My cousin passed away and his widow decided to have his wake at casa Soto. This was my first time there. Since we were a large private party they set us up in the back and then had a buffet style serving area for us. The waitresses were all great and the unsweetened tea was very tasty. Food wise the peach cobbler was excellent but that's where it stopped. The actual food was not so great. It wasn't the worst but it was very bland and disappointing. I love Mexican but while I'm not a fan of Taco Bell or those types of restaurants I wouldn't place this much higher. My friend and I are visiting for the weekend and we stopped here for some Mexican food and drinks. We were greeted and seated promptly. We were brought out chips, quest, and salsa. Everything in the setup was delicious! The salsa has such a nice kick to it! The yellow cheese was thick and creamy. We then ordered a margarita on the rocks (normally I don't like them if there is too much sweet and sour and I didn't think it was too much). For dinner I got the chicken and steak fajitas with elote )Mexican corn but it fell a little short of what my normal expectation is of elote. I'm used to corn on the cob rolled in Mayo and delicious seasoning however it wasn't bad just not what I was expecting. I also got the black beans and they were good as expected. The flour and corn tortillas were good as well. The portions are generous. My friend got the beef chalupas with Elote and papas con chorizo (this was delicious if you like chorizo). Everything was good! We were told they had drink specials and we decided to get their draft DOS EQUIS and honestly the best draft beer I've ever had. Full of flavor, not flat at all, and ice cold delicious. The staff were all so friendly and helping out all the tables together and they seemed to really work well together. Not a single frown or attitude in that place. The service was fantastic! The store has beautiful pottery for sale in the entry way that are very reasonable in price! First off if I could give a place 10 stars, I would give Casa Soto 10. The complimentary salsa they serve was spectacular packed with flavor and freshness. The Raspberry Tea is the BOMB (not too sweet and not to unsweet)!!! Pollo Mexicano is to die for! With whatever peppery and smokey flavor they throw into it...IT WORKS and is soooo Good! Burrito Grande with chicken instead of beef. The chicken in this burrito is soooooo MOUTHWATERING AND NOT TO MENTION JUICY and FLAVORFUL!!! We made a quick dinner stop in route to Oklahoma on 8/10/19. This cute little restaurant is located by the freeway. They immediately greeted us at the front and found us a table. The restaurant has a lot of seating area. They provide you with chips and salsa as most typical Mexican restaurants do. I ordered the Carne Asada plate and the meat was very delicious and juicy. It was accompanied by rice, beans and sliced fried potatoes. My family all enjoyed the meal and the service provided. I would definitely recommend the food. The restrooms are maintained clean. Plenty of parking and as you enter the restaurant they have authentic Mexican pottery which I assume is for sale if interested to buy. read more

This is our go-to spot in Weatherford. We are transplants from the Northeast, used to eating in suburbia and the occasional splurge in NYC. There are lots of Mexican and Tex-Mex spots in town. We had a bad experience at El Patio once (way too salty) and to be honest, I haven't tried Pecina's nor the new one that opened up on Main St. where the Italian spot used to be (or they call themselves Italian; that's another review). The food is delicious--chicken, beef, and pork in any form are cooked to perfection. Generous portions, accommodating staff, and great owner. She'll happily help with suggestions and substitutions. Guisado, the pork stew, is great. Chips and dips are free and tasty. Churros are warm and cheap (get the plain, not the stuffed IMHO). Casa Soto was a delightful surprise for my father and I while we passed through town in search of food that would satisfy my fathers picky appetite. I ordered the chicken taquitos, which I shared with my daughter (she loved the beans and rice) and my dad ordered the chicken tacos. We LOVED our food and the portions were generous. I saw on Yelp that Casa Soto had four stars. I was in town on business and stopped in for some lunch. The inside and outside is very festive looking and clean. I was seated immediately and the waitress asked if I knew about their lunch buffet, which I did not, I walked over to the buffet to see what they had. The buffet consisted of beans, rice, tacos, tamales, enchiladas and dessert. I chose to order off the menu since I love chili Relleno's. I ordered the lunch special which was one cheese chili Relleno, one ground beef taco hardshell, beans and rice, I opted out of rice. The chili Relleno was a poblano pepper stuffed with Monterey Jack cheese, lightly breaded, fried golden brown and topped with Ranchero sauce (Per my request) normally they use cheese sauce. The chili Relleno was delicious, I really enjoyed it . The ground beef hardshell taco was generously stuffed with tasty ground beef, lettuce and very little grated cheddar cheese . Traveler from California here, specifically the San Francisco Bay Area, where rent is high as hell and the high-quality, unique gastronomical offerings are endless. At first I was skeptical, coming from an area with some pretty great Hispanic food, but I definitely like to give non-chain restaurants a try and try new things. Still, we're in semi- rural Oklahoma where the only options are a Sonic and McDonalds, and I'll trust the person from LA giving a great review. Portions were generous, service was efficient and pleasant, and the interior was very and bright and welcoming. Bathrooms were super roomy and clean. Soto's has been at this location since the mid-80s and it's run by a local family. The food is good and reasonably priced. Service is usually good and the kitchen doesn't make you wait too long. A selection of beers and you can get a margarita. Fresh, homemade tortilla chips and good salsa. Friday at lunch is a buffet. They are closed on Sundays. Parking is a bit tight in their parking lot, but you can park on the street behind their building or across the street in the city hall parking lot. read more

I want to start this review by saying I have no idea what Don H. is smoking but he is extremely biased for the fact that he hasn't been out of Weatherford lately. I'm a Texas boy and let me tell you that Casa Soto is not even close to being authentic to TexMex. Second off, Casa Soto is by far the worst Mexican restaurant in town in my opinion. The food here is extremely bland and doesn't have that special touch, much less a human touch. The waiters are college kids and management has decided to cut back on their costs of properly training them. They don't seem to care much about the customer. I've dined in four times with friends and have tried four different menu items and was thoroughly disappointed with all of them. It doesn't help that the old woman that runs the register is unfamiliar with credit and debit card law and refuses to ring things up under $5. Hopefully you read this: THAT IS AGAINST YOUR AGREEMENT WITH THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY. This happened to me and not only is it embarrassing but it's not legal to do with the company. Another bad experience I had occured with take out! How on earth you can screw this up is beyond me but let me explain what they did. I placed an order around 6:00 pm on a Friday for a chicken quesadilla, french fries, and a side of beans and rice. I wait 35 minutes like they told me and I arrive to find out they hadn't sent the order out. The old woman told me they would start the order now that I was there. I said no that's not how take out is supposed to work and to not send the order in because I was going somewhere else. I still blows me away that people continue to go here and not Vinicio's. Fast and friendly service. They provide free chips and salsa while you wait for your meal. When our chips were nearly gone, we had three different waiters ask if we would like a refill.
