Three nurses who I would describe as bullies one in particular the oldest gave the other two instructions to go get the netted cage that attaches to the bed. I was sitting on the bed at the time. I was frightened at this point, as I did not know what they would do. They attached this cage like apparatus to the bed and locked me in it. I was not given any care while in this cage for about an hour. I had done nothing at all to cause this action. Was in this hospital for several days. The care was mediocre, the reason for my rating of not good. There were a couple of nurses that gave me good care however. If I was to choose a hospital it would not be Three Rivers. I value my life to choose another place. While in that cage I felt funny and could have passed out, but I tried to be calm as I could. There was not reason at all to be put into this locked cage. I have an infected bursa, obviously…read more Instead of aspirating the Dr (and I hesitate calling him that) just wants to inject me with antibiotics. I told him why not aspirate? He said, because that's a surgery and I'm not going to do that here. It's not a surgery, it's a non-surgical procedure. He said, I'll have to write on your chart that you rejected my treatment. Treatment, lol! Pushing antibiotics in to someone when you have no idea what bacteria if any is involved. That's with a sign in their office that reads, "antibiotics aren't for everything" or something like that. But, antibiotics are in that doctors case even after I told him antibiotics almost killed me. Morons, although I think most doctors are egotistical morons. All their schooling and the only idea they have is selling big pharma. So, I said I would do a local antibiotic injection but when the guy walked in to inject me he wanted to inject it in the fatty tissue of my ass, that's not local and the infection is in my elbow. He said a local injection, the guy said no in your hip. I said I reject the treatment. The doctor lied to me by saying an aspiration is a surgical procedure and then didn't care to ask what history in my life caused issue with antibiotics. Horrible practice, horrible doctor and rude staff. I wasn't aggressive at all just asked if I reject treatment do I have to pay? The secretary said, "if you reject treatment then you can run like the wind". Just completely horrible all the way around. No care for humanity or an inkling of bed side manner. Shame on VIC!

This was my…read moreexperience at Asante: I checked in at the appointed time, and was sent upstairs and immediately given a private room. A hospital gown was waiting and a nurse brought in a heated blanket and socks! Loved that. The nurses were very sweet and helpful and answered all my questions, they told me they make great Melalo's coffee, if I would like some when I woke up. Something to look forward to! They really put me at ease. One nurse put in an IV which was painless and perfect first try, I was impressed. Another one asked me some medical history questions and Dr. Nelson came in shortly to discuss the procedure with me, answered all my questions, took his time. I felt I had a good understanding of what would happen, and I liked everyone there, I felt I was in capable hands. With almost no wait time, I was wheeled into the procedure room and the sedation was explained, I was hooked up to monitors. The Propofol IV was started and I was out in seconds, that is great stuff. You go to sleep fast and wake up fast, as soon as the drip is stopped. Wonderful! Next thing I know, I'm waking up back in the room where I started and it's over! I'm drinking excellent coffee and waking up in a warm bed. The doctor came in and told me what he had found and I got copies of photos of my internals. See you in five years, hopefully no more polyps. The hospital staff had already told my husband the procedure was done and to wait for me at the door. I finished my coffee and was able to dress myself, and walk to the elevator and go home! I felt great, very relieved, and happy and absolutely no abdominal discomfort! I felt perfectly fine. I know nobody wants a colonscopy but I had the best experience, it could not have gone any better and I am so appreciative of everyone at Asante. If you are reading this, get your colonoscopy, there's nothing to fear! It's so important and they do a great job of it at Asante! I promise they will take great care of you! You will leave feeling good and knowing you did yourself a big favor today! We are lucky to live in a time of great medical diagnostics and I feel lucky to have Asante here for my care. Five enthusiastic stars and many thanks to the staff at Asante Outpatient Surgery Center!
