I was advised to I call Northwest Eye Clinic. They were able to get me in on the same day! I was seen by Dr. Matteucci, an ophthalmologist. Dr. Matteucci and his assistant, Ashley, examined my eyes very thoroughly. The receptionist was courteous and professional. Their intake form was short and manageable. By the time I was done with the form, I was taken to the back by Ashley, and an examination started right away. There was little waiting time before Dr. Matteucci came in to further examine my eyes. The surgery and care from the doctor has been great. The let down for me has been with the…read morebusiness side. My surgery was October 2025 with an iol in my left eye. My my vision right away was not good so I had to retake the round of drops. The second round improved my vision but I needed to have the bottom tear duct plugged. Best vision that I could have hoped for. The doctor wanted me in for a 6 month follow up which I went to. But, now the bills start rolling in with explanations that we are outside the "global" time of 90 days. When I asked on the pricing up front the response was that it included any follow up treatment and care. I guess that they are as good as their word. Please watch for unfair billing practice with Northwest Eye Clinic.

I like the frames, the prices for them listed out in the open, they sit down at the table WITH your insurance deductibles and explains exactly what each feature costs. They thoroughly explained each step of the exam, what each test would do, what you would experience (puff in the eyes, etc...) what they would learn from each test, and why that was important. Prices were really good, and not only do you not have to request a copy of your eye prescription , they hand you one on the way out the door, with access to your account online where you can down load it on command. Yeah this was a perfect experience. 11/10 would go again. Bonus, I get my glasses in two weeks or less.

The clinic provider says they will not see a child until they turn 11, even though Seattle Children's Ophthalmology requires our child to have this routine 5-minute check done locally in Bellingham. This is the opposite of a what this clinic should be in our community, and we will choose not to receive services from them for our child when they turn 11 shortly.

With that being said, Dr. Kim was my fathers Doctor, my father has glaucoma in both eyes and cataracts in one eye. Dr. Kim's was very insistent about my dad getting cataract surgery, so his office scheduled my dad for the surgery, I flew home and took off work to take care of my dad. We showed up the day of the surgery 30 minutes early where we were informed that my father's surgery was canceled to our shock and dismay. I called Dr. Kim's office for an explanation for the unceremonious cancellation, the gentleman I spoke with said the surgery had been cancelled due to the fact that my father was last seen by Mr. Kim in early December and that was too many months between the surgery(which was in mid March) and the last office visit. I asked why my dad was not informed of this when they scheduled his surgery and why we never received a phone call nor a voicemail telling us the surgery was canceled, the man told me that someone from Dr. Kim's office had called my dad that day. We NEVER received that voicemail and did not have any missed call from Dr. Kim's office. Regardless if Dr. Kim's office called us on the surgery day (which they did not) that is unacceptable. Both the man I spoke with and the office manager admitted this scheduling error was their fault and should have been caught much earlier. To make matters worse, when I finally talked to Dr. Kim the next day he admitted to me he didn't look at my dads chart until 11 pm the night before him surgery. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! The next day after the supposed surgery day, Dr. Kim examined my dad and he concluded that he doesn't think my dad needs cataract surgery after all. WHAT!!!!! How do you go from needing cataract surgery to not needing the surgery. HUGE RED FLAG Dr. Kim was not apologetic at all, he acted like it was not a big deal to cancel a surgery last minute. I explain to him that I had to take time off work and fly here for the surgery to take care of my dad, but he couldn't have cared less. I explained that due to his and his office error it costed me almost $1,000 in travel and lost wages. I wrote Dr. Kim and his office a letter giving a detail account of everything that happened and how much their mistake cost me in travel expense and lost wages. I received a letter back saying they refuse to reimburse me for anything. I will never let my father go to this doctor ever again. I have already found my dad a new doctor. I chose to wait to write this review to give Dr. Kim the opportunity to make things right, he chose not to.

He gets onto things right away. I got in at the last minute on a Friday as I had sudden onset double vision. He is very thorough when checking your eyes and describes everything in detail to you. His assistant Kim is an extremely polite person who immediately makes you feel at ease. Don't hesitate to make an appt. with Dr. Kim for anything to do with your eyes.

I've been coming here since I moved to Bellingham in 2003. I have always been very happy with their…read moreservice. After Dr. McEathron retired a few years ago, I have been seen by Dr. LeClaire. Dr. LeClaire is very thorough with her exam and spends so much time with contact lens fitting. Every time I go in for an annual eye exam and contact lens fitting, she looks for what's best for me. She usually sends me home with trial lenses with a new prescription to try out for a couple of weeks. A couple of years ago, I tried out three different prescriptions until I found what works best for me. She had me back for quick follow-up appointments to make sure of proper fitting each time, and there was no charge for them. It really shows how much she cares about her patients. The staff in the office are very helpful and very pleasant. They always checks my insurance benefits, and there's never been a surprise. I highly recommend Dr. LeClaire and her staff at Binyon Vision in Bellingham.
