Yes, like so many others, I had to deal with the death of my youngest. "Eve" was gentle and intelligent, answering my questions and advising me the whole way. Flexible and a decent price, no upselling or irrelevancies Very nice! read more

Cascade Memorial - my son's urn... - Cremation Services Near Me - Bellevue, Washington

If I could give negative stars I would. After being sold to another company years ago (Dignity Memorial, based in Houston Texas, which happens to be the world's largest funeral/cemetery/crematory chain), Cascade Memorial became focused on profit, not service. Not alerting families of this change or giving them any chance to go over new or "needed" paperwork (on their end), when they sold out. While this may have been a smooth transition for most, for others, it's caused upset, acute distress, frustration, extreme anxiety and overwhelming emotional dysregulation. At a time in families lives, a company like this, should be helping guide and ease their grieving process... not add to the heartbreak and worsen the pain. Being in this business requires a level of compassion that Cascade Memorial clearly lacks. Staff have lied to both families and state offices about paperwork needing to be filed. Lack of accountability is an understatement. Email threads, phone calls, paper trails and learning the history of this company being sued for similar reasons (they will be hearing from more attorneys and possible news outlets soon) has been beyond shocking and traumatic. Losing a loved one is one of the most difficult challenges someone will face, and to "hold" a body for over not just one but two months?! Is disgusting, shameful, abhorrent, evil and when it comes down to it, inexcusable. This company should be ashamed of what they are putting some families through and I will make sure that I never, ever recommend this place. Cascade Memorial and frankly, the other South Sound Region places Dignity Memorial owns (just to be safe) have been black listed from anywhere I will recommend patients and families. I am disgusted and disappointed and hope that someday, this place can change for the better... but for now, this review is to warn others to stay away, change memorials or at least be aware of the pain and suffering they are causing. The recent things they have said and done shouldn't be legal, and frankly, that'll be run by an attorney as well. I wouldn't be surprised if they have this comment taken down, because it doesn't just speak truth, but it threatens an image that they are failing to uphold and like most "big box" type companies, they like to make these kinds of "problems" (because that's all this seems to be to them, not about an actual PERSON) disappear. The deceased are not paperwork, grieving families are not problems to be managed, and human dignity should never become collateral damage in the pursuit of profit. read more

I recently lost my partner of over 25 years and the decision to cremate was already there but where wasn't. I was introduced to Cascade Memorial and was very grateful. Eve handled me and the process with kindness, integrity, and efficiently. When you are at your lowest it's nice to have someone with knowledge makes a huge difference while being gentle. I highly recommend them. read more

Working with Amanda during this time has been so wonderful. She has been kind and invaluable. She has taken the extra time with me today when picking up my loved one. Thank you so very much, read more

AVOID. DIRTY, and I do not mean cleanliness. Something is rotten in Denmark and the staff, especially AMANDA MORT was cruel, vindictive, and rude which was SHOCKING behavior during a difficult time. Horrible experience which may be why they advertise from a place of cheap. Worst customer service, phone games, poor knowledge of protocol, and downright rude behavior. I pray for the owners of this establishment. Good luck and go elsewhere. Prayers for your loss. read more

This business was one of a few that were recommended to us by Evergreen Hospice in Kirkland because they charge reasonable fees for their services, unlike some other cremation businesses that I've dealt with. We went online, went through the menu, made our choices, paid online. It was nice to be able to make those decisions in the privacy of your home, rather than going to a funeral home and having someone sell you their services. Once cremation is needed, that's when you'll get an email to sign the paperwork online which I worked with Nicole on that. I met Amanda in person and she's a sweetheart. She was very professional but at the same time very understanding and kind. The ashes were ready in about 2 weeks. Cascade Memorial really made the whole process easy, quick and perhaps most important, less stressful at a time when that's really crucial. Thank you so much. read more

This review has taken me some time to be ready to write. Even now it's so very hard to believe that I am typing this out. I never ever imagined that I would need to contact a funeral home for my child. (Daughter 17years old). Forgive me if I'm leaving out a name or two but I do remember working with Amanda. She was the BEST. This was one of the most difficult things I have ever had to walk through and she was with me every step of the way. She put up with me changing my mind on things several times. She always was kind and compassionate. She helped organize and even drove my daughter's body to the location for the viewing. She walked with me through switching caskets for the viewing. She was so patient with me as I had to sign the death certificate as my hands shook uncontrollably. She listened intently and with understanding when my ex tried to obtain some of my daughter's Ashe's. She helped me to navigate and she handled the situation beautifully. I am so very thankful for this place. And she helped when I picked out cremation jewelry. She helped and went above and beyond for myself and my family. I am so grateful. read more

