They have various types of plots and mausoleums, and their new building is much larger and modern, with multiple rooms, large reception hall, and ample parking. The staff were very professional and helped the experience feel organized and streamlined. I appreciated them bringing us umbrellas when it started to rain, and some even gave up their own umbrellas for the guests, despite this gesture soaking them in the rain instead. We felt very respected and cared for during the entire event, and the tech (like mics, tv, audio) were prepared well and of high quality, and did not take away from the eulogies and mourning experience.

The staff were attentive, organized, and genuinely caring, making what could have been an overwhelming process much more manageable. The facilities are peaceful, well-maintained, and create a comforting atmosphere for honoring and remembering our loved one. We truly felt that our family's needs were understood and that our loved one was treated with the utmost dignity. A special thank you to Celebrant Stu Schell, who conducted the service with warmth, compassion, and sensitivity. His guidance and presence made the ceremony even more meaningful and helped our family feel supported throughout. We are also very grateful to Taelin and Pat, whose kindness, attention to detail, and thoughtful care ensured everything went smoothly and eased our burden during this difficult time. Overall, Sunset Hills, along with Stu Schell, Taelin, and Pat, made a very challenging time a little easier, and we are sincerely thankful for their support and compassion.

Though their address is listed as in Bellevue I think their operations are in Sumner and they just have an office here. They were also very inexpensive. Without saying too much I found them to be helpful with some extra requests we had and I thought they did a good job. It's a little bit macabre to be writing a review for a funeral home amongst all the restaurant reviews I usually do but I think they deserve a good review.

Curnow gave us exactly what we wanted. The wonderful staff walked us through the very few decisions, and all the paperwork. They listened to our requests and then helped us with exactly those. The process was low in hassle and a GREAT price compared to some neighboring establishments. The person who died would have wanted extra money to be spent on helping living people, not an extravagant funeral or expensive coffin. We were able to donate some money with what we saved. However, Curnow also allowed us to go through the body disposal process with dignity, and now we have the ashes to scatter later in an intimate family service. Thanks for being there for us, Curnow!

The last thing that I want to be doing during my moment of grief is writing a review…read more However, my experience with this place was so egregious that my conscience would bother me immensely if I thought for one moment that another grieving individual would come across this place and read only the good reviews and think this is a choice for them. I have lost many people in my life from grandparents to children and many others in between, and so I have had a lot of experience in this area. In my experience, people in the funeral services business are some of the kindest, most empathetic people out there. I always considered them angels on God's mission. If you feel that way too, stay as far away from this place as possible. Below is my complete experience with elemental cremation and burial, conversation verbatim, no edits: I research their website, read google and yelp reviews, decide to call them first: Elemental: may I help you? Me: I just found out my mother passed away, I found you online and after reading your reviews, I really hope that I have called the right place. Elemental: so you want some prices? (Note: this is verbatim. No "my condolences" no "I'm sorry for your loss", nothing). Me: um. I guess. Most importantly, I'd like to speak to someone about making arrangements and having her taken care of right away. She passed away at home, and my sister is there with her right now and I'm out of state. Elemental: so you want prices then? Me: wow. Um yeah i guess but thats not my main concern. My mom has been in the house with my sister awhile so i want to know how soon you can pick her up? .....Hello? Are you still there? Elemental: hold music playing. Me: hangs up call in complete shock. For the record, I am not an overly emotional, touchy-feely, kind of person. And so I really wasn't looking for a lot sympathy wise. But given the line of work they are in I expected a little bit more than what I got especially in comparison to all of my previous experiences. I cannot imagine anyone signs up to be treated like this on such a sad day in their life. I get it, I understand that they're in the business to make money and want to make sure they get paid, but if this is how they do it, that's really sad. There are so many wonderful, compassionate, amazing places out there doing this work. Places that find gentle and respectful ways to talk to you about money while also respecting your grief. I felt like that was 101 in this business, guess i was wrong. In other words, had I stayed away from elemental cremation & burial, I would not have had to take time out of everything else that needs to be done, to sit down and write a review about this awful place. But like i said, i can't risk someone else choosing this place after reading the glowing reviews i read. No one wants to send their loved ones off with people as disrespectful as this; And no dearly departed wants their loved ones left behind to be treated like this.

A loved one passing is emotionally devastating to say the least. Unfortunately when this happens…read morethere are many things which must still be handled regardless of one's grief, which are time sensitive. This includes finding a final resting place, or a place which will do the cremation depending on the wishes of a loved one. Having something pre planned is ideal, but not always done ahead of time. When my mother died it was within a few weeks after she moved from Santa Fe to Seattle. Because of this we were left scrambling to find a funeral home. I tried doing a Google and Yelp search of funeral homes and found that this task, which one would have thought would be simple, was anything but. You don't want to use some shady company, and it was amazing how many sketchy places came up in my search. I literally spent all night trying to find somewhere that I thought would be appropriate, but keep coming up with a lot of recommendations which I felt were anything but. Finally Cedar Lawns hit my radar and they were who I went with. Roxanne helped me through a very difficult time, and she did so in a manner which was both compassionate and stress free. They arranged to have my mom's remains transferred from the hospital to their care for cremation. Took care of notifying social security, handling the death certificate and answered innumerable questions. I know that this is something which all funeral homes are responsible for doing, but I am sure that many of them could easily use your grief to upsell you into services you don't want. This was not the case, and she never rushed me into making a decision. The details were handled smoothly and efficiently and I never once worried about how her remains were being handled. She was wonderful to work with and if you ever need to use a funeral home I highly recommend this one and Roxanne in particular. Although we had our mother cremated, if she had wished to be buried I think she would have approved of resting in their cemetery, which is well tended, peaceful and quiet despite being in Redmond. My father is 91 and suffers from dementia and prostrate cancer, so I am fairly certain I will be needing a funeral home in the near future as much as I hate to say it. At least this time I will know exactly where to go to make a difficult time less stressful.
