The food was good, presentation of the plate very good. Service was fairly good, cost about average. Dining area was nice and plenty room.

The food was marginal and the service was even worse. The young man who waited on us was more interested in talking to his friends and co-workers than actually doing his job. It took forever to get our order taken and to get our ticket at the end. We didn't get any drink refills without asking. It's an ok location and the place was kinda clean. Didn't seem really dirty but wasn't pristine. I don't see ever eating here again when I'm in town. read more

Horrible, worst Mexican restaurant I've been to in all my 66 years. Food was awful and the margaritas even worse. Run from this one.

The absolute worst food and drinks we've ever experienced. Not just Mexican food but restaurant food in general. The Margaritas tasted like they were made from funky swampy liquid. No taste of lime or like any other Margaritas ever served. They weren't green. They were gray. My D.I.L. and I ordered taco salads with beef. The beef had the texture of something out of a can that had busted open. The seasoning tasted nothing like any taco flavor I've ever tasted. I've had much better flavored taco meat from an envelope of cheap taco seasoning. The "salad" underneath that nightmare was not fresh and tasted like boiled cabbage and mayo. It was disgusting. My husband and son ordered fajitas. They did not come out of the kitchen sizzling with fresh green peppers and onions seared, hot, fresh, and juicy. They came to us on the typical skillet but looked like they had been made the week before, frozen, defrosted, and barely warmed with tea candles. Thrown on a cold skillet as if the person "cooking" had a grudge with the owner and just did not give a damn. The sides were barely edible and the drinks were making me wish I had some activated charcoal in my purse in case any of us started turning green. The only decent things were the grandkids chicken strips and fries. The service was very good and when I talked to the owners son he was polite and professional. He comped the two taco salads and only charged us half for the drinks. The fact that we had to pay at all was insanity and just goes to show you how desperate this place must be for a buck. We tipped our server the usual 20% of course. It wasnt his fault. The other servers seemed very cheerful and also professional. We were very disappointed. I was shocked at how bad it was. Ive had better dining experiences at Nedicks in the old Penn Station in nyc. The ambience was nice. Its a big place and should have been much busier. I wonder why it wasnt. Hmmmm. We wont be back. This was the second mexican restaurant in Farmington we've tried and they were both terrible but this was worse. Much worse. To the owner... dude, close that kitchen and rethink your kitchen crew, your food purveyors, your Margarita mix, and your life choices. I said it. I didn't take pictures. I never want to see that mess again. That food I'd gonna kill somebody some day. read more

Casa Sol is always very good! We prefer it as the best Mexican restaurant in Farmington

Great place! I love Mole sauce, and this place has probably one of the top 3 Mole's in Missouri, in my opinion. Super dark and complex, I found myself eating it on chips and tortillas long after the chicken was gone. Beans and rice were great too, and friendly service. Would definitely recommend! read more

Casa Sol - Chicken with Mole sauce--delicious! - Mexican Near Me - Farmington, Missouri

Impressive place, nestled into the corner of a historic factory building. I like owners who find new uses for old landmarks. There's separate bar and restaurant sections--lots of space. Attentive service too. We found the food tasty, with generous servings from the plate dinners to the margaritas. Thumbs up to the huevos con chorizo and the polo loco. Nicely done chips with slightly spicy salsa. With the historic setting, friendly service, generous servings and very reasonable prices--what more could you want in a small town Mexican place. Except to say--give us more of that! read more

My wife and I were there some months ago, and we weren't impressed. Time had passed. We'd heard Casa Sol had a supper buffet on weekends, so we thought we'd try it. To our pleasant surprise, it was good! She had huckleberry tea, and I had a large "top shelf" margarita - both drinks were weaker than we prefer - but the food was pretty good. Limited selections available on the buffet, but the flavors of what we tried were good. Hours after limited, but there is a buffet for both lunch and supper. You can order other, non-buffet items from the menu. read more

Mary our server is an absolute delight! She was so helpful and very attentive. The food is authentic. ( This family operated business has deep roots in Oaxaca.) I love mole and they have the most authentic rich mole I have found to date. This is not just mole poured out of a jar. Everything was fresh. This is a great hidden gem in The Factory tucked away off of the Main Street in historic Farmington. Make sure to ask for Mary! read more

Casa Sol never disappoints. They're fast, friendly, and the food is fantastic. Their mole is especially good, and their margs are fabulous.

The food and margaritas were great! The restaurant is in a historic building that has been renovated, which was very cool. And, loved driving through the small town and seeing the character of all the homes. read more

Food is always good and great service. Most authentic Mexican food in the area. The owner is very friendly and still has family in Mexico.

We love the chips and salsa here...the chips come out warm, they're so light and crispy and the salsa has just the right amount of spice. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant is full of Mexican decor, they play Mexican music overhead. There is a bar separate from the restaurant as well. It's family owned and operated, and family friendly. read more

The best Mexican restaurant in the area. The food is fantastic and we've always had great service.

