Upon arrival on a Sunday, after checking Google hours, we drove to Casa Pink and saw multiple signs indicating they were open, the "OPEN" sign was displayed, the front door was wide open, and online/social media also showed they were open.
We walked in and initially found no one there. A few minutes later, a friendly individual came in, apologized, and kindly said they would go get someone to help us. About 5-7 minutes later, another individual (female) arrived, walked right past me and my 3-year-old daughter, and rather abruptly stated they were closed while simultaneously changing the open signs. She pointed to a small summer hours sign that was placed below eye level.
I apologized and explained that every visible sign that literally said "open," including online. Unfortunately, there was no apology or acknowledgment of the confusion, only statements that they were closed.
We ended up leaving, but what disappointed me most was the negative interaction. My 3 year old daughter genuinely thought the individual didn't like her and that was the reason we had to leave. That was heartbreaking and left me with such negative feelings.
I was really hoping to support a local business, but based on this experience, I won't be returning. There are many wonderful local coffee shops on the Southside that make customers feel welcomed, and unfortunately this was not one of those experiences read more
