a view of a pond in the winter

Our go to Friday night casual dinner spot. The only thing we don't love here is the bread they give you before your meal. Outside of that, everything we've ever tried has been delicious. It may sound silly but their sautéed broccoli is my favorite broccoli. The chicken parm is consistently good, the soups have always been good, and the chicken Saltimbocca has tons of flavor. Kid friendly environment. BYOB.

My girlfriends and I decided to order a bunch of dishes to share, and everything was so good that I…read morecompletely forgot to take pictures of most of the food! The Risotto Balls are a must-order. I've honestly never had anything like them before, and we finished every last bite. The gazpacho was so refreshing with a spicy, acidic kick. It didn't have much crab, but the flavor of the soup was amazing. The grilled polpo was cooked perfectly with a delicious char, but I do wish the portion was a little bigger. The Margherita pizza had the perfect thin crust with a beautiful wood-fired char on the bottom. The seafood pasta was one of our favorites and easily the best seafood pasta I've had. The creamy lemon sauce was incredible, the shrimp were beautifully grilled with just a little kick of spice, and the portion was huge. We also ordered the Agn Mozzarella, which was rich, flavorful, and another great pasta dish. The only thing we weren't crazy about was the chocolate mousse. It just wasn't sweet enough for our taste. The service was amazing. One of my friends has a shellfish allergy, and they were extremely careful to avoid any cross-contamination. Everyone was so friendly, the food came out quickly, and you could tell they genuinely cared. We went on a weekday without a reservation, and it was still pretty busy, so I'd definitely recommend making one. We'll definitely be back!

I've been contemplating writing this review for a while now, but after the experience we had, I…read morefeel like it needs to be shared. We ate at Sette Luna a little over a week ago for dinner, and to say the night was an experience would be an understatement. Our server was great young girl, we didn't bother to inform her of what we saw simply because it's not her fault. For starters, throughout our entire dinner, there was a man near the kitchen/window repeatedly yelling "HOT FOOD!" across the restaurant. After the first several times, it became pretty obvious that he was calling for servers when food was ready to be taken to a table. However, there were times when the servers were clearly occupied with their tables or weren't even in the room, and he would just continue yelling it over and over again. It was loud, obnoxious, and honestly absurd to listen to throughout what was supposed to be an enjoyable dinner. Unfortunately, that ended up being the least concerning part of our experience. Toward the end of our meal, around 9:30 PM when we had moved on to dessert, my husband tapped me and told me he had just seen a mouse run underneath the wine cabinet in the main dining room--the cabinet located right next to the kitchen. Naturally, that immediately made me uneasy considering we had just eaten an entire meal there. Then, I kid you not, within about 20 minutes, ANOTHER mouse ran through the dining area. At one point, there were TWO mice running from the area where the servers had been going to refill our drinks. That completely ruined the remainder of our night. At that point, we were beyond ready to leave. When we got home, we told our teenage daughter about what happened, and she was horrified that we had eaten there. She then told us that one of her friends had worked there last summer and had told her they had seen cockroaches while working there. To be clear, we did not personally witness the cockroaches, so I cannot speak to that firsthand--but after personally seeing the mice during our dinner, hearing that certainly did not make us feel any better. I understand that restaurants can have issues arise, but seeing multiple mice running through the dining room, especially so close to the kitchen and service areas, is something I simply cannot overlook. Needless to say, our experience was extremely disappointing, and we WILL NOT be returning.

I judge Italian restaurants by their marinara sauce and their eggplant dishes, such Rollatini or…read moreParmesan. Their gravy is what a good marinara should be; not over spiced, with the tomato taste bursting through. They nail it. Their eggplant is well prepared; never greasy, and obviously salted and soaked to get the bitters out. It shines through in any eggplant dish they serve. Over the years I've probably tried two dozen dishes, including fra diavlo. All were great. In New Jersey, no matter where you live. You likely have multiple choices nearby for Italian food. La Bella Villa is a shoulder above the rest. Sal aims to please, and he will often trek out of the kitchen and visit your table with a hearty greeting. And, the restaurant is lively, but never too noisy. The ambience adds to the restaurant. Many restaurants, for some reason, insist on playing loud music, often with a strong beat. It's impossible to carry on a conversation in these restaurants. We've crossed many restaurants off of our list that were otherwise very good due to loud music.

I ordered cavatelli with "meat sauce".....received what was called Bolognese sauce. The dish was swimming in a pink-colored "vodka" like sauce with ground meat in it. Again more of a vodka sauce - not really a good hearty Bolognese - not good at all. My son ordered veal Milanese. The veal cutlet again was swimming in sauce and rather soggy. The marinara sauce on the side of pasta was way too acidic.....it drives me crazy how many "Italian" restaurants get the sauce completely wrong. My wife got a pizza - equally terrible. The sauce again was way too acidic, way too salty and bland. I would also say that all of our dishes were rather bland on top of everything else.

Just cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. You wouldn't refer to it as a pizzeria after one try though the pizza is good. Several of their dishes are our favorites all around. I'll be the first to say that this is our go-to pizza spot in the Easton area when it comes to your typical takeout "pizza night". It's affordable, staff is friendly, and the Margherita Pizza never disappoints. On the other hand, they seem slightly understaffed. We live a walk away from the restaurant, so when we call ahead for takeout they always say 20 minutes or so. I leave right at the 20 minute mark and get there in about 2 minutes, but still have to wait roughly 10-20 minutes sitting there for the pizza to be done. Probably not your ideal sit-down restaurant for a night out, but solid for takeout. I just wish it wasn't a 40 minute wait for 1 pizza.