The place is a little hard to find. Coming down A street, it is located in a warehouse type building with the entrance on one end. At first I was disappointed after reading the reviews as the salsa was very disappointing. Very tomato-y and not a lot of of chunky-ness. I eventually got into it and it had a good kick. The chips very thin, fresh and crispy. But this was heading towards 1-2 stars on the salsa alone. I ordered the regular fajita with the meat combo. I usually like meat combos to get to sample all. In this case the combo included chicken, steak and shrimp. It was not a huge portion, but was fantastic. The chicken and steak seemed fresh slices and grilled just for this serving. The shrimp was good as well. The fajitas made this a place to come back to and saved this review. The service was just ok, but not really any issues, either. read more

Great spot, the new bar area is very inviting. Owner Adam has a great selection of Tequilas and personal background knowledge about many of them. The food is delicious and the staff very happy to customize your order. Don't be shy about asking for your favorite sauce i.e. salsa verde, queso, pico de Gallo. Mexican steak tacos, tostados, and Chili rellenos some of our favorites. read more

I brought the wife here the other day for dinner we walked in and didn't see any maitre d our Hostess we stood there for a couple minutes waiting for someone. When no one showed up we decided to seat ourselves. We were sitting there for a good 5 or 7 minutes before two people walked out looked at us and then walked over to the door and seated this other couple that had just walked in they went and got the menus and proceeded to take the order. They walked by my me and my wife a couple times and just gave us dirty looks and never brought us a menu so after 10 minutes of sitting there we decided to leave. I really can't recommend this place if that's how they're going to treat guests read more

Casa Sol - Not sure what the food is like here - Mexican Near Me - Farmington, Missouri

I've been here twice. It's a very spacious restaurant with a cool bar that's tucked into it's own room, so you don't have to worry about getting too loud talking/watching sports. Their chimichangas are delicious! A group of us all ended up ordering them once, and no complaints.***** The burritos we tried on a separate lunch break were kind of boring. *** Make sure to try Adam's Tequila. He takes basic tequila and infuses it with chunks of agave/sugar cane/very dark cherries/possibly spices/secret ingredients from Mexico. Great stuff! You can also pick up a bottle of it to go as I did with some buddies last May for a party! ***** read more

Fantastic Mexican restaurant. The best in the area. Friendly. Try the green tamales and the chile relleno. Prices are great. Located in a beautiful old building, The Factory in Farmington, a restored 80 year old clothing factory. Casa Sol is off the Art Gallery. read more

Really enjoyed our dinner. I had steak tacos rice and beans. Steak was flavorful tender. Love the rice fluffy with flavor. I'm from Cali we have good Mexican food Never thought Missouri would match it. Staff was very busy. Restaurant was full. Salsa was great. read more

Very disappointing....missed all of the basics that a Mexican restaurant should provide. Poor service....holy cow, when I asked if they had draft beer, I was told yes....when I asked for something local the response was "you mean like a bud light"? Turns out, there is no draft beer and nothing locally brewed. Chips were cold, out of a bag (actually various brands....thin chips, thick chips, multicolor chips), The salsa (and I will swear to this) was Campbell Tomato soup mixed with canned picante sauce....awful is the only way to describe it. We had to ask to get our soft drinks refilled...Actually when I asked to have mine filled, she left my friends 3/4 empty drink on the table. I guess that each patron has to physically ask to get that refill??? When the food showed up....it looked awesome. I ordered the Carne Azada (which the waitress announced was "a really weird name for steak!" when I ordered). The presentation was nice and the food appeared well cooked....unfortunately, the food had absolutely no seasoning, it was bland and no amount of table salt could fix the issue.....sad. Don't bother with this one. read more

Casa sol ah the Sweet Taste of success. Adam the owner is one of the best friends I've ever met I have photos that are taken in his previous Civil War hands down one of the best Mexican foods around I would recommend it to anyone give it a try if not satisfied I don't know make sure that I'm telling you I was going there today she deserves it read more

Best Farmington Mexican restaurant! Why do I like it? 1. THE FOOD! Very authentic, fast and flavorful 2. THE ATMOSPHERE in the Factory with exposed brick and historic wood beams the architecture is great. 3. SEATING OPTIONS there is a non-smoking and smoking option but this place is great because the sections are in separate rooms - no one is unhappy. 4. THE STAFF they're great and always make sure you are taken care of. Be sure to try Casa Sol. read more

Farmington, Missouri. The salsa and tortilla chips were quite good. I ordered tacos pastor and was disappointed that the pork was cooked in some sort of sauce that completely hid the flavor of the pork. There were the usual cilantro and onions, but no lime. The tacos came with a spoonful of guacamole (which was a new one to me) but it was tasty. My sister had cheese enchiladas, which I sampled. It was most surprising to me to find they were made with flour tortillas. The sauce was sparse and not very flavorful. Overall, the enchiladas were disappointing. I would call this a very average Mexican restaurant. read more

Casa Sol is a very good place to get some authentic Mexican food. I have not had a dish that I did not like. I usually get a combination plate or the fajitas. After waiting for 30 minutes with no service, no menu, no drinks, and just a basket of chips we chose to leave. I've always had decent enough guys food here, but 3 people at our table ordered tacos al pastor. They instead received plain pork tacos and were told that they wouldn't fix it because they didn't specify al pastor. I heard them all say al pastor as did 3 other people. My tamales were fine, but this is absurd. I've never been treated this way in a restaurant and will never come here again. Update: The back of house staff is now attempting to audibly blame the new waitress and make her pay for it (while still not giving us what we ordered)...again, won't be coming here again. Crack houses in Juarez are better organized. read more

We got there early at about 2:30 so there wasn't many people in eating yet. My wife and I are biking across the US so the locals said this was a good place to eat. My wife had a burrito and I had a chimichanga both with chicken. And it wasn't the shredded chicken it was chunks of whole chicken! The service was great and chips were light and fluffy. We're staying at Al's place hostel so the walk was only about a minute away perfect. So anyone biking across the U S stay at the hostel and go to DE Soto Mexican restaurant! You will leave satisfied in full! read more

Love this place. The food is so good. I always get the enchiladas and my guy always gets the soft tacos. Very good service.

I took my daughter here for a fun mom and daughter lunch. I ordered the fajitas and she got the enchiladas. We ended up switching plates because her food had a terrible taste. She's 8 so I thought maybe it was her perspective. It was not. It was bland and tinny. There were five tables occupied and none of them received service in a timely manner. read more
