A few minutes after we sat down, I waitress, Aiden brought us a basket of warm bread, and a dish with olive oil in it. We had put in the address into the GPS which brought us to this location. Hayden told us it was in a new management and the name had been changed to Modena. She brought us our drink order and took our food order. We shared appetizers consisting of called antipasto, and mussels in a light tomato sauce. We had asked for more bread to dip into the dish with the muscles because of the savory sauce. We all ordered the mushroom soup, which was a special for the day. That was a great choice. For dinner, two of us had pork osso bucco with rice in a marinara sauce. Outstanding! Linguine with clams, and Veal Modena were the other entrees. For dessert we had apple crisp with vanilla, ice cream, cheesecake or vanilla ice cream with a shot of espresso on top. Cappuccino the ending meal. Aiden was a delightful waitress, paying attention to a table, continually filling my water glasses, asking to refill my drink orders. The place is beautifully decorated the way mountain view brasserie was. The food was over the top, service was great, we booked a reservation for 16 of us in two weeks on a Saturday night. I'll let you know how that turns out.Sal E . New Rochelle

First, we opened the bag and noticed there were no utensils or napkins. Luckily I snagged an extra fork from lunch and we found a pair of chopsticks. Onto the food.. stuffed shrimp with crabmeat -- the bacon was so thick and overcooked I had to rip it apart to get to the shrimp, but something was off about the sauce and whatever vegetable was in there...tasted like bittersquash? Took one bite and moved on. Clams casino was fine..heavy on the bacon but not bad. Two entrees, shrimp and lobster w/ vodka sauce on capellini and meat ravioli.. Meat ravioli -- That was fine, it's more like a cheese ravioli with meat sauce on top and probably the only dish we actually ate all of. Ok now the most expensive dish.. the shrimp and lobster pasta. I started with the shrimp and the pasta and the vodka sauce wasn't too bad but as I ate more of it, I noticed something started to taste really off about this. From a glance it looked fine but as I took a bite of the lobster, there was just no taste whatsoever to the lobster. Interesting.. took another bite and I now get this sour smell coming from it. I got really queasy bc I noticed now that this lobster was not fresh AT all. Peeling it out you can see there's a green tint to the edges so yea.. at the risk of getting food poisoning I threw it away. Not good. Back to the ravioli I guess. Oh and our two house salads... there was no dressing provided lol. The end.

It…read moreseemed a bit risky to serve Italian food when marrying into family that loves cooking and traces it's ancestry to Italy, but I need not have been worried. Vesuvio is the real deal, and we got so many compliments on the food. All our friends and both families loved it! The Sicilian Rice Balls, Chicken Marsala, Penne Vigani, in particular, I would eat any day. They went out of their way to help us, and were extremely professional and accommodating, breaking up our order into two deliveries so we could serve rice balls and mushroom caps at the reception, and the rest for dinner. For allergy reasons, we needed some gluten-free, dairy-free and egg-free options. Vesuvio did a great job providing us with these options. Crucially, they are an honest small business. It can be hard to judge how much to buy for a wedding. We would have ended up with far too many rice balls and mushroom caps. The restaurant owner was kind enough to let us know when we placed the order, even though it decreased his overall sales. And he was spot on. Rice balls were finished during the reception, but toward the end, with everyone getting enough. Mushroom caps were nearly depleted, but we had some portion of the vegan ones remaining. I believe everyone there loves food, and takes their profession seriously and with pride. Also, you should stop there for dinner. We went a few times with various relatives to get their opinion as we prepped. Both sets of parents loved the food, and I don't think there was an item anyone tried that we wouldn't order again. Edited for typos

The hostess was so kind, she kept wishing my mom a happy birthday and checking in on us throughout the meal. Our server seemed a little overwhelmed, but to be fair we were a party of 9. Near the end of our meal he seemed to recruit help from a couple other servers. The food was incredible! I of course had to get the penne vodka pasta. I was a bit bummed when they wouldn't let me add a protein to it, but it was still delish. Since it was the holiday season, I had to try the peppermint chocolate martini. I was worried it would be too chocolatey but it was perfectly balanced with a peppermint rim!

We then enjoyed two pastas, both of which were great. The squid ink pasta with scallops was tasty as was the bucatini (especially loved the thin slices of guanciale it came with). We arrived right on time for our 7 P.M. reservation, to a room that was warm and buzzy. We chatted briefly with Meigan, one of the owners, who was absolutely lovely, before being seated promptly. I ordered the gricia, which was divine (mine never turns out this well!), and my husband had the squid ink pasta with scallops, which he loved. We then shared the flat iron steak, which was cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed a few glasses of a Tuscan blend, which was just the thing to complement our meal. All in all, it was the perfect Saturday date night dinner, in a cozy, romantic setting. We trudged through the snow, back to our hotel, happy and full. We'll definitely return.

Didn't have a reservation but it was the middle of the afternoon so we were able to get a table right away. We were sat in a back room which is part of the dining room. It was a little small but it appeared that there was another dining area downstairs. Bernie was our server and super nice. She quickly came over with breadsticks which was a happy surprise! We ended up splitting the Gorgonzola Stuffed Figs -- small bits for sure, but good for sharing. We also ordered the baked clams oreganata which was my favorite. I typically don't go out of my way for a Cosmo but started out with Ceil's Pear Cosmo - it was SO good. For dessert, I ordered their Valentine's special which was a Chocolate Covered Strawberry Martini. This didn't hit the mark for me with the strawberry chunks. I wish I had ordered another pear Cosmo. Savona's was not the overall vibe I wanted for Valentine's Day dinner so I am glad we came here the day after for lunch. This would be a great place for a big family dinner! Wait staff including Bernie were all super friendly.
