I don't have many choices when it comes to retina specialists in the area. Doctor Korot is very knowledgeable, but did not spend a lot of time with me. This was hard as a patient. I get other patients might have more urgent needs, but if I waited over two hours to see you because my retina is detaching, I'd appreciate better "bedside manner." Annual check ups matter too!!! If I could get a referral to a different doctor, I would change offices. Second reason I do not recommend this office: my appointments have been canceled last minute, and rescheduling is damn near impossible. I can never get anyone on the phone! The folks who do take calls don't work in the office and have to leave a note with the office. It took over five times for me to call and leave a message to get a returned call! Again very frustrating from the patient side. Finally, paying a bill is more difficult than it should be. You get the bill in the mail with a number to call. But guess what? The operators say the office is busy and they'll "call you back." I'm not sure what else can be done, aside from going into the office to pay my bill. I would argue that you have to go to the office to schedule and pay bills in person because the phone and email do not seem to work. Please do better, retina specialists of Michigan. You can hire more people to help with admin work, this might actually help patients.

If the doctors were not so good I would leave this practice. Who would imagine paying a bill would be difficult? Paying online was supposed to work but it did not. When calling, first you get an artificial assistant that frankly I first thought was a real person who did not know how to listen, but no, it was AI. Eventually I got a real person who said I would be called back by a biller. Never happened. I called at least 3 times. I don't drive but I may have to get a ride and go there in person to pay my bill. I am so frustrated.

I was also skeptical because I was paying for the surgery through a groupon... but the whole thing was legit! From one skeptical person to another, you have no need to be worried, this is legit, professional, and a steal when it comes to the prices of Lasik surgery!

On August 16, 2026, I scheduled a virtual consultation for 1:30 PM. I was not informed beforehand that a specific Microsoft application was required. Here is the first issues, this company never informed the customer that a certain microsoft video app is needed for the virtual consultation, you dont find this out until you attempt to have the consultation. So instead of a video consultation I called the company for a phone consultation When I called for assistance, I was placed on an extended hold before being connected to a non-medical representative who was unable to answer my medical questions. There were many medical questions that he could not answer because he was not a doctor therefore he had no knowledge about. I specifically requested to speak with a doctor and was scheduled for a follow-up appointment at 3:00 PM the next day. On the morning of August 17, at 9:17 AM I called to confirm that I would be speaking with a actial physician. The rep confirmed that I would indeed be speaking to an actual doctor at 3:00 PM later today. I then asked would the company call me or should I call. I was told that I would receive a call at 3:00 PM. Despite this confirmation, I received no call at the scheduled time. When I followed up at 3:15 PM, I was again placed on a long hold. This rep looked at the notes in their system and confirmed that I was indeed scheduled to speak with an actual doctor. I then asked him if he was going to find an actual doctor. He then put me on hold, which lasted about 15 minutes. When he returned all he can do was apologize because he could not find an actual doctor or anyone for that matter for the second scheduled consultation. I then hung up the phone. Shortly after hanging up, I received a call from a representative who was rude and unprofessional, yet still not the medical professional I had been promised. The lack of coordination and failure to provide access to a qualified doctor is deeply concerning, especially given that this consultation pertains to a surgical procedure involving my eyesight. I expect a higher standard of transparency and reliability from a medical provider. I look forward to your prompt response regarding how you intend to address these systemic failures. Please post your respone to my complaint and do not ask me to contact you privately!

From having them try to kick me out of the waiting area while my husband was having eye surgery to forcing clients family to wait in the parking lot for literally HOURS for recheck appointments and waiting weeks for a doctor to sign my husband's disability paperwork...it's chaos. To top it all off, most of the people trying to order you about are young twenty somethings with a "Control Freak" mentality. I understand having to take precautions with Covid and such but when I opened the office door to inquire (after 2.5 hours of sitting in my car waiting) what was taking so long for my husband's recheck appointment, they stood up and screamed at me to "ma'am shut the door!!" I had a face mask on and was not anywhere close to another person. I asked another person in the hallway if they were always this backed up and she simply said "yes". She was an employee. I wish I could give this office negative five stars. Worse place I have EVER encountered for office staff. If you are having surgery and will be out of work for a length of time be prepared for no income for a long time due to them dragging their feet on getting any paperwork handled. When we called to check the status after two weeks we were told it was still "sitting on the doctor's desk" but the girl we were speaking to would make sure it was signed THAT day. Another week went by and we got a call from my husband's employer asking if we were going to file any disability paperwork or not. Still the Doctor had not even signed it yet. Three weeks it sat on his desk when we were told it was taken care of AND mailed in to my hisband's employer. My husband had eye surgery in October. This is December 5. We still have not received any check from disability and he just returned to work this week. Wonder how they would like being off work with no income for that long ?? Leaving paperwork to just sit on someone's desk after you have said it will "be all taken care of" is just wrong. Get a clue people !

I have extremely dry eyes, and after advising me as to what to do to alleviate the dryness Dr. Colburn actually went out into the store to see if they carried what she felt I should try. They did, however I wanted to try the samples she gave me before I purchased (the drops are rather expensive) and when I went back the next day to get some they had already sold the last bottle. I ended up ordering the drops on Amazon. Christine (not really sure what her title is and I can't find her business card) took very good care of me in regards to picking out frames and measuring my eyes and that sort of thing. She was very patient while I took a picture of myself wearing a pair of frames so I could ask my son for his advice (I got the ones he picked out). There was an issue when I picked up my glasses as the frames that came from the manufacturer weren't quite the same as what I ordered. Christine was able to put the lenses in the exact pair of frames that I picked out and that was very much appreciated. After I wore the glasses for a little while I felt that they were just a little "off" so I returned to the store and Christine made some adjustments. I'm reserving judgement, but I think they may be right now. There's a 60 satisfaction guarantee so if I decide that they are NOT right I can go back in and have them changed out to make sure that they are perfect. I'm so glad I chose to go to this vision center.
