Very poor service, we rented out a room for a rehearsal dinner mind you it was NOT cheap. Shortly into the dinner after we finally got our drinks they started sitting people that were NOT in our party in OUR private room we paid good money for. After we informed the manager then they decided to attend to us and they removed the people from our room, but still all night we had random people walking through our "private" space. The food also came out cold and we found a hair in our chips. They only offered to give a little discount. Would not recommend to anyone. Never again.

I had the cheese enchilada with rice and guacamole salad. It was delicious! Taste just like it did 40 years ago!

We ate here on the evening of October 3, 2023. Our server was JoMary. She was so helpful and attentive. The food was just as I remembered it from the early eighties. The cheese chili gravy mixed with the fluffy delicious rice was so good. JoMary made it a delightful experience for us. All of the staff was very courteous. They were very complimentary of my pink hair. My daughter enjoyed drinks from the bar as well. She loved the strawberry colada, I believe it was. It looked delicious.

Honey mustard, bacon, cheese and chicken! Our bartender Dusty recommended this and he did not steer me wrong!! Highly recommend. Great food & service!

This is the Chicken Monterrey. The chicken was so juicy and seasoned to perfection.

First off The bar tender Dusty gave us excellent service with a smile! The chicken was super juicy and seasoned to perfection. The potatoes are always a hit, and gotta have those veggies!!

Cheese Enchiladas from the Lunch Menu $7.

Ate here today after a brief break and wasn't what I've come to expect. Had enchiladas from the lunch menu and they were bland and just to get to the point- not good. CCQ was good- a little thicker than usual- ok a lot thicker than usual. Our server was a little off putting as well- to the point of being a creeper. Didn't catch his name as I paid and left. Less interaction the better. And as is always the case- too much staff just lingering and visiting with each other. I'll be back for sure- I'll just wait a little while.

The parking is never this good.

Whether you agree or not, Casa Manana is a Lake Charles staple. I've been eating here since I was two, and Mr. Martel would come around and give bubble gum to the one's that finished their meal. Those days are gone, but the food has maintained it's appeal. Having traveled a bit, I can agree that it isn't the most authentic Mexican food, but for my taste, it is always an enjoyable meal. I usually order the fajitas and although I have had better elsewhere, the flavor is there and they never completely disappoint. Waitstaff is good also. Some people may disagree, but since I grew up on it, there are only two types of salsa I enjoy, Casa's and salsa prepared fresh from recipe. Casa salsa is the only salsa I will buy in a store, never Pace. Casa Manana is still family owned and they have opened another restaurant across town on Nelson called "Que Pasa Taqueria" which offers a slight difference in taste and menu selection. If you spend any amount of time at all in Lake Charles, you are liable to end up eating here, so try it for yourself and see.

Casa Manana is still very good. I will drive from Beaumont to eat good Mexican food and good margaritas every time. No complaints here.

Our waiter was extremely attentive, refilling our chips and salsa before we were out, and remembering our specific drink orders for refills. Chips were served warm with three different salsas - a great variety of spices, and warm chips are just my favorite. I got the salmon plate with cilantro rice and lettuce/tomatoes/cheese on the side. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the rice was nice and fluffy. Great portion size as well!! The menu wasn't too big so it was much easier to narrow down on a decision on what to eat. Highly recommend as a quick spot to satisfy any Tex-Mex craving.

Did it wow me? No. But it definitely got the job done. Maybe I was starving, but the burrito really hit the spot. The steak was cooked perfectly -- which is rare since it's usually dry and hiding under a blanket of cheese sauce. This one actually had great flavor. The crispy taco, on the other hand, was mid. See that, young kids? I got the lingo. Overall, I'd come back if I'm passing through. Service was great, the bartender was super friendly, and the place is very affordable. Bonus: if you need to charge your Tesla or other electric vehicle (no discrimination here), this is a convenient stop. Cheers, y'all.

Southwest Louisiana is home of the Cajuns & Creoles, that food is authentic here; the area is not famous for its Mexican food. But the food is still muy bueno. Los Ponchos has a separate entrance, and it's easy to see the sign from Highway 397. It's within half a mile from I-10, so if you're speeding between Lafayette and Beaumont, it's not far out of your way. The menu is full of things to eat: enchiladas, tostadas, tacos, quesadillas, even steaks and burgers (huh?). Or you can build your own combo, which I did: three items for $14.99. * Beef enchilada - the best of the bunch. Strong beefy taste. * Chicken taco - I had the soft taco, and it was so full of chicken, tomatoes, and lettuce that it spilled out onto the plate. Nice taste, tender chicken. * Chicken quesadilla - one tortilla folded over, and the cheese was gooey inside to hold that tender chicken inside and give it a nice flavor. * Served with refried beans & rice. I found another place that puts cheese on its refried beans, giving it a much better taste. Chips come with black beans in addition to salsa, a nice touch. Meanwhile, it is a clean place, tiles painted to look like south of the border. Not exactly authentic, but it does the job The ranchero and cumbia music sets the mood. Service with a smile. I was a lifelong Californian, and that state has some of the best Mexican food in the country; Mexicans moved north of the border, brought their recipes with them, and opened a place to eat just like home. Los Ponchos' food is up at THAT level, it's that good. If you're picky about your Mexican food, then make it a point to visit here. The casinos don't need your money, they're making plenty from the suckers, so don't be a loser, Los Ponchos is a winner.

The outdoor patio, though, is a nice touch and definitely the more inviting part of the space. If the weather is right, that's probably where I'd choose to sit next time. The Eats This visit was a bit of a miss for me. The chips were "off" - either too thick or not fried enough - but something about the texture just didn't hit right. I ordered the chimichanga, which is a flour tortilla filled with your choice of seasoned beef or chicken, deep fried and topped with ranchero sauce, served with sour cream. Unfortunately, it didn't land for me. I'm used to chimichangas being topped with a white cheese sauce, so the ranchero sauce was unexpected and not something I enjoyed. The overall dish just didn't come together, and I ended up not finishing it or taking it to go. I didn't try any drinks since I had a class afterward, but honestly, that's probably what I'd lean into if I returned. The Service Service was fine - no major issues. We were greeted, orders were taken, and everything came out in a reasonable amount of time. Nothing stood out either way, but it got the job done. Parting Thoughts Laguna's may be worth a visit for the patio or to try drinks, but the food didn't quite meet my expectations this time. I might give it another shot and order something different, but based on this visit, it wasn't a standout for me.
