We recently discovered there was wine country in Mexico so my boyfriend was planning an anniversary weekend getaway for us and found this place on airbnb with VERY reasonable prices! so after doing some researching on their website and reading all the reviews on tripadvisor, he started communicating with them to get a reservation. it was a little confusing using airbnb at first because they only have one listing but have multiple rooms available. so the best way to reserve is via email or contact them through facebook. once our room was booked with Arturo with a deposit, he sent us instructions and maps on how to get to the bed & breakfast. if you google it, it will be a little hard to find just by using the address because you have to drive through an unmarked dirt road. so use their map and directions! it helps! and make sure you arrive during day light to familiarize yourself with the roads. upon arrival, we were greeted by 3 very nice gentlemen. steve, michael, juan are all Arturo's friends and all help out at the B&B. first of all, the property is HUGE. there are three levels on this property with numerous buildings, and each building has multiple units. so you can easily come here with a big group because they can accommodate it. michael showed us to our room (#7) which was one of the downstairs unit. as we were settling in, Arturo and Juan came to our room with glasses of wine to welcome us, the wine was really good! the rest of our first night here, we hung out with all the guys, socialized with them and drank more wine. they also prepared dinner, which we did partake in as it was offered to us for an additional fee. the dinner is family style, where everyone staying at the B&B are invited to sit and dine together. so you really get to know the hosts as well as all the guests. there is a pool on the premises, lots of open space where kids can play, cute little tree house, and a beautiful winery. breakfast is all included which is prepared by Arturo and the guys. service was absolutely impeccable! there are also two maids that come everyday to clean the rooms and make your beds. one thing to note though, the property runs on generator and solar power so between 2am and about 7-8AM, there is no power. but each room is supplied with a few candles which you can light for night use. also, phone service here is almost non existent. if you want service, you'll have to hike up to higher grounds but it's still pretty slow. so staying here really makes you talk and socialize more with people instead of staring at your phones. there are also no TV's in the rooms either but they do have one by the pool which came in handy because the world cup was going on while we were there. we were fortunate because they were also celebrating their 4th year anniversary as a B&B so on our last day here, we got to attend their anniversary party with lots of authentic food, drinks, music and fun. the rest of weekend was absolutely fantastic. Arturo and Steve invited us out to Ensenada beach one day, and Michael and Juan invited us to go wine tasting with them on the other day. All of this was just spur of the moment invite, nothing was planned ahead which was really adventurous! we really got to experience the wine country area like the locals. they really treat you like family here, not just guests. i highly recommend staying here and get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, meet new friends, tour around wine country and enjoy what this place has to offer! we really enjoyed our time here so much that we are already planning a trip back to celebrate a friend's birthday! read more

I agree with Sara C. that the gentlemen Steve and Michael were very hospitable and took the time to walk us to our room late in the night. We stayed in the back of the estate in a four bedroom 2 bathroom casa. Without clearly marked signs it was difficult to find Casa Encinares in the dark of the night. It was very rustic; tile floors, limited electricity, and vintage like decor. I use the word rustic loosely, as I kind of cringed when I had to use the restroom and sink. The sink had a plug that was missing, leaving an open drain full of nasties. The beds were neatly made but had very firm mattresses. In the morning the guys offered us coffee and fruit in the outdoor patio. The rest of the residence looked very authentic and the service was 5 star. The Valle is beautiful and peaceful and this property encompases both of these things. Although a bit difficult to find at night we followed the signs and made it. We were greeted by Steve and Michael who assisted us to our room. Tanya D. describes the room well using the work "rustic". The bathroom could definately use a refacing and the rooms in general an update. We didn't stay for breakfast, wanted to beat the line a the border. Arturo, Michael and Steve were great. I would possibly stay here again but maybe request a different room as I see from yelp pictures there are rooms with updated bathrooms/rooms. read more

Pros: The hotel staff is very welcoming, the owners are warm and discuss your intentions with your stay. They have wonderful suggestions for activities in the area depending on the experience you are looking for. The place is tucked away on a long and winding dirt road and is pretty quiet other than the generator. The food was fabulous. Cons: pool is dirty and not very kid friendly. Toilet needed 10 minutes between flushing in order to work properly. Shower head was definitely third worldly - really tough to get enough water to wash shampoo out. Dirt road to get there could be treacherous at night or after a day of wine tasting. Conclusion: I'd go again IF I was looking for a "glamping" experience. read more

I really enjoyed my stay here! Its so quiet and peaceful. The home cooked breakfast was amazing.

I had to book this place last minute because our other spot couldn't accommodate my party. As much as I went in with an open mind, it was very hard for me to keep an open mind because I paid $ to stay here. We had a small frog in our restroom, toilet never flushed, and the shower head was falling apart. There is limited electricity and the pool was somewhat dirty. Seems like this was once a functional place however, it was never kept up and now needs a lot of repairs that aren't taken care of. There wasn't any Uber or taxi cars available to this location because it was deep into a lonely dirt road! read more

Please do not even bother to book this hotel. They will cancelled if they feel they do not charged you enough. While we were arriving to the hotel (we arrived around 12:30- 1:00 p.m) and the check in was at 3:00 p.m. we received a phone call from their staff telling us that our reservation was cancelled and that they will not be able to rent the rooms and that we must call EXPEDIA to cancel our reservation. We thought that that was very suspicions and weird. They alleged that due to COVID-19 safety we will not be allow to stay in the hotel. We implored to them to let us stay since our kids were very tire and we did not have internet to find another hotel at the last minute. They did not care about any of our reasons. So glad we found this place! Nice romantic getaway spot. Do believe fellow yelpers about the road leading to this place and arrive during the daytime! We arrived just after sunset...thought we were lost as the road becomes very narrow. Only stayed one night, as we had already reserved in Ensenada for Saturday night. Wish we would've stayed here both nights instead! The service, food, and of course privacy, of this small/hidden place is just right for some quality time with your partner! We stayed 2 nights here, we had planned on 3 but we left a night early due to emergency. I wjll say I did not have the experience the other people Reviewing had while staying here. The photos look nothing like the place. Yes the room was clean (although not ready at 3pm when we arrived we had to wait). There was no wine offered. We asked while we were waiting if we could order any food or drink. Nope, they don't have any. We had been u see the impression from website that it was a functional restaurant/wine bar. The breakfast was nothing spectacular (beans, potatoes eggs). The pool had cigarette butts floating in in and trash several cracked tiles around it. The eating area downstairs was dirty and not bright and pretty like the photos. Maybe it's under new owners, maybe they have gotten lazy. I will say the people we saw were nice... it just was not at all what we expected. The road into the place was long and bumpy but we had anticipated that. We did have power all night. The rolls have no heat but a fire place with no way to light any wood or paper. I would say it's more like glamping that staying at a winery. Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. read more

Stay at this place with an open mind. It's not a 5-star bed and breakfast but it's peaceful and you feel safe. The bedrooms in some need major upkeep but our overall experience was delightful. The staff is lovely and they do a great job is making you feel welcomed. read more

This magical location is run by some very fine and fun hosts. One is a fabulous chef and prepares superb meals and all make sure your stay is all you'd like it to be. They also do tours of the wine valley and can accommodate special requests. Rooms are homey with fireplaces and I am told reading lamps will be in the rooms soon.
