Service was great, walked in and was seated right away. The waiter spoke English, and communication was easy. The lighting and music were at a good level to keep a conversation and see the menu. The menu is huge, and you can find anything you want on it. The chips were typical corn tortilla chips, but the salsa was outstanding, not too hot, and plenty of cilantro for your taste buds. The main dishes arrived in a decent time. I had the spicy Tacos with chicken and chorizo; it was fantastic, a little spicy. The chorizo had a smoky flavor, and the chicken was not tough. Side dishes, rice, and beans. The rice was not sticky at all, and the beans had a smoky flavor unlike that of other Mexican restaurants. They were very tasty. The extra beef taco was filled with beef, no shortcuts there. Wife had the pableno dish. I tried the beef, which was very tender, and the pableno was excellent. My daughter and my wife said the shrimp were bigger than at most restaurants and had a great flavor. ( I'm allergic and could not try the shrimp) My daughter's dish was the spicy Nachos. Again, the beef was the most tender I have ever had at a Mexican restaurant, and I loved the white cheese queso and chorizo. It all just came together. Nice ambience, great service and the food was delicious - very nicely seasoned. My husband and I shared the steak fajitas and we substituted spinach for the tomatoes. It was a large portion with the perfect ratio of veggies to meat and it was all seasoned really nicely. Even the rice and beans tasted great and we enjoyed the chips and salsa. We wanted an early dinner (4:30) found Adelita's on Yelp. The restaurant is huge and we were a little worried because there were not a lot of diners. However we soon found out this place is FAbulous! Our waiter was so gracious and helpful. We loved the chips and salsa. The salsa is in a little carafe and you pour your serving into little bowls so everyone has their own salsa. Great Idea. I ordered the steak Burrito with black beans and My sister ordered Steak Quesadillas with Elote. We loved every morsel. Fun decor ..great staff ...high quality food. We are returning!! The service was absolutely horrible! It has been both times ive gone! Its like the dont tell the servers they have been sat. We sat so long the bartender came over and got us chips and salsa. Then ten minutes later came over and got us drinks. Finally after 20 minutes a blonde girl came over to greet us. The only time she ever paid attention to our table is when she handed us the bill. The place is beautiful and decent food but the service is killing this place! I look at all the reviews and the service is the #1 issue with it! We wanted to try this since it was recently opened. It is a HUGE space and they made it very beautiful! Every single worker was super friendly and the owner or manager was the one that came over multiple times in addition to our waitress to refill our drinks and make sure everything was good. Have a marg cause they had Centenario tequila and a Mexican coke. Our server, spoke Spanish, so wife started to speak to her in Spanish. I chimed in with the occasional words just to feel legit. Service was very good, she did a good job, attentive. Ordered a chimichanga with chix and birria tacos. Chimichanga has a good amount of chix and no filler like rice or beans. Could have used more spices but good taste. Birria was also good, but not fried on a skillet like I'm used to. Restaurant is an open floor plan with bar along one side and booths along another. Simple and user friendly, easily adjusted to the needs of the guests. Nicely decorated with Mexican and some Christmas. Probably would not go back... They have a huge parking lot. Even if you see the lot full, your wait will probably be 15 minutes or less. The service is fast. Chips and drinks brought to your table right away. Chips and salsa were okay - have had better. Margarita- ordered Cadillac/top shelf, but there was so much Grand Marnier in it wow. We were just stopping by to try it out, so only ordered the "the sampler". It came out like loaded nachos when I thought it would all be separate. Was missing our street corn too. I'm happy to have the newly opened Adelita's Restaurant in my neighborhood in Imperial, MO and had a wonderful first lunch there. I ordered the Poblano Relleno plate and the food I had was on point and this dish came with one steak and one shrimp poblano and I was so full after eating the steak poblano that I brought the other half home for a great dinner, it was delicious. Also, I ordered the Mexican street corn as a side dish and thought it tasted yummy. I thought the complimentary chips and salsa were really good as well. I'll definitely be going back and liked the servers and the atmosphere was great and I found it interesting that they kept the same layout of the wood paneled booths and bar that was the previous restaurant there that was Scotty's Irish Pub. I didn't see any lunch specials but that's not a problem for me, I'd rather have a full hardy meal anyway. read more

