Service and server were good and attentive. Food was fresh and good. Ambiance was simple but clean.

Food: Subpar at best. I ordered the Delight with steak, and I was anything but delighted by it. The cheese sauce was salty. The steak looked like it was chopped up by a food processor, and it had no taste to it what so ever. The rice also lacked anything special especially flavor. Service: After the food was delivered the servers never returned to the table. We never received the check, and had to go to the counter to get it. Ambience: Loved the music but other than that meh. All in all if you want Hispanic cuisine in the area go to one of the other places. read more

This is our go to Mexican place. Food is always good, very consistent. We have never had any issues with the food. And usually the service is great, however, it does make it difficult to be a customer and order when the waiter doesn't understand English and is really slow. The last 2 times we have been there we have had the same waiter and it takes a very long time and he doesn't understand what we are ordering even when it directly from the menu without changes. I don't make an issue of it or ask for someone else, but it is frustrating. We will continue to go though because it's good. read more

No thank you. We got done with an escape room nearby and this was one of the few options still open. I thought you can't go wrong with Mexican - well I was wrong. I got the carne asada and it was super fatty, over cooked and over seasoned. The beans had no flavor and the cheese on them wasn't even melted. The best part of this whole meal was the guacamole and chips. The server didn't speak English at all so communicating our order was difficult. When my friends wanted to go here for happy hour a year ago, I was skeptical. I had been to all the other Mexican places in town and always left disappointed. Not this time! Since then, I have returned at least a dozen times and recommended it to many people. My husband was never a big fan of Mexican food, but now he suggests going there often. Enchiladas are my favorite. I have tried every version on the menu and loved them all. Hubs says the fajita quesadilla is his fave. I'm not fond of margaritas in general, but I hear they are great. This restaurant hasn't been open very long, and I think it has potential. We were there for lunch, we all had different lunch combos. The salsa is thinner than most places, but had a good flavor. The order of chips is smaller than other places, and no offer to replenish. We weren't greeted when we came in, and weren't seated right away, even though there was nobody waiting. Our food took a long time to be served. The food itself wasn't bad, just nothing special. We might give them another chance if we're in the neighborhood, but there are plenty of Mexican restaurants in the area. I wish them good luck. read more

From the outside you'd think this would be a nice place. Nope Soggy (crunchy) tacos, cheap cheeses inside enchiladas so they were god awful. Waitress was mostly absent and when she did show up was rude and distracted. Really would not recommend this, you'll do better with a gas station frozen burrito. read more

Tried Casa Charro for the first time yesterday. The food was great! Large portions, delicious flavor. Our server was very nice, but there was a communication barrier. Management should be sure that people who don't speak English very well at least be comfortable with common menu terms. If you have any allergy issues, be sure your special requests are being understood, otherwise the communication thing isn't a big deal. The prices were fair at around $15-ish for each of our dinners. Much tastier than LaPachanga down the street. We will be back. read more

Real Mexican food in Crystal city Missouri! I am originally from Southern California. Mexican food is a Big part of the take out and restaurant industry there so it has to be good. 21 years ago We moved to Texas. Most Mexican food there SUCKS! Tex Mex is not Mexican. Very few Texas restaurants get it. We moved here in 2022. I have tried Mexican food in Saint Louis. I was not impressed. Overcooked and too expensive. Today I went to Casa Charro. I ordered the Steak Fajita and did not ask them to leave anything off the plate. I wanted to see what I would get for the $12.75 menu item. I was impressed! The plate was served in a timely manor, the fajita was a generous size, accompanied by rice, Guacamole, Sour Cream, Lettuce, and Pico De Gallo. Served on a Full size oval plate and it was full. The fajita was cooked to perfection, Rice was delicious, The Pico and the guacamole were complimented b a dollop of sour cream, the shredded lettuce was crisp and fresh. The entire meal with a drink came out to $18.00 and deserved a good tip. The staff was very friendly, and service was great. I recommend Casa Charro as the best Mexican food I have had since I moved to Missouri. read more

Pulled off the interstate for a late lunch, wanting something other than chain restaurants. Went down the main road just a ways and saw this place was busy, so we stopped. Glad we did!! As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a smile and sat down immediately with menus. Our waitress was at our table quickly taking our drink order and our food order as soon as we were ready. Our food came out nice and hot!! Everyone there was very friendly from the time we walked in until the time we left. We will definitely be back the next time we travel through!! read more

My husband and I ordered the fajitas, as he calls it El Greaso...mine had little to no meat that was on top of a bed of soaked greased onions. My husbands dish was charred to blacken perfection (sarcasm). That manager was not very personable with customers or staff. Waiter had no training and remind us that he was new while he kept taking our menu to ask questions. read more
