This was my second time at Casa Ramos (Rancho Cordova). The thing I absolutely love about this restaurant more than anything is the customer service. I wasn't impressed the first time with the food but, I went back because my play dad loves this place. The second time I ordered fajitas and they were really good. I enjoyed them much more than the quesadilla I ordered the first time. My sister ordered this dish photographed in the picture. She said the Roseville location makes it MUCH MUCH better. We will definitely go back because dad is getting up there in age and this place makes him happy and like I said the staff is wonderful. Oh and so are the margaritas!

NO STARS. Ambiance: Typical Mexican decor. Service: There was one male who took my order and dropped it off. That is it. There was a female (who I think was in training). She seated me, brought me chips and drink. She ask if I needed anything. She was attentive. I actually wrote of the receipt that she should get the tip and NOT the guy. Food: I broke one of my rules. If you don't see anyone from the culture of the restaurant eating at the restaurant then Don't Eat there. By far the worst Mexican Restaurant I have ever experienced. Worse than Taco Bell. I ordered a Pollo Fundido. It was to have seasoned chicken inside a crispy flour tortilla. Topped with Cream Cheese and Cheddar Cheese. It was soft, the chicken was not seasoned at all; not even with pepper and salt. And they didn't put Cream Cheese on it. And they actually used Kraft American (not real cheese) on it. See the picture. If you want worse food than Taco Bell then eat here. Can't see this place being in business much longer.

Hola I would like to share that the food that casa Ramos is great and I'm only talking about my play that can't comment on my family please. We're here to celebrate mother's Day the atmosphere is is nice the staff are amazing very polite with great public relations. The only constructed criticism that I might have would be on my cilantro rice it was just a little hard but with lots of flavor so if you're looking to go to an authentic Mexican restaurant there would be at casa Ramos great place to go with family and friends!

Lunch Steak Fajitas- Casa Romos, Rancho Cordova, CA - February 27, 2025

Casa Romos Mexican Restaurant, Rancho Cordova, CA - February 27, 2025 I've always enjoyed coming to this restaurant. It definitely has a festive Mexican restaurant vibe with warm paneled walls, vaulted wood-beemed ceiling, colorful red, green, and yellow flags draped about, a decorative stuffed parrot sitting on a perch hanging from the ceiling, colorful floral wood carvings, potted plants here and there, and a pinada hanging from the ceiling. Spacious booth-style and movable seat-style tables fill the dining area, and there is a classic margarita bar in one corner and on the far side of the restaurant with high top tables and big screen TVs showing soccer games. We arrived around 1:30 for a late lunch. There was only one other group there that were already finishing their meal. We were greeted by a friendly host that sat us at a table and got us menus, water, and chips and salsa. We decided to split the lunch steak fajita (which is smaller - and less expensive - than the dinner version, but perfect for my wife and I who are not big eaters). We almost ordered a margarita, but I knew I'd be drinking later in the evening at another event, so we just got waters. The fajitas came out with the steak sizzling. It was very well seasoned and tasted great on corn and flour tortillas with all the fixings - rice, beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, cheddar cheese, and sour cream. Cost out the door with tax and tip - $26.

I always drive by this restaurant and said one day I'll order lunch or dinner here . Now I'm regretting not trying them out sooner. I came here on work lunch with my team. Party of 10. We had called in prior for seating so they had table seating pre arranged for us. Was nice they were able to accommodate us. Waiters came with water and took drink orders quickly, and shortly after took our food orders. I loved that they had lunch specials. A lot of the plates seemed like it would be way too much for a lunch portion. Plates seemed loaded. My lunch deal itself was too much. I had to pack half to go. Fresh chips and salsa for dinning in. Chips were fresh and warm and salsa was just as fresh. I like Mexican restaurants that offer chips and salsa while you wait. My chimichanga was good. Just crunchy enough on the outside and wet and cheesy on the inside. I love that guacamole came with my dish. The refried beans were perfect tasted good. I normally would opt that out too. Rice was fluffy and soft. I started to dip my beans with the chips. My whole team was satisfied with their orders and had said they need to come back to try other dishes. We had a vegan eater and they were nice and accommodated her restrictions and assured they got her the best options. Portion sizes are pretty big.

The food was okay. We ordered chile Colorado and chili Verde. Have had both from numerous Mexican spots and this one was okay. The Colorado one was missing flavor. The verde was okay as well. Our flour tortillas came out super hot. The rice was salty & refried beans were ok. The service could be better. They didn't refill our water till after a while and when they did my water had something in it. They offer chips and salsas for free but our chips had hair in it which was very disappointing to see. It was at the bottom of the chips. The place was very cute and had some nice decor. Light Mexican music playing. They prefer cash to be accepted as a form of payment and offer a 15% discount on your next visit. I would try again to see if they would improve. (Same review by me on Google)

Probably the worst Mexican food I've had in the last few years. Worst part of it all is how expensive it was. Outlandish prices. About 1.75x the normal pricing of any casual Mexican restaurant in California. Very disappointed and annoyed that I just spent $95 before tip on 3 dinners, 1 appetizer, and 2 soda. Complete rip-off.

Came hereon a Sunday because we were staying nearby. Saw that there's menudo on selected location and asked about it. They did have it and we decided to give it a try. The taste was familiar except they didn't put homeny and tendon in the soup. It was still tomato based with tripes. It was tasty enough and satisfying.

