They really are terrible. All they need to do is pick up two barrels every week and they keep screwing that up and then blaming on me not knowing how to place the barrels at the correct locations. You don't like facing the barrels out towards the street giving them some space between etc etc. And when you call they will lecture you on how to properly pace your freaking trash barrels. So the first thing they assume is it you're more on and don't know how to put your trash out of the curb. And service is terrible they're people are always grumpy. Wouldn't recommend. The staff does not communicate between one another or properly train their employees. They also do not honor their word or put proper notes in their system. I was notified that my account would be brought to current after making my payment. Which I did. In fact I made 2 payments. Because the guy I spoke with messed up and forgot to add on something the first time. I let them know for the next few weeks we would have extra bags and was told that it wouldn't be a problem. Then I was placed on hold jason had to check if my service area charged for extra bags and i was told they DID NOT CHARGE FOR EXTRA BAGS and that it wouldnt be a problem. Well my service day rolls around and now the bags are all still sitting on my feont lawn. Last week there was no issue taling the bags. This week all of the sudden there is an issue with taking the bags and they tried saying i was never told that. Thinking im trying to just get free service. What i wanted was the words honored that were said on a recorded line. I spoke with several different people about there being extra bags and was told it wouldnt be a problem. So not only do they tell their customers false information. They dont honor their word either. These bags should have been picked up yesterday. ​Not to mention the fact that we were told this issue would be handled yesterday by the end of the day and we never got a phone call back and it wasn't handled by the end of the day. They are awful zero stars but apparently I can't post a review with zero stars so here it is !!! They let you pre pay for curb side pickup of 3 items it takes them weeks and they only picked up one item after a month of them putting it off. Then they say there coming next week to get it and never do. then they say oh you have to take the basketball hoop apart for pick up!!!! we have complained over the years that the trash cans get left all over the place when emptied and when like this the mail does not get delivered unless we are home to move them. Today one of the lids was left open so if it rains they get water in them. We walked the neighborhood today and most of the trash cans were just emptied and left all over the place and about half of them had the lids open. Let alone the pieces of trash that fell out when dumped and just left. Can they just be put back somewhat in place? read more

The Town of Shrewsbury changed waste management providers to Casella in July. How are they still missing trash recycling receptacles on my pickup day 5 weeks later??? And, my recycling is outside by 7am like they ask. Then you call the facility at 5:30 pm and can get transferred to the "emergency" answering service only for them to say, we can take a message but the office won't get it until tomorrow morning. I also sent several emails, no response. Seems a little ridiculous. We never had an issue with Waste Management and have lived here for 30 years! read more

First, I would like to excuse my English writing. Sorry it is not perfect. Anyways, here we go. My war with the Casella finally ended. My sales rep didn't want to give up until I had my lawyer coming into the game. As soon as my lawyer walked in with a few phone call and an email, the sales rep walked away. Although they took those two dumpsters without specific date noticed, which led me a situation that I had to run restaurants without dumpsters for two days until the Republic brings in their dumpsters, they ended up taking it back. Regardless of how they ended, I am just happy that I don't have to deal with them anymore. Now, the republic does the same exact service as the Casella, and the republic would only charge me $535 a month when the Casella have charged me $1515 a month for past 48 months. Hope this review helps everybody trying to collect some information about trash companies. :) read more

We have been with Casella since they bought out Waste Management. Their refuse pickup has been horrible at best since the pandemic and before that it was mediocre. This is the third day my garbage has been sitting out at the end of my driveway. I have called for two days in a row to find out why it has not been picked up. I get excuse after excuse from these people. There have been other times that my garbage has sat at the end of my driveway for over a day or two. This is the first time that it's been out there for three days. My neighbors up the street have two garbage bags torn open and strewn all over their tree belt waiting for Cassella to pick up their garbage. Today is the last day because we are switching garbage companies today. I do not recommend this garbage company, Because that is what their reputation is getting to be, garbage. read more

