We very recently spent a night at the Casa Breeze Inn, which is conveniently close to the Maine/Canada crossing near Calais/St. Stephen. Generally we had a good stay, but read carefully to see better if the Inn might fit you. We had three issues: 1) the proprietor, Susan, was often difficult to locate. as she was nowhere around when we arrived, and we never found her in the evening to talk about breakfast plans; 2) there was no AC control for our first floor bedroom (controlled from a master switch in another part of the inn); and 3) our bedroom was adjacent to the kitchen and proved a bit noisy. On the plus side, when we were able to catch up with her, Susan was quite pleasant, and she prepared a delicious breakfast for us. The room had a very comfy mattress, and the bathroom shower really worked well. The yard also is lovely, slopping down to the bay with some water activities there available for guests. The overnight rate was $135 Canadian, which seemed a little high given our issues. Maybe the upstairs rooms might be better, but we can review only what we experienced. read more