Visited for the first time last Friday night. We got seated pretty quickly. However, service was very slow after that. The salsa was good, but the chips were thicker and over toasted. Our food took over 20 min to come out and then it was a random plate at different times. First, my husband got his combo and our fries got his side of rice and beans. Another 5 min went by and I got my carne asada fries. Then about 5 more minutes later Our 2 friends received their entree. All of us thought our food was fine, except for my husband's. He ordered a combo of a taco, burrito, and enchilada. The taco was fine- he wishes he knew it came with pico on it because he doesn't like onions. The issue came from the burrito and enchilada. The plate came out covered in a thick brown sauce. It looked like what I would see a mole sauce to look like and had an odd sweetness to it. We all tasted the sauce and didn't like it at all. When I told the waiter and requested to change his order to just tacos or something quick and easy, he argued with me that that is enchilada sauce. I said maybe it was there, but at any other Mexican restaurant we have been to we haven't had sauce like that. Overall It wasn't great, there is definitely better Mexican in the area. I am not saying we will never be back, because it is convenient and nearby, but we will definitely plan on our food taking a long time and not order an enchilada or burrito covered in sauce. read more

Showed up around 6:20 pm. Seated by 6:40 or so. The menu was full of amazing sounding dishes. Starting with queso and salsa. I have to say that was yummy!! I ordered the Carnitas dinner, cooked superbly! My husband ordered the fajita burrito, it could have had more steak but tasted great. My daughter ordered the chicken and shrimp plate, absolutely loved it. Margaritas were amazing. It's brightly lit over by the bar, however the music needs turned down a bit. The street corn came out on a cob, which was unexpected but still tasty. We loved the decor in the large dining space. WOW If I could rate 10 stars I would! This is going to be a detailed review because this is a brand new restaurant and I would want to know ALL the details before going. First, we were greeted and sat IMMEDIATELY at 5:30 on a Friday night despite them being packed! (Party of 2) Within literally 2 seconds of sitting, we were served chips and two separate bowls of salsa (I love when Mexican restaurants give parties of two each their own salsa ) We were greeted by what we thought was our server, but was a staff member who took our drink order! We ordered a pitcher of the Cadillac margaritas because we heard they were phenomenal! The guy was extremely friendly and got us our drinks within 2 minutes. Another staff member came and took our order within 5-6 minutes of sitting. We ordered the Texas Fajitas, California Burrito, Queso, and Guacamole. The Queso and guacamole IMMEDIATELY came out. The guacamole was extremely fresh and the Queso was creamy and rich! We had a few chips left in the basket and a staff member immediately gave us more! (We never had to wait on chips or salsa) The Cadillac margaritas were AMAZING ‍ Tasted fresh and had remnants of pulp in them Our food came in probably 7-8 minutes from us ordering Sizzling and extremely hot. Our food was flavorful and FRESH. A lot of other Mexican places aren't like this. We were checked on multiple times by multiple staff members who were very friendly. One of the owners actually came over to ask how our meal was. We noticed he was working and helping the staff members. We noticed that all of the staff members were hustling and everyone was working as a team. LOVED seeing that. As a prior server that is much needed to have a successful restaurant and happy guests! There was even an older man who was taking chips and Queso around just having fun and greeting guests. He was awesome! It looks similar on in the inside to old Scottie's, but a much nicer and cleaner look now. The decor is unique. Black and white Mexican style decor that I loved! The place looked clean. Only received one order of tortillas and one of the entrees was missing one of the main ingredients entirely. For this order we received 3 bags of chips and 2 half-cup sized salsas (plan accordingly). The fajitas were dry--again--mind you this was a take out order (we also only live a half mile away). We decided it was time to try the New Mexican place in town. It did not disappoint. Having just opened you knew they were still decorating. The chips and salsa were next and were delivered quickly and a wonderful personality and smile. The menu was of a decent size and what you'd expect from a south St. Louis/ jeffco Mexican restaurant. They had some original looking items on the menu but they all looked like they were extensive and I want that hungry :). So we ordered the chicken chimichanga and the chorizo burrito. The Chimichanga was good, what you'd expect from a local Mexican place. The chicken was tender the sides were tasty and it was not over fried. The chorizo burrito was delicious. To summarize the service it was friendly prompt and courteous. Had many different people checking on us not just our waiter.
