100/10! PSA: make reservations ! Especially if you're coming to Carmel for a visit :) it does get quite busy during weekends. From the outside it looks like a small house but you walk in and it feels like you're in Europe. I literally dream about the cannelloni! Beautifully made and hits the spot every time I'm in town. It's a must get !! There's so much on the menu and everything is cooked to perfection. Definitely a spot to try when you're in the area!

My boyfriend took me here to celebrate our anniversary this year. We tried to make reservations at La Bicyclette but couldn't get one and saw online CasaNova was the sister restaurant so we decided to give it a try. We absolutely fell in love the place. The theme of the restaurant is so cute and cosey. The service was absolutely incredible. And the food was amazing! Our favorite was the Gnocchi CasaNova, extremely delicious. Wil definitely come back!

Khalida was excepcional! She did such a great job, is very knowledgeable of the menu. Highly recommend making reservations. We went on a Monday evening and it was busy. The food was soo good, we enjoyed every bite. Make sure to take a jacket, especially if you're sitting outside The heaters are on and I believe they have blankets too for the patio tables. I loved the vibe of this restaurant. We ordered oysters and they were very delicious. We also tried mushrooms and bone marrow and it was the best thing we tried 100/10. Everything we ate was delicious. Go check them ou

Visited Casanova with a large group for a work function and had a wonderful dinner outside. The crudo dish was delicious and the linguine was divine. Super buttery with large portions of seafood. I definitely did catch a minor first degree burn from briefly making contact with the plate but that is my own fault. Great wine list too, the largest I have seen in a long time

Tried out Casa Nostra over Memorial Day weekend. I ordered the mushrooms as an appetizer really tasty but for $25 you would expect a bigger portion. 2/5 I ordered the 8oz New York steak ($85) honestly super bland and definitely not worth the price. The steak was very chewy and the texture was tough. Came with spinach and baby potatoes. 2/5 My lady ordered the salmon with green peas, carrots, and a mustard sauce/dressing (around $65). Unfortunately that one wasn't much better either. 2/5 Only thing that really stood out was the Vans Old Fashioned cocktail that drink was actually really good. 5/5 Ambiance was decent, just really busy for a Monday because of Memorial Day weekend. Overall, probably wouldn't go back for the food. Total came out to roughly $250 after dessert!

We went here for our anniversary dinner, and it was amazing! We saw recommendations of this place on TikTok and in several guides when planning our trip to Carmel, and it definitely exceeded our expectations. We ordered the seafood pasta and lasagna, both of which were amazing and packed full of flavor. We paired it with a lovely Chardonnay as recommended by our waitress. The ambiance of the place is very old-world Italian villa vibes, and it is in a great location tucked away from the main street of Carmel. Would definitely come back here for a lovely local date night dinner!

Crudo, Gnocchi Casanova

Ambiance was good. Greeted with complimentary pour of bubbles for our anniversary. Service wasn't that great and it felt like we had to keep asking for things like water, the check, etc. Minimal check ins. Food was ok - not bad at all but nothing I need to get again. I wish we tried the fish because it smelled incredible. The gnocchi was good but pretty heavy. Mushrooms were delish. Crudo was good but incredibly tiny portion. The seafood linguine was a large portion and good. Glad we went but probably don't need to go back!

Glad I picked Casanova for our only night in Carmel and my bday dinner . I had visited over the years but last time was a while ago, the menu has improved considerably and we loved everything The food was outstanding Service was gracious, kind , very attentive people work there and makes sure everyone is having a good experience We sat in the front patio , plenty of tables and dog friendly, it was a fall evening and started getting cold but they have heat lamps. Such a treat

I really enjoyed my dinner at Casanova but overall was let down. We were celebrating a special occasion, and given how much we spent, I would've liked something special or a free dessert. Anyways, I have also been here before and the quality of the food was a bit of a miss. Tapenade with bread: 7.5/10 There were three pieces of bread and the tapenade was not good. Bread was really good though. Burrata: 9/10 Fresh and great combo with the peaches and plums. Lamb: 7/10 Flavor was really good but for $80 it's two pieces of lamb and they were 20% fat and 50% bone. Mushrooms were delicious though. Wagyu: 6/10 Not sure how you can call this wagyu when it was so tough! It also has weird bits of tough lining. Not worth $100. Gnocchi: 7/10 Was super disappointed as I have dreamt about eating this again. The gnocchi crumbled because it was overcooked and the cheese was super thin and the sauce was super liquid. Very bummed overall.