Posted on behalf of my dear friend, Joy: I was shell-shocked and tasked alone to plan my husband's final resting place after a short & sudden illness. My head was swirling. All I knew was that he wanted to be buried near my family, across the country in Chicagland, to my great surprise. In the past, I've had rather depressing, old-fashioned funeral home experiences. Cascade Memorial was the farthest from the dark, formal, dreary places I was familiar with. Their Federal Way location was bright, hopeful, fresh! I worked with Robin. She was very respectful, understanding and offered great suggestions. There was no rush. I thought I was up against a holiday deadline for transporting and burial. She explained everything. First, I had to find a Chicagoland Funeral Director to accept my husband's casket. Enlisting a second funeral Director might not be in your plans. But you should know the two directors will work seamlessly behind the scenes. There could have even been a hitch due to planes not flying because of high heat temperatures. I was confident after talking to Robin that safety & prudence are at the top of her mind. Cascade's prices are very fair covering a range of price points. There are several options to make your loved one's send-off special for everyone. A lovely surprise was Robin's added touch of engraving my husband's name on the casket. Look no further. I know you will make the right decision with Cascade Memorial, at either location. Joy, Seattle read more

They did a proper and professional job beginning to end. My only issue with them was during the time I was waiting to hear when I could pick up mom's ashes. I called. The woman, after I asked for a status check, a little too brightly said "Oh yes, your mother was cremated yesterday!" As if she was saying "Oh yes, we just completed refinishing your table!" I realize the woman is in a business where she must compartmentalize, a cremation to her is just another widget coming down the assembly line. I get that. She's de-sensitized. But her almost flippant comment was like a punch in my gut. It haunts me to this day. On the other hand, it was just about the cheapest creation in town. That would have appealed to mom (Depression Era person). Mom's attitude to my reaction described above? She would have said "Oh get over it!" She was the ultimate pragmatist. I still believe further training in public communication is needed at Cascade. read more

Nicole at Cascade Memorial helped with my mother's cremation. It was great to have her handle everything and caring for all of our needs. This whole process was less stressful knowing she was taking good care of my mother. My only issue was with the website. It does not do justice to their beautiful containers. Over the phone, I had selected the hummingbird container. My mother loved hummingbirds. There was no picture of it on the website. When we went to their Bellevue office to pick up the container, we were thrilled with how beautiful it was. However, we saw on display many other beautiful containers. Since we decided to scatter my mother in separate locations, I went back and purchased a few more scattering container. Nicole was kind enough to separate the ashes between each of the containers for me. Thank you Nicole and Cascade Memorial! read more

Cascade Memorial is a wonderful place full of caring individuals who make sure that everything is taken care of and they don't charge an arm and a leg to do it. My brother passed away unexpectedly and, although this wasn't a local business (I'm North of Everett and they're in Bellevue), my family and I chose to have Cascade Memorial cremate my brother. They personally picked him up (at no extra charge) and they assured me that they are the only ones who would be handling my brothers remains. No third party help! Their office is welcoming and pleasant and they go out of their way to make sure that everything is done right and everyone is as satisfied as can be during such a difficult time. They also provide a free on-line obituary which I thought was very nice. I would definitely recommend them and use them again if need be. read more

Highly recommend! The sales staff are very sweet and help you out every step of the way. They make dealing with a loved one passing away so much easier than expected. They helped me with my uncle from picking up his body, to the cremation service and the urn afterwards. The price is very reasonable (low) which is very nice for those unexpected passings. read more

Sarah has been a wonderful help to me personally and in my business. I run a nursing home and we have used Cascade Memorial for several of my residents and their families. Highly recommend. Staff is very compassionate, warm, and knowledgeable. Madison, Karuna, and Sarah helped me deal with back-to-back within 6 months, sudden deaths of my husband and little brother. They gently guide the bereaved to do what needs to be done, such as accurately filling out death certificate data. There is no sales pressure for expensive caskets or urns, just providing information and prices so the family may choose for their loved ones final disposition. Their prices are lower than most others I interviewed. I hope I do not have any more family members die suddenly, and if I do, I would return to Cascade Memorial. read more

My mother passed away in march, it was very traumatic for me as a younger mother to have to try and save my mom, she passed holding my one year old daughter. Both Sarah and Heather are a Godsend. I was referred to Cascade Memorial by a chaplain friend of mine, after my wife died. I used their cremation service directly, and they gave me pointers on planning a special service. The "death industry" is a rip-off, in my humble opinion. There are always exceptions, and Cascade Memorial is a stand-out. My elderly father died in November, and once again, I called these very capable ladies for assistance. They make the process very personal, and they are very thorough. I would highly recommend this company, especially in light of their fair pricing structure. J.G., Issaquah read more

My dad passed away in July, and we just wanted a simple cremation. We were lucky to find Cascade Memorial, they made things very easy. The staff was extremely helpful to our family and my mom. We were able to have a nice ceremony at Clise Mansion in Redmond, and I am thankful for their assistance with putting it all together and was very beautiful. Dad would have liked it. Thank you for being such sensitive, professional, and helpful people! This place truly exceeded my expectations in a funeral home. read more

