We tried Casa Real yesterday and had a great experience. We decided we'd be dining there again soon half way through our meals. Food and drinks were outstanding with large portions especially given that we ordered from the lunch menu. Chips and Salsa were tasty. My wife had the chicken quesadilla and I had the Pollo Loco which is basically chicken Fajitas served on a bed of rice with a white cheese sauce. Our meals were prepared relatively quickly and both were outstanding. Ingredients all seemed very fresh. Our server came by several times to check in on us. Just the right amount of attention. The ambiance was great, comfortable seating, beautifully decorated and the slightly subdued lighting we favor. Pricing was very reasonable with each meal running less than $20. read more

Casa Real has continued to evolve in their offerings. It had been a while since I had visited, but the experienced remains the same - great service, great vibes, great food. Since my last visit, a stage had been built for live entertainment. I went to watch the FIFA World Cup and it was so fun. The sound was on, the crowd was great. They have a lot of creative drinks on their menu. I had an Espresso Martini and the presentation was so fun. They come by and place a smoke bubble on it in front of you. They give you complimentary chips and salsa and their salsa was so fresh and delicious. The chicken fajitas were delicious - generous portion of chicken breast that is well seasoned. There's plenty of green peppers and onions and the side plate of beans, rice etc. was great. The flan is now served with a grilled orange which gave the dessert a really nice citrus type of flavor. We recently visited Casa Real and absolutely loved the atmosphere--the decor is beautiful and really sets the vibe for a great dining experience. The service was excellent from start to finish. They offer live music on certain days. We didn't stay for it this time, but the setup looked like it was going to be a great experience, and I'd definitely plan to catch it next visit. As for the food--everything we tried was delicious. My husband ordered the calamari and the wedge salad, and he said it was probably one of the best wedge salads he's ever had. Our daughter had the carne asada tacos and loved them as well. I tried a few different items, but my favorite was hands down the guacamole with crab meat--it was so good and something I'm still thinking about. Overall, such a great experience. We decided to try a new spot to watch a World Cup match, and I'm so glad we stopped at Casa Real. We enjoyed everything-the food, the ambiance, and the service. Betty took care of us from the beginning. She was on top of everything, super friendly, and her recommendations were spot on. I enjoyed their happy hour (every day 2pm-5pm). I tried an 805 and a Modelo Negra-both served at that perfect cold temperature that hits right away. For food, we started with the guacamole with crab as an appetizer, and it was delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and a great start. Then we had the molcajete lunch, and everything in it was perfect-the asada, pork, chicken, and shrimp. Paired with grilled onions, cheese, and more guacamole, it was packed with flavor and super satisfying. For dessert we had flan and fried ice cream! I am so excited to post this review. The pescado tacos are beyond good. The flour tortillas were so soft and fresh. The crisp cabbage and and sauce were a perfect complement to the fish. So I was heading to a sushi place and saw this place next door. All of a sudden I was in the mood for a margarita and chips with salsa. Upon walking in the joint the aesthetics were gorgeous and inviting. Naturally I fell under the assumption that the food would be pretentious with bougie prices. I was wrong on both counts. It was happy hour so I ordered a lime margarita for $5.99! When it arrived it wasn't a dumbed down happy hour version. It looked like the real deal. And most importantly it was very refreshing and not obnoxiously sweet. My server was a delightful young lady called Betty. She was very knowledgeable of the food and provided information of events Casa Real had to offer. I opted for the Chiles Rellenos with a generous asada topping. Wow what a treat it was! It was so delicious! The refried beans was flavorfully creamy but not heavy. You know when a Mexican joint has good frijoles everything else is going to be awesome. The prices are very reasonable. Nowadays, because food costs are higher, restaurants seem to follow the trend of over-gouging the prices on the menu. It's fitting to raise the prices a bit due to higher food costs but not to the extent that most places do. Not only did I get a quality dish, the presentation was impeccable as well. I've been wanting to try their steak Quesadilla for sometime and today was my first order. I went on their website and picked what I wanted. A Steak and cheese Quesadilla was priced at $11.54 They give you Guacamole but only enough for 1 slice. There wasn't enough pico de gallo for 1/2 a slice so in essence I didn't have any sauces to put on it. When my husband went to pick it up he was charged $18.00. Casa Real has been my Yelp Collection list for a few months. My husband and I decided to grab some lunch at Casa Real on a Friday around 11:00 A.M. Casa Real is located off of Craig/95N. It's next to Tommy's Hamburgers and a few other businesses. There is ample amount of parking available. We were the second party to be seated at Casa Real. The décor and ambiance are beautiful inside Casa Real. This restaurant had an abundance of stylish décor, creating a vibrant environment to eat at! It was one of the coolest restaurants I've been to in a while. Once we were seated at a booth, the team member at Casa Real brought over complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were still warm! The salsa was a mild red salsa. I didn't get too much spice from it! Looking over their lunch specials menu, my husband and I decided to pick out the following Fiesta Lunch: $13.99 - One