It's a nice restaurant, with seating on the inside and the outside. That's good, because they can. get busy. The employees are very friendly It's a very large menu, ranging from things such as your standard tacos, tortas, and burritos, to things such as seafood cocktails, molcajete, which is a Mexican stew, to posole. They have Menudo on the weekend, and also on the weekend, they have a person right in the dining room, making fresh, hot , tortillas on the spot. There is a small chips and salsa bar. The chips are very good, as are the salsas. My favorite has always been the avocado salsa, creamy with just a little bit of a kick to it. Today, I decided to go simple. I had a shredded chicken, super nachos, and a cheese quesadilla. The quesadilla didn't look like much, but it was very big. There was a lot of delicious Monterey Jack cheese in it. They were very generous with the cheese. The nachos didn't look very big, but they were. The chicken was tender. And delicious, and I loved the guacamole and the sour cream. The salsa had a nice little kick to it And as I mentioned before, the chips were fantastic, not greasy at all. For all I got, the price was very reasonable. I will continue to come back. Thank you.

Today, as I was turning onto Rockingham, I finally noticed the place. I like to try new Mexican places so I decided to stop in. I'm glad I did. The place is not fancy on the inside, but it's bright and clean, and everybody was friendly and helpful. They do have Mexican decorations on the wall, and also a TV playing Mexican TV. They have a large menu. I decided to have the Barbacoa off of the lunch specials menu. It came with the Barbacoa, tortillas, (I chose flour) rice, beans, *AND* a soda as well. In addition to the meal, they also have a chips and salsa bar. The chips were crunchy and delicious, not greasy at all, and they had a large selection of salsa. I chose the avocado salsa,, and also the jalapeño and sour cream. The jalapeño in sour cream was spicy, but it was within the limits of what I care for in spicy. The sour cream helps cut down the spiciness of the jalapeños. It was delicious. As was The avocado salsa. The food comes, and for a lunch special, there was a lot of food. The Barbacoa was tender and delicious. The meat was beyond, tender, and it had a little bit of a tangy and spicy flavor to it, but not overly spicy. I added a little bit of the avocado salsa on top, and it just made it even more delicious. The rice and beans were also very delicious. I thought they were a both a little bit soft, for my personal taste, but I know everybody is different. The tortillas were a decent sized, they were delicious, and they gave me. *4* of them. I had plenty of food to take home for a second meal. For a lunch special, they were extremely generous, the food was amazing, and the price was very reasonable, especially since I got two meals out of it. I want to come back and try more things on the menu. Thank you for a great lunch.

Two points upfront - as far as I can tell, this is not in any way connected to the Jalisco Grill…read morerestaurants found elsewhere in the area. I thought maybe it was and that's why I dropped by... nope. Second point - it definitely reminded me of eating in Mexico, so I guess points for being authentic? I genuinely mean that... not trying to crack a joke or anything. Wobbly table and chair, Mexican game show on the TV, random flatware, decorations, extensive almost prison-like gating and fencing built around the building... it seriously reminded me of several of the places I've eaten at in Mexico. Anyway, on to the food! I was hoping to get a Birria plate, but the hostess informed me that they were out of that, so I chose the Chile Verde plate as a Plan B. The verde sauce had good favor... nice little bite to it. The rice was pretty much perfect, and the beans were very good too. Unfortunately, what should have been the star of the show... wasn't. I'm talking about the meat itself... a good Chile Verde should be nice and tender no matter what cut of pork was used since it's slow cooked for a good bit of time. Pork shoulder is commonly used... but Mexican food in general is designed to be flexible - making cheap cuts taste awesome is the whole magic behind Mexican cooking in the first place! The meat used in this case was rib meat. Short ribs. Was some sort of law broken? This was the first time I remembered having bones in Chile Verde - certainly THIS many bones. No rule broken, though... remember what I said about flexibility. Unfortunately, the meat was dry and tough too. I seriously doubt it had been simmered for any period of time... probably didn't spend much time in the verde sauce either. I really don't like writing a review like this, but honesty is honesty. I can and have made much better Chile Verde myself. I'm hoping this was just a bad day, and I hate to judge a restaurant... someone's business and livelihood too harshly based on a single visit on possibly a bad day... but it is what it is. I see that there are some good reviews here, so there's hope! I'm not writing off another visit. I would love nothing more than to give this review a significant upgrade!

I busted out my trusty Yelp app and searched for Mexican restaurants open at this hour. Hey, you can't go wrong with a 4.5 star rating! So I hustled over. Luckily, even though the restaurant was mostly set up for karaoke at this hour, the kitchen staff were happy to serve me. I asked for 3 taqueria tacos with everything on them. The meats were incredible. The salsa was spicy. The price was excellent. And I must say that the service was spectacular. It can be intimidating to enter an ethnic restaurant without any company, and especially at a late hour in an unfamiliar neighborhood. I walked in with a bashful smile and it was reciprocated. Even the guests that were singing karaoke were smiling and friendly towards me as I dined and enjoyed their entertainment (there were about 12 adults, having a great time). The speakers were loud at this hour, so I was thankful I had ear plugs from my motorcycle ride. I'm sure if you dine earlier, say before 9:00 on karaoke nights, that they play music at a normal volume. I recommend this restaurant if you want to enjoy some authentic and delicious Mexican mariscos (seafood) or any other traditional Sinloan/Mexican cuisine. I look forward to returning!
