This was a fun little event, but I felt quite out of place. Case Esencia boasts a very chic crowd. Not surprisingly, there are steep costs for drinks and entry. I will say that it is a cool venue in an old house with lots of little rooms, and that can make it more intimate or more disconnected depending on your outlook. The night I was there, there was an odd mix of young and old customers. I guess that's good. In the end, it's basically an expensive night club with a cash bar. For some folks, it's an alternative to cheaper dance clubs down on Central. More exclusive and hipper, but man, you are gonna pay for it through the nose. This was probably the best venue I have ever been to in New Mexico. It's a traditional old New Mexican home that was transformed into a club. *Genius* It had an outdoor courtyard that was a cute finishing touch. There was connecting rooms and multiple DJ's in each. They each had their own genre of music they were spinning. The place was decorated well, it was clean and the atmosphere was nice. No hovering men this evening. The line to get in on a Friday night wasn't deathly and women get in free. Parking was no problem as well, AND was free. I have to comment on the bathroom. I cannot speak for the men, but the womens restroom was clean and well kept. My only complaint is the drinks. I feel they are stingy with the brew. Go here on a typical Friday night and the line is either out the door with no chance of getting in in a reasonable about of time OR completely dead. The set up is awkward with a series of connected rooms. The dance floor is small and the neighboring room featuring the main bar is smaller. The main bar room being small results in an over crowded space with people shoving to get to the bar. Overall, it is a nice set up but it is not ideal for the "club" like atmosphere they are aiming for. Good for events, private parties, and receptions but other than that I would not recommend it for a Friday night. read more

We had our company Christmas party here. It was awesome. First we hung out in the bar area where we had free run of the place. Anything you wanted, they'd make, and everything they made was delicious. Kudos to the bar staff. They also had delicious appetizers floating around. We then had a buffet-style dinner and people were free to wander around, enjoy prime rib, etc. I'll take a moment here and point out how awesome the interior of this place is. A bunch of rooms you can float through, all connected and centered around a courtyard (it's an old house, in the territorial style). Really, the staff made the night here. They were courteous, professional, and accommodating. I LOVED this place! I had the best time dancing here! The staff was so friendly and shared with us the drink specials of the night. We took them up on a special of the night and was satisfied with the suggestion. We never had to wait very long to order/receive a drink. It is however a bit pricey. This was not your typical Southwest type of dance club it was very modern. They do have a strict dress code (collars required for men) but we went dressed to impress . I have been here several time before and we have always had a good time. It's a place my girlfriend and I can get dressed up and have fun. We went out for my sisters and our best friends birthday. The place is beautiful, several different rooms each with there own designs and style. It is very modern with an elegant twist. There is also several different bars throughout the establishment which is very conceive the place is quite spread out. They have a strict dress code. People are expected to dress up, guys are not allowed to wear tennis shoes. Also there is a cover charge for guys and girls after 11pm. The drinks are kinda of pricey, but they at least give you alcohol to drink in the mix drinks. My girlfriends and I had a good time, and would return at a later date. Do NOT come here after 10! They let a few people in every 30 mins. I stood in line for over an hour which is longer than I've ever waited for any place including Vegas! Only reason I even stayed was because I was there for a friend's birthday. Young crowd, no surprise there since it is a club. Once inside bottle service was great, the staff was attentive and the bartender was on point. The description of this being an old house with several rooms is accurate, but it works. I went to a birthday party here and it was AWESOME venue. It is set up like a house with multiple rooms, and all of the rooms connect. Food was set up in each of the rooms as well as bars, music could be heard in each of the rooms, there was also a room for dancing and a nice courtyard with with a small pool type thing. I presume this is one of the better nightlife spots that ABQ has to offer but again, like Qbar, I was super underwhelmed. The decor and layout is absolutely adorable, I loved it but that's about it lol. Maybe I'm too old for this scene kind of like a been there done that? It was full on young people, wearing ratchet forever 21 dresses, and puking in corners before midnight. There was LITERALLY throw up in the sink of the women's restroom at 11pm, followed by a girl barging in the restroom yelling at the top of her lungs about some guy dancing with another girl. Let me first start by saying that I used to love Casa. My friend and I decided to come here after frequenting Nob Hill for a long time. They held the line in the cold purposely to make it seem like it's the place to be, but when we got in, it was it's empty. On top of that, they boast a strict dress code and I watched as they let in people literally in hoodies and sweat pants. When we got in, they weren't even serving all of the drinks because they ran out of mix. On top of that,someone got MASED by the club security inside the club and everyone had to run out early, coughing and sneezing. This place used to be cool...my how it has fallen off. Went here Saturday for my bachelorette party. Had a great time except when I ordered shots for the group at the bar, the bartender tried to rip me off and charged me for 3 extra shots at $9 a piece. When we called him out on it he said he messed it up and would give me 4 extra shots. I told him to get the manager that I wanted it fixed and they fixed it. The manager never came to talk to us or even gave me a receipt. It was very obvious he was trying to rip us off by the way he acted. Very rude and bad customer service! read more