Chicken Tamale, One Beef Taco, One Cheese Enchilada, Rice and Beans. Lunch Fajitas: $17.99 Chicken Fajitas, serviced with rice, beans lettuce, Pico de Gallo, Sour Cream, and 2 Tortillas For an appetizer, we ended up getting some guacamole! The guacamole came out immediately! It was actually the best dish that we had at Casa Real! It was mixed with avocados, onions, and tomatoes, and had perfect seasonings in it! It was delicious! Shortly afterward, our entrees came out. My husband had the Fiesta Lunch. All of the parts of the dish were good. The highlight of it was the enchilada. The flavor was scrumptious! The Chicken Fajitas were burnt, unfortunately! I was so looking forward to the Chicken Fajitas! All of the chicken tasted like rubber. The sour cream was missing as well from the Fajita plate. When I asked for a side of sour cream from the team member, they ended up charging us an additional $1.50 for the sour cream even though it was supposed to be included in the Fajitas! She gave me some menu recommendations. I ended up ordering a few beef and chicken tacos. The food came quickly and the server checked on me a few times. I liked the fact that this restaurant was able to sub fries for the beans. Unfortunately I was not impressed with this food. The taco sauce was salty as heck and the chicken pieces were cold. While the decor is great, and the service is great - the menu was misleading. The portion sizes were not in keeping with the price. The "beef" was ground beef. For 17.99 - I expected shredded - should have known better. The burrito was a 10 inch shell, with only ground beef in it. no cheese, rice, etc. For the size and the price - honestly I'd rather go to Del Taco. We visited on Friday for lunch with a party of three and it was a nice experience. We arrived and were seated right away in a booth and the waitress took our drink orders. The beer was frosty cold and the fish bowl margarita was nice and strong. The chips and salsa were fresh and tasty. We ordered Cheese Dip with Chorizo, and it was not really blended. Half was a soup, half was a glob of cheese goo. It tasted ok, just not consistent. We then went with the Shrimp Plate and the Molcajete. The sauce on the shrimp was outstanding, but the shrimp was very mushy and hard to peel away from the shell. I ended up eating the shell on most pieces. The Molcajete was huge and nicely prepared. The service was very good, the waitress was friendly, prompt, and professional. The food, overall, was ok, but not great and a bit pricey. Not a bad place to visit for good Mexican food. read more

so happy I found this gem! Brought the fam here when I came across here on yelp and so glad I did! We came here on a Wednesday night and it wasn't too packed but it was football night and my dad is a big sports guy lol. He happily sat himself near the tvs so he had a perfect view and the staff were more than accommodating letting us select our seats. Their menu has many options to choose from. They also have a great drink menu option as well from beers, to frozen margaritas. ( pro tip - happy hour is 2-5pm!) For food I tried the ceviche trio with Ceviche of Camaron, Ceviche of pescado and Ceviche Real. They were all delicious and had great flavors. For my plate I got the chicken fajitas which came out sizzling. Now, I have had a lot of fajitas all over town but these were by far the best flavored chicken fajitas I have ever had. They start you off with complimentary chips and salsa. (not the best but also not the worst....still complimentary so.....that's ok) I think I hit one of the gems on the menu.....The salmon a la plancha.....It's also generously sized but what makes it special are all the delicious flavors.....Smashed pumpkin seeds. really great plantains, mango salsa, another salsa, fresh asparagus, a white rice that was slightly sweet and slightly risotto like. This really was a great plate and could easily be in a very fine very expensive restaurant. It was very good but would have been outstanding if the salmon was cooked slightly less. I would still come back and get it again because of the flavors. My husband tried a combo fajita (beef, chicken, shrimp). It was also very generous in size. Some parts of it were better than other parts. My husband said that the beans were very good. Our server was nice and attentive. The margaritas we tried were strong. We live right in the Craig and Tenaya area, and there is a sudden burst of new Mexican restaurants in the area! Casa Real is a real one though, with happy hour and lunch specials (Monday through Saturday til 2), and a large menu of options. The location is also welcoming and decorated with care, and a recent visit had a variety of dia de los muertos statues on display. Service was polite and professional. They have tables and booths, and we were seated in a large corner booth since we had a stroller and child with us. They brought out fresh chips and salsa to start. We tried a couple of the lunch specials (Fiesta combo and Pollo Loco?) and enjoyed what we had - portions are generous, and the cheese dip on the chicken was tasty. My husband enjoyed the tamale on the combo plate, but I did not care for the red sauce on the enchilada. The tortillas were a touch oily but the flavors of everything else were pretty on point. Stumbled across Casa Real after only having the cheese fundito at Carolinas Kitchen(we felt bad and felt like we had to order something instead of walking out). What we came across was an actual appetizing menu and a more conventional staples versus your family's favorite tacos. I had ended up getting the carnitas plate and my gf ended up getting the steak fajitas. Everything was delicious and full of flavor. And on top of that, the menu was reasonably priced and the portions were filling. This place is everything that it is and nothing that it's trying to be. The decor and at atmosphere felt inviting and the hosts was nice and attentive. Glad this worked out because now it's one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in the city. read more
