Not a great experience for me. From the moment I walked in the door I felt uncomfortable. It was…read moreimpossible to get an appointment with the neurologist I was referred to, Dr. Koontz, and I was assured their other neuro docs were very good so I was able to book an appointment for a 2-3 weeks out with someone else. The MA who took me back to the exam room and got me started seemed very confused like she was right out of college and wasn't sure what she was supposed to do. In addition, she only had me remove my pants for the exam, then the doctor needed me to take my long-sleeved top off so he could access my arms. He was respectful and turned his back while I removed the shirt and redonned the gown, even though I told him not necessary as I was wearing she-bra camisole that is not revealing. The neurologist I saw was Dr. Richard Rodriguez-Brizuela, DO, and he is not a great communicator. He is from Venezuela and has been in the US for 20 years, he said, but his English is very difficult to understand. At one point he said something that sounded like, "just one more and then we can depart you." I chuckled and told him that was a cute way to say I could soon go. He had not idea what I was talking about and seemed offended. I asked him to repeat what he had said and he told me I could go after the next set of tests. It was a LOT more and took much longer than, "soon." The whole EMG testing process of my right side from shoulder to foot took 90 minutes and was very painful at times. I had previously seen a neurologist some years ago and had an EMG for the same area to check progression of nerve damage from failed back surgery 27 years ago. That test confirmed what I already knew and I felt nothing but some strong taps and the whole exam only took about 30 minutes. The doc at CO Neurodiagnostic also did my arms saying that's the way they do it and I figured it was no big deal since my hand doctor was concerned about carpal tunnel, which was also confirmed by this EMG. The whole experience felt like a Twilight Zone episode and I don't think I would go there again. Maybe seeing Dr. Koontz would have been a better experience, but I'll never know.

Can I give it no stars? Started off with them with my appt not being actually on the date they…read moresaid it was. They blamed the receptionist. Made a new appt and it wasn't great. Kept trying to get treatments approved with my insurance and realized they were submitting for the wrong things. When my insurance asked for a peer to peer review I was called and said they don't do that.

Marc M Treihaft , MD - I should send them a bill for $200 for wasting 1.5 hours of my time for not showing up to my appointment! How is that fair?

My right arm had been falling asleep on and off for a while, no big deal. Well time went on, and it…read morewas getting worse, keeping me up at night. Then, as another month went by, my arm was falling asleep throughout the day as well, and staying asleep. My entire arm was numb, and there was pain in my hand, down to my fingers too. This wasn't going away. Something was up, and it was more than just "falling asleep" at night. I went to see my orthopaedic doctor. I wasn't sure if it was my shoulder and a pinched nerve, which I really thought it was, or my elbow, or my hand/wrist. After xrays, my doctor referred me to Dr. Marc M Treihaft, for an EMG, or nerve study. I made the appointment, and was lucky enough to get in, within several days. The staff in the office were very friendly. When Dr. Treihaft walked into the exam room, I wasn't sure what to expect, as I had never had a nerve study, otherwise called an EMG. He explained the process. We chatted about this and that, as he conducted the EMG study. The EMG did hurt a bit, little shocks, like when you accidentally touched an electrical socket when you were a kid. Once he was done measuring and doing the little electrical shocks (which didn't do any permanent damage or anything like that, you can tolerate it), he moved on to the needle part. Now when a small needle is inserted into the muscle, it will hurt a touch, and it did. It's just like getting a shot, rather several shots, over a few minutes. But, again, you can tolerate it. When he did this, he would put his hand against your arm, and say, "move your arm up," etc, which you do. These little "shots" are for a few seconds. It really is tolerable. Dr. Treihaft will tell you before he starts, that if at any time you are uncomfortable, to tell him, and he will stop. I knew that being a bit uncomfortable was worth it, as we needed to get to the bottom of what was causing my arm to be constantly numb now. Dr. Treihaft finished the test, and I thanked him for his time. My arm was sore, but nothing out of the ordinary. I took several Advil when I got home, and that did the trick. I know my referring doctor will get the results, and we'll go from there. As for other aspects of this review..... parking is in a large private parking lot. The office staff is very nice. I called back several days later, to ask a few questions, and they were on top of things. I was very appreciative. Thanks, Dr. Treihaft. No offense, hopefully I won't see you again, but if I do, I know I can count on you, and your staff, to do an excellent job, and treat me with respect as well. Thank you!

I was sent to Dr Treihaft for a workman's comp claim. I showed up 15 minutes prior to my…read moreappointment as advised 10:45am. At 11:45am I politely asked if it would be much longer. The receptionist stated 30-35 minutes longer. I asked to be rescheduled and she said it had to be re-approved. I left and called my claim examiner from workman's comp. I asked to be rescheduled and explained the situation. I just received a $100. Statement - for not showing up to my appointment! I was not told of this policy when I made the appointment, nor was it explained to me by the very grumpy receptionist. My claim examiner said workman's comp. would take care of it. The doctor clearly did not have time to see me. The receptionist could have explained the issue when I checked in. Isn't that the professional way to handle things when you are late? Perhaps she could have called ahead of time before I wasted the hour appointment and 50 minutes of driving. Perhaps she should schedule this greedy Doctor more time when she makes appointments. I won't waste anymore of my time. The office is old and dingy, the receptionist rude, and the wait unacceptable. This isn't rocket science in time management. After reading the few good reviews, I believe they were written by co-workers or friends of this Dr. Sorry, but the negative one's seem much more authentic.