Casanova is soaked with history. Charli Chaplins cool lived here until she passed and the property was purchased and remodeled by the current owners. Not much to look at from the outside it is full of romantic charm inside. There is a large tree growing right in the middle of the restaurant making the establishment mostly open air. Casanova has the largest wine selection in Carmel and also has a sommelier. Unfortunately the wine cellar was having work done so we could not see it. We reserved Van Gogh's Table. Yes it is the table Van Gogh had meals at during his last days. No it's not just a room named after Van Gogh. The table was acquired in 2002 and can be reserved. Eating at the table was far more rewarding than looking at a piece of art or walking through a historical building. Service was fast and courteous we had no complaints. Our meal was excellent. The macerated beet salad was won of the best I gave had. The local caught salmon was also excellent. Prices are high and portions are not large but the romantic ambience is undeniable.

Amazing food, adorable atmosphere in Carmel! What a cute restaurant! This spot perfectly captures the charm of Carmel by the Sea. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is cute and cozy, and the service is friendly and helpful. This place is really popular. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. Don't miss this gem!

The restaurant is set up with a tree in the middle which was very good. We started with mushrooms that had the same sauce as escargot which was delicious and baked Bri with honey. Then I got the linguini and that was absolutely delicious. Service was quick and attentive - highly recommend!

Is there a private or semi private room for a group of 15 people or so?

No. It's a very small restaurant in general so you'll feel like your group is already the main customers there. I think they can fit maybe a total of 40 customers at a time. I went for my bday with a group of 8

Yes!

What are some of the top recommended food here at Casanova? Is there anything that is a must-try on the menu?

I particularly loved the gnocchi appetizer--though I have really enjoyed everything on the Casanova restaurant menu. We live in the Northwest now and travel through Carmel about once a year. It's a must visit. We love to sit in the semi-outdoor…

We visited there on the recommendation from a sommelier in Paso Robles based on their excellent sparkling wines. You have choice of ordering a glass of any of the wines or the tasting flight. My partner decided to go with a glass of the Brut Rose whilst I chose the tasting flight (5 wines for $40). All of the wines here are expertly made and of a beautiful style. I can't say there wasn't a wine here that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. The Brut Rose is a beautiful champagne style rose. The Rose of Pinot Noir was also excellent. A fantastic light yet flavorful wine. The chardonnay was also excellent and of a beautiful style with just a touch of oak. Next was their Passetoutgrain, which is a blend of gamay noir and pinot noir. Also in the tasting were two pinot noirs, the base pinot noir and the El Bec. Both were beautiful expressions of pinot noir. Wonderful balance of fruit, earth and spice. Finally, we had to try the Brut Cuvee, which is only offered by the glass. A truly beautiful wine reminiscent of the Champagne region. Service was from a couple of friendly and very knowledgeable attendants. The glassware here is beautiful and perfect for the wine served. The wines were all served at the proper temperature. And the pours were of a generous volume such that you could fully experience the wines. If you're in Carmel, you owe it to yourself to visit Caraccioli.

The tasting room itself is on the smaller side, with a stylish, cozy interior with TVs and private tables. I happened to stop by at a quiet time and was seated comfortably at the bar. The gentleman who helped me was relatively new, but you wouldn't have known it since he was incredibly knowledgeable and well-spoken, providing detailed descriptions of each wine on my tasting flight and answering all my questions without hesitation. I enjoyed the wines enough that I ended up purchasing a couple of bottles once I learned they could conveniently ship them to me. My only disappointment was that some of the higher-end wines weren't available to sample, which made it harder to justify buying a $100+ bottle without trying it first. That said, I completely understand the policy (but I definitely could have been sold on one if I could sample it and it was great). So far, I've visited three tasting rooms in the area, and Albatross Ridge might just be my favorite. Great service, delicious wines, and a relaxed vibe. It's definitely worth a visit.

As a local, I sincerely appreciate a seasonal menu with a variety of options. So many restaurants in the area play it safe and it's great to have a new restaurant that doesn't just fall into the mold of a steak house or Italian spot. The wine list, either by the bottle or glass, is vast and I believe they said they had 50 wines by the glass. That's a serious offering compared to nearly every other place I've tried in the area. We did a lot of shared plates so I was able to sample a vast percentage of their menu. Everything was fantastic, and some things were so great, we placed another order of the same dish. I was a huge fan of their Louisiana Karaage. The seasoning was amazing and the chicken fried to perfection. The side of slaw was also extremely notable. We went in with pretty high hopes but ended up feeling underwhelmed by the offerings. A lot of the wines tasted watered down, mild, and somewhat similar to one another. The charcuterie and cheese pairing was also disappointing, especially when compared to Napa, where tastings often feature thoughtfully curated cheeses and meats paired with each wine. That said, the staff were very kind and informative. They explained each wine carefully and in an engaging way, which definitely helped make the experience enjoyable overall. Ultimately, though, the wines themselves were underwhelming and none of them really WOW'd us.
