Communications with Jared and Mike were good keeping me updated and prices are more than fair. FWIW, I drove about 2 hours to get there so yes, I feel it was worth the trip.

My daughter's Jeep Cherokee was having engine and transmission problems, which she had tried in vain to get diagnosed and repaired at other places. Luckily, by "word of mouth", we found out about Bard's, and we're so glad we did. The guys at Bard's were able to successfully diagnose and fix the problems that other shops couldn't. Moreover, they were a pleasure to work with, always ready to talk with us by phone as the work progressed. As a result, my daughter now has a problem-free Cherokee which runs like new. We are so glad we found Bard's, and we plan to make them our "go to" repair shop in the future.

I took my car here for paint work after somebody sideswiped my parked car in a lot. I had taken my…read moremother's car here before and they did a stellar job on hers. So I assumed mine would be the same. I was not as impressed with the job that they did on my vehicle. For starters, when I originally went in for an estimate, I got a ballpark estimate (I told them I would not hold them to the eyeball estimate they gave me in the parking lot) of around $500-600 and that it was about a 3-day job. I was under the impression by what I was told that they had to remove the bumper and paint the entire thing to get it to match the vehicle since the pant transfer and scratches covered part of the bumper and the front fender. I also received an estimate for my insurance company from another autobody shop, and I also got the impression from them that the bumper would be removed and fully painted. I dropped my vehicle off on a Tuesday, fully expecting that they would be finished by Friday or so. I waited until Monday to call them. It was at that time that I learned that the vehicle sat for three days and wasn't even assigned to a painter until Friday! I was told that a manager would call me that evening and explain to me why there was a mixup. I never got that call. I called back on Tuesday to explain to them that nobody contacted me on Monday evening. They eventually found a manager to talk to me and they profusely apologized and explained that they would get my vehicle done probably by Wednesday evening. Wednesday morning I got a call advising me that the job was done. I was kind of surprised because I expected it might take them a little bit longer. I wasn't as pressed about getting the vehicle back as I was making sure it was done correctly. So if they had to keep it for a week, I would've been fine with that as long as it was done right. When I arrived at the shop and looked over the paint job, I was not entirely impressed. There were what look like several dings from rocks, and there was even a smudge in the clearcoat, and there was also a line that looked like maybe the metal flake had flipped. When I addressed all of this with them, they pulled it into the shop to have the painter look at it. At that point, the vehicle died. They had to jumpstart it because apparently it sat for three days and I don't know if the lights were left on, or something like that. They cleaned up the front end and showed it to the painter who apparently thought it looked pretty good. When they pulled the vehicle out, the manager came out and discussed with me that my insurance company didn't pay to have the entire bumper painted, but only to have the paint blended in with the fender to match up. I was very shocked to say the least because the check from the insurance company and my deductible combined was approximately $900. I know that's not a lot of money when it comes to body work nowadays, but I would think it would cover the cost of removing the bumper, prepping it, shooting it, and covering it with clearcoat. There was absolutely no body damage anywhere on the car. It was merely a paint job. And I figured with the supplies and the amount of time that they spent painting it, it wouldn't come to $900, especially when I was told it was roughly a $500-600 job and the fact that they didn't even paint the whole thing! The paint work itself was decent, and they are all very nice people working there. But I don't know that I would take my vehicle there again. I was a little disappointed with what actually occurred compared to what I thought was going to happen. Maybe that was my misunderstanding, but I don't believe so.

From Someone Who Truly Cares About Their Car: DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!…read more I brought my car here for repairs after an accident, and the experience was absolutely horrible. First visit: They sent my car back with a dented door--despite alleging that they ordered a "new" door--and it didn't even align properly with the rest of the car. The window wouldn't roll all the way up. Yet this passed their quality control and they thought it was acceptable to return it in that condition. Second visit: The door wouldn't close fully unless SLAMMED shut. They scratched the window tint and hid that fact from me. My rear bumper was also scratched during removal. I waited days for their "specialist" to touch it up--only to find out it was the equivalent to someone using a paint pen from Advance Auto. The paint didn't match or blend at all. Also, the door lock mechanism was never reconnected. Third visit: They failed to hook up the side mirror sensor that alerts you when someone's beside your car. The door trim was improperly installed, leaving fabric edges exposed and causing water leaks inside. The fender and doors still don't align, and the window makes a worrying clanking noise when it hits the bottom--a terrible sound with expensive glass. I also told them that the trim was not properly installed on the bottom of the door, and it was returned to me the exact same way. Despite a verbal agreement to cover the cost of the scratched tint, they never followed through or responded to my inquiries. On top of everything, they never cleaned the interior--all three times, the car was covered in dust. Every other body shop I've been to at least blows the dust out before returning the vehicle. I reached out twice via email seeking resolution and never received a response. I have videos showing how badly the trim was replaced the the window sound (it won't let me upload them).

Both purchased my vehicle here and just went in yesterday for service. Got an excellent price on…read morethe vehicle and have been very happy with it. No problems for 4 years now. (It was used 1 year.) Yesterday's service is what most impressed me, though: I've been to 4 Kia dealerships in 4 different states with this vehicle, and this has been hands-down the best. I was served by J.R., who is an excellent communicator and a very patient and kind person. So often at dealerships I feel like the service rep is just spitting jargon at me so I'll worry and spend more money. J.R. did make recommendations for future service, but said nothing is urgent right now so I can go home and decide later if I want to. No pressure. Just informative, clear, and helpful. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because, over the phone, I was told that my safety recall fix would take 1 hour. When I arrived, I was told it could take up to 3 1/2 hours. That's a pretty big discrepancy, and suggests that the service department isn't communicating well with the ladies who take appointments. In the end, my visit lasted somewhere between 1 and 3 1/2 hours, but I had also added an oil change, a horn check, and a car wash in the meantime, plus J.R. warned me about the possible wait as soon as I arrived. So in the end the wait was understandable; I just think the ladies taking appointments need better information! Will definitely be back here for service in the future. I took my wife's car in for recall, warranty work and service. I was asked if I would like to have…read morethe engine air and cabin air filters changed. The filters I was shown were filthy. I was told that because the cabin air filter was so bad that it would need a Kia A/C Refresh and Evaporator Service. I said I would take care of the filters myself. On doing so I became aware that I was the target of a scam as the filter I pulled out had hardly and dirt/debris on them. It's a common scam and you people are doing it. You can not be trusted.
