We also wanted out house painted after installation and Clear Choice set that up for us as well. (See my review for Triple A Painting). What we loved most about dealing with Clear Choice Windows & Doors was the personalized service we received. They have a large selection of window frame materials to choose from and our choice of fiberglass was an easy one. It was explained to us that fiberglass windows are stronger than both vinyl and wood, making them incredibly resilient to weather and climate -- perfect for PNW homeowners. From start to finish, our team of window installers provided friendly service, excellent craftsmanship, and it took only two days to install the 10 new windows in our home. Before, during and after, the team cleaned up and kept the work site tidy at all times. There was minimal damage to our landscaping as well. We can feel a definite difference in the inside temperature of our house since the new windows were installed. Our AC doesn't seem to work as hard and it takes less time to cool off in the summer and to heat in the winter. BEWARE! I was just alerted by Oregon Contractors Board that Joe Gengler dba Woodcrafters, has NOT…read moreBEEN LICENSED SINCE 2012! (You can verify this and file your own complaint through calling CCB) His old contract number was 65835 so use this for reference. How did I come to care about this information? I purchased several custom doors for a local clients' office space in Keizer. After Joe Gengler came to the job site and measured all the door openings for the "custom" doors. Joe Gengler told me it would be a 7-10 day turn around. (I have this in a text message) The first set of doors were delivered months later and with horrible gouges in the wood and unsuitable for a paint job. The painter refused to paint such terrible doors and rightfully sent them back. After they were "fixed" and finally painted and delivered to the job site, they all had incorrect hinge holes. When Joe Gengler sent his crew to retrieve them, they didn't tie them down in the truck, they all fell over and several glass panes shattered. This delayed the time sensitive project for many more days, even weeks. To his credit, he did agree to "remake" the doors but only after verbalizing his anger to me about how much it was costing him. The "custom" doors were delivered a second time after little to no voluntary communication from Joe Gengler. The second set of "custom " doors took several more weeks and I had to closely monitor the shop to shop transport and do my own quality control for the benefit of my client. Once the new and 2nd set of doors arrived, my contractor began the install. Much to all of our HORROR ...every single "custom" door was approximately 2 inches too short! At this point, the 7-10 day turn around I was promised was now exceeding 3 months and I STILL had no suitable doors to offer my client. With no return communication once again, I went down to Woodcrafters to see Joe Gengler. He promised me in person that he "believed in customer service" and would "make it right." He then promised to go look at the doors the next day. HE NEVER SHOWED. The following Monday I got a call from him saying that there was nothing wrong with the doors and they were "industry standard." (They were supposed to be custom) Then he proceeded to gaslight me saying that"the front door had the same 2 inch gap" which it obviously did NOT! He refused to replace or fix them. My client is out $2008 dollars from Woodcrafters and with no offer for repayment or replacement. Joe Gengler also offers "cash tickets" which includes no invoice for your project. We only received a phone call from the poor "accountant" claiming that we had a balance (which we promptly paid in the beginning) Now I'm understanding why he doesn't want a paper trail. Don't get caught up in this kind of loss. Please do yourself a favor and find another shop to deal with. If not for you...for the sake of not supporting local retailers who are swindling your friends and community. Thanks for reading! Well...the quote for the windows was $5k. The quote to install them was $8k on top of that! Are you kidding me? After I stopped laughing I arranged to buy the windows but wanted to have Lifetime measure them to make sure that was done correctly. That price was $750 to come out and measure 3 windows! Begrudgingly I paid that just to be safe. The guy that came out to measure told me to just let them know if we had any install questions. The largest window came in two pieces. I reached out to find out if Milgard provides any kits or best-practice instructions for "mulling" the windows together to ensure a tight seal. Reached out again. And again. Finally got a call back to say "we're waiting on the Milgard rep and will get back to you"....well that never happened. Windows were installed and they are fine but the severe lack of follow up up by a company that will quote you $8,000 to install 3 windows left a very bad taste and we will look elsewhere for future window needs. RESPONSE TO OWNER: Sir, no amount of training, experience or insurance justifies $8,000 for installing 3 windows and your company's quote was nowhere near competive. I got two other quotes from outfits just as reputable as yours that were several thousand dollars less so you can step down from the pedestal....you're not the only reputable game in town. I would not be posting this review if the issue was soley cost. I can always go elsewhere for windows. Nor was I holding you accountable for installtion challenges. I was mainly holding you accountable for not following through when we were promised assistance with questions. There you failed. The main question was simply to ask if all the parts were there for the install. And since you didn't deliver my screens with the window delivery (I had to call back for those too), I'd say it was a valid question. BTW, being someone who mainly just posts negative reviews doesn't suggest anything about me or the honesty of my reviews. At noon, when no one had showed up, I called and the same unpleasant man didn't seem to care, saying only that there was a "break in" somewhere and they were dealing with that. OK, fine. Do you think you could have called me? An hour later some young guy shows up, looks at my door, and quotes me something like $300 for the replacement, and says he'll have to order the lock and that will take a week. Yeah... sure. I never heard from them again. No call, no one came by. I'm going to assume that the young guy never even ordered the lock because if he did they'd wonder why they have it hanging around, right? Right after that young guy left I called The Lock Guy. See that review, and call him if you want amazing service! Forget this place.

They had it ready fast and smoothed the edges of the glass so there was nothing sharp to get us. I took it home and while the glass was the size I requested, I had measured incorrectly and needed a teeny bit cut off all along one long edge of the glass. They didn't blink or complain--they recut the glass free and threw in multiple smiles to boot.
