In ANY location. 1. You can NOT call the physician's office directly, but have to go through a centralized switchboard. 2. There is NO WAY to get thru to your physician with a question or concern. 3. The front desk employees are curt, rude and dismissive. 4. They insist you come into the office before they will call in a prescription refill (on a med I've been taking for years). So they can charge you for it 5. They limit their physicians to a MAX of 15 minutes with a patient. AVOID ANY New West Physicians practice and find a Dr. @ Common Spirit or Adventist.

Well, what do you know, I've just received two lab bills, totalling $168. Apart from the price issues, there are other problems too: - When I called earlier that afternoon, and asked if this included a urine sample, the receptionist said no. Get there, sure enough, yep, we need a urine sample. Being quite unprepared for this, I requested a glass of water. They waited to give it to me after they'd done some of the other tests, and immediately after drinking it, asked "are you ready to provide your urine sample now?" In my experience, bodies need longer than 1 minute to be able to process water! - There was a skin TB test, which I was unfamiliar with. I asked a number of questions (such as "is this a needle?" and "Do you need blood?" and questions about aftercare), and she just kept telling me that it was a TB test. Even after explaining I didn't know what a TB test involved, there was no further explanation for a layperson. The best I got was that it was an intradermal injection (and no answer when I asked what that was) and not to rub it. Only under duress did I find out that you can shower and put soap over it. - After being instructed to lie down, the doctor started thumping my stomach without warning. I assume this was some test he had to do, but didn't explain it. - After being told that the paperwork would be available any time on Monday (and saying that I'd come in on Monday morning before going to work), I got suspicious and decided to call to check before driving over there. Sure enough, when i call at 8:30am, they don't have the paperwork ready, they don't know if my labs are back yet, and they'll call me when it's all done. To their credit, they did call back in 20 minutes, but it should have been ready when they said it was going to be.

I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Asplin…read more Where MDs, DOs and specialists have failed me for most of my adolescent and entire adult life, used me as an injection pincushion, a pharmaceutical petri dish and used one size fits all diagnosis, Dr. Asplin has made huge progress with me in tackling a chronic issue that has been misdiagnosed by 5 MDs over two decades. I am so grateful to have Dr. Asplin as my primary Doctor. She definitely incorporates common sense into her practice (that everyone should be reminded of from time to time). Visiting her is a very different experience than visiting an MD, because she will genuinely care about your life, nutrition, specific health challenges, and overall wellbeing. You get the sense that not only she is very intelligent, but she's also a great person and a Doctor that you can trust. There's still a little ways to go as far as reversing some of my digestive symptoms, but I've never felt better and we've made great progress.