Every time that I have visited Casa Escencia, no matter what the circumstances around me (people getting thrown out , puking lol) , I've always had a great time. The scenery is very modern and classy. There are plenty of spots to sit down to mingle with friends. The main dance floor can get crowded but that's what makes it fun. There are a few other dance floors to enjoy the music and dance to. I've been in VIP a few times. They give you a bottle and a little space for your party. I wish that security moved the line quicker. This is especially because there is a cover after 11PM for women. Men have to pay anyway I believe? Once, my friend almost didn't make it to my Birthday because of the line. We ended up having to leave so we can all get together and find a spot where we coule all get in quickly. read more

This place is legit! Hottest girls in town. Dress to impress. The cover is 20 for guys and they do bottle service. It is the closest you will find to Vegas and a house party. The drinks are strong and reasonably price when compared to the prices at other bars in town. While there is a cover I would say that this place is hands down the best place in town. read more

I don't Know what happened to this place. It used to be a classy place with a chill vibe. Now it's literally a disgusting place. First of all they do not enforce their so called dress code at all, but thats the least of my worries. The worst part is the staff, full of rude, arrogant employees and abusive security guards. My negative experience started out when I visited the ladys room, there was literaly puke in every sink. Also a huge puddle of vomit near the bar which I almost slipped on. I was ordering drinks when this bartender named "David" so he said, got super snarky with me after I made a comment about how rude he was being. He then proceeded to tell me "I don't give a f#$% about being nice to customers it's a f*##*** bar, if you dont like it leave" I was very confused as to how they hire these kind of people, regardless I proceeded to pay for my drinks and as soon as I signed the receipt which I also regretfully left a tip on. He immediately motioned to a large security guard that I needed to go, the guard allegedly named "Pedro" then grabbed my drink, broke it against the wall pushed me down and grabbed my arms behind my back and proceeded to throw me out. I was extremely humiliated and also assaulted for no reason. I did not resist or start any kind of quarrel. I will never step foot in this very poorly managed place. These people act like they are some untouchable high and mighty mafia bosses. I did file a police report. The cops even told me this place was trash and they hope it gets shut down. They have no surveillance so they basically lied to the cops and said i was starting a fight. I feel like they had bo right to touch me like that. Great place to meet people from Albuquerque! The decor is awesome, and the staff is always on point. Friday nights are fun, it gets pretty packed but with 2 Dj's you have your choice of where to hang out. I would suggest getting there early to avoid lines and definitely make friends with the Dj's to get on their guest list to almost insure entry! read more

Went to Casa to celebrate my birthday this past weekend. Got there at 10:30 thinking we could all get in by 11 so ladies could get in free. The bouncers held the line for 30 mins then started to let people in at 11 so that they could charge cover. Paid $130 in cover charges for our group only to not be let back in after going to say bye to friends that drove an hr to get there. Bouncers would not let them in because one guy was not wearing "proper shoes." After just witnessing someone leave the club with even worse shoes. The bouncer "George" was so unprofessional in how he handled the situation even pushing one of my friends towards the exit who was a very small, petite girl. After asking multiple times to speak to his manager, he refused to tell me his name then went inside to hide for 30 mins. All my friends ended up leaving because George was not allowing me back in. Not to mention we did not get our money back for paying for everyone's cover charge. I will not be back. If this is how a business is ran then I will take my money elsewhere.
