In the Plaza de los Delfines, Casa de Aragón embodies the culture and cuisine of the Aragonese with spectacular food and a great atmosphere. Known for high quality ingredients and incredibly fresh products, Aragonese cuisine features some of the best flavors from natural sources. Using ingredients such as pungent black truffles grown in Teruel, wines fermented from the Grenache grape, and Spain's best extra virgin olive oil from Baja Aragón, Casa de Aragón has maintained a standard of gastronomy for several decades.
The restaurant is beautiful, located in a quiet of the city. Big picture windows look out upon the plaza, and the vine covered terrace offers natural light and a view of the city. The entire atmosphere is relaxed and casual, but with a refined ambiance.
My best friend and I visited Casa de Aragón for lunch one afternoon. The menu is varied, but we opted to try a bunch of different dishes from the Aragón region, which we could share and get great taste for the cuisine. We both enjoyed the Thistle to the Aragonese. I've never had thistle before, but was surprised by its sweet, meaty taste, which reminded me of artichokes. My friend loved the grilled longaniza, a type of Aragonese sausage, served with creamy hummus and olive oil, while I loved the chilli chicken, which was juicy with just the right amount of spice. We finished our main course by sharing homemade beef dumplings with special black truffles from Teruel and boletus, and it was perfect.
Even though we were so full, we still wanted to try the desserts. I opted for a lighter mango soup with almonds and peach sorbet, while my friend kept it classic with thin apple pie with vanilla ice cream and cream. Incredible! Our service was great, and the whole experience was delightful. read more
