The bell men out front were helpful and friendly but we found the front desk to be understaffed throughout our stay. While the rooms were spacious, they are a bit outdated and amenities were lacking. Only one elevator was in service all weekend long. The water pressure wasn't great and the drain didn't work so well either. My room was positioned right next to a dumpster where trucks came to dump very early in the morning, waking me up each morning. All of that said, we did get a decent rate and it was nice to have a kitchenette (and laundry machines available) as well as a small gym. If you are heading to the area and seeking an affordable decent place to stay, definitely consider the mutiny.

I started with a cappuccino, which was nicely balanced and great foam. Then I ordered the Local Breakfast. It came with two scrambled eggs, multigrain toast, home fries, and I swapped the meat for avocado. The eggs were nicely cooked, potatoes had great flavor but were a bit cold and very fresh but I imagine freshly made are very solid. The toast was not bad. Avocado was fresh. Good portion and good prices. My friend and I shared a pancake that was pretty good but lacked a bit of flavor but was still enjoyable. We stayed in the Azure suite, Our room was stunning and was ready a few hours early, which allowed us to start enjoying our stay right away with a bottle of bubbly the hotel sent up. We changed into our swimsuits and headed straight to the pool. The next morning was my favorite part of the stay, since only hotel guests have access to the pool before the restaurant opens, it was much quieter and the perfect way to enjoy such a beautiful setting. The only downside was that the hotel is extremely loud at night. We knew what to expect from reading previous reviews, so it wasn't a surprise, but it's worth mentioning. I was also a little disappointed by the restaurant service, which felt indifferent and not especially welcoming. Despite those drawbacks, the beauty, history, and overall experience made for a memorable stay!

I felt that if you don't swagger in talking the Havana way, your service experience may be a little different. If you walk in with an attitude then you will receive service with an attitude. The mechanic and the other guys hanging around were all very nice, totally professional, and not condescending at all, which I appreciate a lot because as a newbie motorcyclist and a lady I'm touchy about all that. Note they don't take credit cards, but there's an ATM in the drugstore across the street. I'm definitely coming back here the next time I need help with my bike.