Casella has gone down the hill. They have missed my pick up for the last three weeks. I have been calling them daily for the last three weeks and everyday they are telling me that they will pick up the very next day. The pick up has not happened till date even after 3 weeks have passed. I requested to have a conversation with their supervisor but they will not transfer my call. They keep saying that the supervisor will call you back. As usual no body called back. Asked for my sales rep, she would not come on the phone either. They are totally messed up. Terrible, Terrible, TERRIBLE I wish you could do a review with negative scores. That is what I would give this company. Just recently moved to Spencer, MA (June 29, 2018) and was in need of a trash pickup service. I had seen Casella Waste bins around and decided to give them a call. My fiance made arrangements for bi-weekly pickup. The first trash pick-up was supposed to be that Thursday (we called on a Monday) - first week into July. Thursday came and no one picked up our trash... we decided we wouldn't make a fuss about it and left it alone. The following week... no trash pickup. My fiance made a call and spoke to a woman that apologized and said she would have someone come and take the trash immediately the next day. Next day... no trash pickup. My fiance called again and spoke to the same woman. He was told that they were backed up and if it is possible, they would pick it up the following week. Following week comes... no trash pickup. My fiance called, frustrated and demanded they pickup the trash. That phone call was made roughly around 9:00 AM. 3 weeks and still no trash pickup was a little absurd. They arrived roughly around 4:30 PM that day and took the trash. The next regular scheduled bi-weekly trash pickup was picked up no problem. The following bi-weekly trash pickup, nothing was picked up. Here we are again, calling to get them to come and get our trash. I decided I would call. It was after 5:00 PM and they close - if it is an emergency they will call someone at home. So I pushed that option. I got the call center and let them know that I was very angry that I have to keep reminding these folks to do the job I am paying them to do. The woman I spoke to said she would have someone call me in the morning. Next morning, I received a call. I explained the situation and what was going on. She apologized and said she would have someone take care of that immediately. I let her know that this seems to be the same thing we keep getting told, someone will pick it up immediately. I told them I will not keep reminding them to do the job I'm paying them for and demanded a credit on my bill since they only officially picked up 1 time on there own. We continue this patter for a few more weeks. I finally got fed up and cancelled all services. I was told that they would be collecting the bins within 7 days and to leave them on the curb. I then called Burdette's trash pickup (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) and explain the situation to them and told them I needed trash pickup asap. They had no problem. They came within and hour or so, dropped off the bins and came that first week and picked up the bins. One time I forgot to put it by the curb and they came and got it anyway! 2 weeks later my old bins were still not picked up by Casella. I called again and complained that they need to be picked up or I will have someone dump the bins at their site and they'll pay for the fees to get those delivered. A few hours later it was picked up. I then had to fight regarding the bill. They sent me a bill saying I owed them money... but I wasn't sure why, they hadn't done anything. I refused to pay the bill... I contacted their board of directors (which is a laughable joke). In the end, I did not end up paying the bill, but it was a few months of bologna. My advice - STAY AWAY - Terrible TERRIBLE service. I cannot express how disappointed and terrible the service was. After my experience, I don't think this company should even be allowed to be in business. Anyone that does get decent service from them - I am glad they're helpful to someone. read more

Casella acts like they do not know what is going on in Worcester! They clearly do not care. I am totally disgusted with my recycle guy! He is rude and this is unacceptable! I will take a video of him every time he picks up then what he leaves on my lawn I will personally drop off at the Worcester trash on east Worcester street immediately after he leaves my home every time ! The worst customer service and so unnecessary. My service was suspended for non payment. I showed them I had payed, canceled check and everything but they said they wouldn't reinstate my service until they investigated and they didn't know how long that would be. Unbelievable that the customer gets punished for the companies errors. That was the last straw in a string of horrible customer service and billing errors. read more

I would not recommend this service to anyone looking for a dumpster. There are a lot of hidden fees. The communication is terrible. It was a huge investment that was completely unexpected. They tell you there is a two week rental but then do not tell you that you must call to schedule a pick up before the two weeks is up. read more

