We had an awsome dinner at this restaurant. We are traveling in Mexico for 3 weeks with our…read morechildren. After a few nights of traditional Mexican food, we were all in the mood for a change. Since my family all loves Italian food, we decided to try this place. The restaurant is close to the main plaza in Valladolid. When we arrived, we were greeted by the owner, a real Italian Nona sitting in the garden. It was then, I realized this place was the real deal for Italian food. The garden has beautiful plants growing and although it was a bit warm we were comfortable. A fan would have helped but I settled for a cold drink. The menu is small and everything tastes fresh. I had potato truffle ravioli with cream sauce. It was hearty and flavorful. The truffle gave the dish an excellent depth without being overpowering. Our kids ordered a more simple pasta with meat sauce, which they loved. My son had a fresh lemonade, which was perfect after a long hot walk, and I had an ice-cold glass of white wine. Our dinner was delicious, and the service was friendly and fast. Prices were very affordable and we left feeling satisfied and happy. If you are passing through this colonial city and want some comfort food I recommend this place. You won't be disappointed.

So cute and sweet, a lovely little break from typical (in the local sense) cuisine. We had lechon…read moreravioli, a first. Choices of wine are red and white. Lol. The white was perfectly acceptable. The menu is on an easel that moves from table to table. Seating is in a lovely garden. Definitely recommend.

The service was terrible. The food was amazing. Would I wait for food/service from there again?…read moreNope. The servers were very nonchalant as we waited 20 minutes after being sat to come over to our table for the first time. This was after waiting at the door for 10 minutes and in the waiting area for 20 minutes. It took 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive after ordering. I was so thirsty I started drinking from the water bottles we had brought with us. The food, surprisingly, arrived not too long after a basket of chips and salsas was brought to the table. I noticed the next table over got their basket of chips and salsa before us (and before their drinks). We ordered agua mineral, enchilada mole con Pollo, dzitnup, jugo verde, molcajete mexicano, and Milanesa de pollo con papas. Food prices were decent (MX1230 for our meal and drinks).

We always love comming here for breakfast when we are in the area, and it truly never dissapoints. This time we had the Cochinita and Lomitos Pibihua and the Mole enchiladas with chicken. We always order the packet deal that comes with your entree, juice, toast, and unlimited coffee. Unlimited coffee is always a plus for me since I can down 5-6 cups easily :D.

If you love pizza and you're in Tulum, this is the spot. Full stop…read more Boccanera is wild in the best way. A laid back wood fired pizza spot with a super cool, relaxed ambience and the friendliest energy. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and honestly I've never had anything like it. It's insanely good. Pair it with their habanero sauce and jalapeños and it is literally fire. Perfectly cooked, bold flavor, unforgettable. We also ordered the Caprese with apples, almonds, and beets and wow. Such a fresh and different take on a salad. Every ingredient tasted so clean and vibrant. My tummy was genuinely happy after this meal, which says a lot. It's not far from where we're staying near Azulik, which made it even better. The vibe is effortless, chill, and welcoming. Bonus points for the two local cats, who are absolutely adorable and add so much charm to the place. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, and the menu has so many choices that there is truly something for everyone. If pizza is your love language and you're anywhere near Tulum, Boccanera is a must visit.

We put our name on a list, but no phone number was given so really it's a wait for a table or come back type of situation. We ended up leaving and coming back 40 mins later and were sat quickly outside. The pizzas are OUTSTANDING! I think the reviews all say that and it's the truth. The crust is Neapolitan style thinner crust but the flavor is just spot on! The toppings and sauce are well balanced. The roasted chicken was a great addition to the vegetarian. If they made cheese sticks with a marinara sauce with that crust it would be a HUGE seller! The green salad was pretty standard and not much that was memorable or forgettable, just good and as expected. Unfortunately, the bruschetta was a huge let down -- we literally received halved cherry tomatoes on a piece of bread. They served it with olive oil to drizzle, but that did not even come close to what we expected. There are a few cats that roam the outside patio, but they don't bother you much. The staff was welcoming and we had good conversation with the server even for it being 20 mins before they closed.