When my father died they sent the body to cascade memorial from the VA hospital knowing that we wanted to have him cremated. I was a little worried not having a choice in the process but glad someone had set things in motion. When I got there the staff was so kind, helpful and up front. They gave us time to decide what we wanted in an urn and didn't pressure us to buy anything we didn't want. They have a beautiful selection by the way. They allowed us to view the body in a sudden decision without being phased. Everyone we worked with helped us take care of paperwork. Such a great staff. They were familiar with the VA benefit paperwork as well. I would recommend to anyone living through the misery of death. Totally affordable as well. read more

During a tough time in my families life - using the CM services made it fast and very easy to to handle this emotional event. We pre-purchased everything online a few days before the actual family members End Of Life event occured. Everything we needed was taken care of and my family didn't have to scramble. Everything was taken care of which helped make a very sad time a bit easier to handle. Areas of improvement; a) their online invoice & receipt processing didn't work for me. I had to manually request a receipt emailed ot me. b) even though I pre-filled out forms online they required me to fill them out again manually and send them back. Any other time in my life it wouldn't be a big deal but during a death in the family it really bothered me. However, I will use their services again. read more

Every single phone contact with Cascade was fantastic. I was choosing between two places offering cremation services in Seattle, from Los Angeles. The other place, the guy was gruff and seemed distracted. At Cascade, the lovely Nikki answered the phone. She has the most impeccable, loving, calm manor -- exactly what you need at a time like this. Every time I spoke to her -- or to another lovely gentleman there -- I felt like 1) I had 100% of their attention and 2) I was being hugged from afar. They thought of everything, explained everything very clearly, and swiftly allayed each and every concern. A truly lovely experience. Thank you, Cascade, for making a difficult time as stress-free and calm as possible. read more

I asked from the start of the cremation process that I did not want her death publicized. Of course some things are out of the Cascades hands .county agencies could publish her death. My mom didn't want a crazy friend of hers to know she had died or where she lived. W.ell low and behold weeks after her death there is an announcement from Cascade published by Google and bearing Cascades name all over it on Google when you write in her name. I was assured by a supervisor that she had contacted Google and it would be removed but wasn't . That supervisor is now gone, they seem to turn over a lot of staff. The new supervisor despite 3 calls has never returned my call. One needs to wonder if they lied about using her name for advertising purposes what else did they lie about. Very disappointed in Cascade. Think twice about booking with them. Joanne in Seattle read more

I do not recommend this mortuary if you are a person of color. we used them for my sister and they did an awful job. Her wig was on top of her head not placed, they did not do her makeup for the funeral services, her children had to put it on before the services, even though we provided them with the make, we felt rushed and the price for this service was more than they what did for my loved one. though they had her info, their online obituary for her was not updated until the day of her services. Heather was wonderful and empathetic. There was a problem with getting the necklace I ordered to put husbands ashes in. We were in the hospital with no clue how to proceed. The reviews for cascade convinced me and I called them. They were thoughtful and courteous. I liked that they didn't ask all the questions at that time. Instead they emailed me a link that let us fill everything out online later and pay online. No salesperson trying up sell us on an expensive urn or anything. Simple, as painless as possible, and the price was fair. As good an experience as we could have in this kind of situation. read more

I understand that many families do not have funds to pay for a typical cremation or funeral. That said, I am very, very disappointed with Cascade Memorial. My sister passed away unexpectedly and Cascade Memorial via Heather assured us they had picked up her body the day of release by the medical examiner (Thurs), and that she was held in a "temperature controlled facility in north Seattle." Cascade also processed my credit card payment for cremation services that day (Friday). On Monday when I picked up personal effects, the medical examiner's office assured me that my sister's body was still with them. I immediately contacted Cascade Memorial and was told by Sarah that she was "confused" insofar as that they had no facility in north Seattle and she could not confirm the itinerary of their "care team." That was the end of my business with Cascade Memorial. Sarah indicated she would refund my payment but we will see about that. There is absolutely no excuse for wrong information about something so basic and verifiable as "have you picked up the body?". If your economic situation demands that you consider Cascade Memorial, all I can say is use Extreme Caution - even so far as witnessing the cremation. My confidence in their services is near zero. Buyer beware. Update: On the Friday after the stated events, Sarah emailed me a receipt for the credit return. By the following Wednesday morning, the return still was not processed to my credit account. I called and left her a message. She called back that morning to say how sorry she was about their "error" and that she had spoken with Heather who felt so bad about the "error" and that she had spoken with their financial department who said the refund could take a few days. We spoke for a few moments with me reiterating the above-mentioned facts. Sarah conveyed how she was so, so sorry, and "it was your mother" and such. I pointed out to her that it was my sister we were talking about and that pretty much ended the conversation. Buyer beware. read more