They made me "rate" Casella. I would have chosen zero stars. So, where to start... My condo association has one dumpster that is to be regularly emptied every two weeks on Wednesdays. On November 27, 2019, the regular pickup day, the dumpster did not get emptied. On Friday, 11/29, without any notification of the delay and when they would be coming, the truck showed up to empty the dumpster but couldn't because there was a car parked in the parking space in front of the dumpster. The driver took a picture of the car in front of the dumpster and drove away. Casella then had the nerve to send me an email with the picture saying they couldn't pick up because of the car. Again, they never informed anyone of the different pickup day so nobody knew not to park their car in that spot. We have limited parking anyway, so not parking there is not really an option unless we know they're coming. Anyway, when I called them to get an explanation, I was issued another empy apology and I was told that they would be there the following Wednesday to empty the dumpster. I was told that the truck would take everything, even the extra bags of trash that were now beginning to pile up on the sides and on top of the dumpster. When I arrived home from work that next Wednesday, 12/4/2019, the dumpster still had not been emptied. I called them again and was told they would be there the next day, Thursday, 12/5/2019. Upon arriving home on 12/5, the dumpster STILL had not been empted. I called again on Friday, 12/6/2019. I was now told that it would be emptied THAT DAY. I was given a guarantee that someone would be there. On Monday, 12/9/2019, I emailed a picture of the now badly overflowing dumpster to Casella. Some guy named Bill called and told me that the dumpster would be emptied on Wednesday, 12/11/2019. This was lie number... 4...5? I've lost count. Finally, on Thurday, 12/12/2019, the truck showed up. The driver then proceded to move all of the overflowing trash and garbage out of the way, emptied the dumpster and drove away leaving all of the extra crap behind. He left all of the extra trash in front of the opened gates of the dumpster area. When I contacted Casella again, they told me that "if someone can re-fill the dumpster the driver will come back in 20 minutes and empty it again." Two different people basically told me the same thing. I'm not suppsed to go out there and do their job for them. I told them to screw and to get their driver back their to clean up the mess that THEY caused. Casella apparently has no problem continually lying to their customers and their service when an issue actually arises SUCKS!! In all, 29 days elapsed between pickups because nobody notifed us that the regular pickup had been delayed by two days. As I said a rep named Jessica, this is Customer Service 101 and they failed MISERABLY. What has happened since that first fail is utterly disgusting. If I could post the pictures here, I would. Disgraceful, Casella. To Jessica and Bill, who continually told me lies, I hope you lose your jobs. You obviously don't know how to do them. read more

We inherited Casella from a previous waste management company whom we had signed a contract with in 2004. When Casella's rates kept going up, we finally asked for a rate decrease for our small business about 2 years ago. They wouldn' t decrease the rate but said they would freeze it for two years if we signed a new contract which we declined to do. We finally found a new company and called Casella to terminate their service. Now they are telling us we have a contract with them for another year and a half and will have to pay for that amount of time to terminate their service!!!! WE NEVER SIGNED A NEW CONTRACT!! Now they've handed everything over to a collection agency because we refuse to pay them money we don't owe. They are impossible to get rid of, their prices are outrageous and I would never recommend this company to anyone! Beware!! read more

We use Casella for trash and recycling pickup on a bi-weekly basis in Rutland. Overall we have been pleased with the service, though I do wish they offered every week recycling. Right now they only offer every week trash and every other week recycling. Also there service prices keep creeping up every year. read more

NEVER experienced such AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE in my life. they will change your plan with out letting you know hiking the price up and to not even pick up your trash when they say so. months later *once I realized* I contacted them about the price and receiving a service that I not only didn't agree to but one they couldn't abide. so I changed the plan to biweekly pickups only for them not to pick it up as scheduled. I call to see what the deal is and the HR says "oh we can't do that for 130 a month it would have to be 200" but a few weeks earlier the same woman agreed to 130 for biweekly pickups. this company is full of liars and scammers. they never own up for their mistakes and they will lie lie lie until you're simply exhausted and sick of talking to them. 5 days ago they took payment from me via Debit card and scheduled pick up for today. As the day wore on I called the office twice to make sure we were scheduled for pick up. I was told " Yes, we have you scheduled for today, they are on their way". Only to have them never show up. I live right off a main road, paved, very easy to find. If I do not receive a full refund we will have a real problem. I can't think of why any business would take payment and not deliver service. Theft is the best way to describe it. read more

I've never dealt with a company that has caused me so much stress. For the last 2 months they have not come and picked up my trash. TWO MONTHS. I'm a landlord and i am so embarrassed that my tenants have to see this overflow of garbage. Whenever I call they tell me they have someone coming ASAP. It's something new every day. Now the city is sending me papers saying to clean up my trash. This is unreal. The most unprofessional company i have ever dealt with. How can they keep telling me they are on their way to pick up my trash for the last two months. And then they have the excuse "well there is road work going on". It's not blocking my driveway guys. Choose another company! Casella repeatedly leaves trash in the bins causing bugs and horrid smells. Customer Service is polite but unhelpful. They refuse to send the truck back when they don't do the job correctly in the first place.
