This restaurant is my absolute favorite in Sanlucar! I love sitting outside on their quaint,…read moreromantic patio. Most of the staff speaks English as well as Spanish, and the menu is in both languages as well. Some of my favorite items on the menu are: - Pork cheek and apple ravioli - Sous-vide glazed chop with potatoes - Duck magret in red wine with pear and raisin compote - Nectarine with vanilla and yogurt ice-cream Be sure to make a reservation a couple days in advance, especially if you want to go on the weekend. well we ate here last night after finding this gem on yelp. thanks yelpers!…read moreAmazing really..maybe 4.5 stars total. but rounding to 5. portions are between tapas and a plate so get a few and share. prices very reasonable. and creativity is deep. started with a tataki tuna w. wakame that was really really great. my wife is Japanese and very picky when it comes to Japanese foods... a real winner this plate. next up was then 3 house croquettes which were a bit underwhelming after that first salvo. i'd skip them next time...second real plate was cuttlefish carbonara. well we went a bit adventurous here and boy did it pay off! the single finest plate i've had in 12 months probably... or at least top 3. delicious it was. udon noodle, egg, squid ink (not a lot, just right) and squid. truly one for the treasure chest. 3rd up was octopus...which can often get chewy. not this plate though PERFECTLY cooked which i guess is hard cuz i often i am not so much a fan of pulpo. puree of potato was its bed. 4th up was covina a white fish which was excellent and perfectly prepared. nothing to blow me away, but solid great food. had an amazing green nettle sauce that was a standout. yum. 5th was a meat dish the rib which was slow cooked and tender but really the sauce was a letdown. fine and all, but with what came before it was not up to that level. finally the 2 desserts tiramisu and white chocolate "soup" with biscotto were not really great perhaps it was our choices as other things looked good too. i tried a local white by the glass and found it too dense. switched to a bottle of Rueda which was more to my test fresh and lively. and only 10 euro a bottle. whole meal was 80 euro for 2 of us. terrific dining room staff... cannot be underestimated the service here. excellent. the space is wonderful as well high ceilings, art, not too loud. lighting perfect. we sat inside as were advised the patio was too windy. glad we did. meal was a 2.5 hour gastronomic marvel. thank you El Espejo!

I was extremely surprised at how good their burger was. The bread was freshly baked and had a lovely flavor. I prefer it over normal burger buns. The burger was cooked well and tasted delicious. I also enjoyed their french fries which are cut thin with some crunchy pieces and some not. We also had a couple plates of tapas which were alright. The patio is nice and allows for some good people watching. Most people that go here live in the area and know each other. It's always great to see a sense of community and friendship.

We're intrigued. We…read morestumbled across this adorable restaurant while checking out our new neighborhood of La Jara in Sanlucar. It shares a block with a few other restaurants we will be trying and reviewing as well. Why the average rating? We're going to have to go back to really decide what we think about the food compared to some of the other Italian joints we've tried over the last few weeks. They are solid on the following: - Service was super friendly; if they have a lot of English they aren't using it, which is fine because they were patient with our horrible Spanish and that's what we need right now. - Atmosphere is great; they have a patio area in front of the restaurant complete with umbrellas and a patio area under cover. They have water misters going about every 15 seconds for their plants; we found it not to be annoying, but to make it very comfortable to sit on the indoor patio. (we loved the tinto!) This afternoon for lunch we had: - Tortellini Bolognese (son LOVED it) - Spaghetti Pomodoro (daughter was meh; she LOVED our son's tortellini tho!) Hubby and I split the house salad -- not a fan of the mayo based salads and won't order those again off the menu. Had to try it at least once tho! =) Both of us went with a pizza. We really liked the thin crust. To recap: more to follow on our return visit. Will either hold the rating as it is, or upgrade it.
