To start off, I pass by this place pretty frequently, and before the renovations, my family and I always referred to it as the "ghost factory." So, seeing the building completely renovated and brought back to life was honestly amazing! We came during a fairly busy time of day, and the place was packed. Even so, we only waited about 15 minutes to be seated, which I thought was pretty great for a busy restaurant. I also really liked that they kept the industrial aesthetic throughout the space, it gave the restaurant a lot of character and made the renovation feel intentional. I also noticed that each of the tables had information about their social cornhole league, which I thought was a super fun touch! As for the food it was pretty standard in my opinion. I think if you order the pizza definitely split it as it is quite big, but the fried pickles were delicious! Overall I probably would come again. read more

Cool space and good food - check it out! We had heard about this brewery from some friends and it has been on our list to try for a while. If you are in Maineville/Kings Mills area -- or just like in breweries in interesting locations, check it out! We were seated after a short wait by the brewmaster, who also helped us select our beer. Amber ale for me and an IPA for husband. Our server was friendly and prompt, and the food came out quickly. It was pretty busy, being trivia night, but the staff seemed to have a handle on things! We ordered the Brussels and potato appetizer and it was great. It was large and honestly could almost have been dinner for us -- certainly could easily be shared by 4! We cleared the plate on our own though. I had the salmon sandwich with sweet potato fries. Very good, though I was so full from the appetizer so I just ate the salmon from the sandwich, and maybe 1/4 of the fries. Hubs got the burger with an egg on top either regular fries. He was happy with his choice. The brewery itself is very cool -- old brick factory, large wall-to-wall windows, super tall ceilings. We sat at a high top in the bar area which is quite large, though there is dining area. I think the bar area is more interesting looking though. The factory building (now loft apartments), the smoke stack, and the tower, all red brick, are striking looking. It's great the preserved this WWI / WWII era place. We had a pretty strange experience overall at Cartridge tonight, and I truly hate leaving low-star reviews so I was looking for things to redeem the weirdness. Unfortunately something in the kitchen seemed off and the issues piled up. I have always had great experiences in the past, and truly want them to succeed so I am hopeful this was an "off" night and that they will adjust in no time! I will start with the positives: the building is gorgeous and worth the visit off the beaten path. You can bike right up to it- we typically do this. It's right off the bike trail and a great distance away from downtown Loveland for a nice ride. Beautiful restoration of the old space and cool branding. The menu honestly all sounds delicious on paper. The woman at the hostess stand was very friendly and all of the waitstaff seemed to be working overtime to stay afloat. No one was slacking, they were all spending an inordinate amount of time in the kitchen and still managing everything outside too so I commend them on their attitude and service. Though it was a little weird that no one acknowledged how poorly things were going, I can appreciate that they didn't snap back at the many folks who were short with them or respond in any way except positive, smiling, and understanding. Now for the rest of the visit. After being seated, our waitress took our order for apps and drinks, and explained the note on the menu that said "Tuesday-All day happy hour!". We ordered fried pickles and 2 drinks, a beer and a mocktail. She came back a few moments later and we put in an order for 2 burgers. The beer came out but the mocktail never did... this is when we started to see if anyone would return to our table and realized that they were not going to. We did not see the waitress who had initially helped us for over 30 minutes. It was near impossible to flag down another because they were rushing around and looked stressed. Another waitress finally brought out 2 burgers. We noted that there was no rush but we were still waiting on one drink and the app. She seemed confused but went to go check. We were hopeful all would be solved. She returned with the drink a while later, but said the fried pickles were being remade- they had been forgotten. I appreciated that they made us fresh ones, but still confused about what happened with both items never making it to us. Thought that would be the worst of it but it spiraled after that. The burgers were okay, but one came without any sauce. One had a small amount on the bottom bun and the other was dry. I thought I would just ask for a side of the thousand island it was meant to come with, but again- there was no way to get a server's attention. By this time, the table next to us was getting frusteated with their wait as well. When our appetizer was finally delivered, I tried to ask for a side of sauce, but the table next to us was so desperate to get their issues addressed that I couldn't get a word in. The burgers were fine, Iif a bit dry, but nothing to write home about. Which is a bummer because it happened to be their Cincy Burger Week special. The fried pickles were pretty good but we both commented we didn't want the whole dish because they were so coated with oil towards the bottom. By this time, we had been there for over an hour and were ready for the check. Notably, the table next to us received their food and both of their burgers were wrong from what they had ordered. :( There was also a beer dropped off to the table next to us but never addressed again. Our check never came... we just sat and sat. When it did come... my heart sank seeing it was inaccurate- none of the happy hour pricing on apps or drinks had been applied. We waited for the waitress to come back and collect the check, which she would have had to do even if the bill was correct. But she never came... we waited 18 minutes before my husband went to go interrupt her at the computer, which we felt bad doing but we were worried it would never be addressed and our toddler was getting antsy The bill was fixed and we asked her to stay until she could bring it back. Phew- finally done. Folks all around the taproom were noticing too and sharing our confusion/impatience. A woman came up and asked for her glass of wine to be cancelled because it had been so long. The beer next to us sat still unattended. The strangest part was that none of this was addressed- not an apology or explanation. I definitely would have empathized with the struggle if they would have explained they were short staffed we would have been totally understanding, but we felt a little like we were in the twilight zone. Really hoping Cartridge can get back to getting their orders out completely/ correctly, and organizing their staff so they can check in on their tables' needs without being tracked down across the room. First the place is really nice considering the history and what it looked like before the renovation. The food was alright, some of the meat was very dry, and it took forever for the waiter to just bring me a water. He would walk right past me and look at our table but no water. Came on a Sunday afternoon for some food and to watch some football. We order the pretzels and beer cheese with cheese curds. This was my favorite part of the meal. The beer cheese and pretzels were great! The cheese curds were fried just right and their ranch was delicious. We got a burger, bbq plater, pizza, and pulled pork tacos. Everything was just ok. The bbq plater tasted like it was a day old and was super dried out. The sauce didn't even really help. The best out of the entrees was probably the pizza but still wasn't my favorite. read more

Hello! I really do love coming to Cartridge. The building is awesome -- it's like walking into a piece of history and a brewery at the same time. Not many places can make an old munitions factory feel warm and inviting instead of like you're about to start assembling something explosive, but somehow they nailed it. The service is always great, and Jake and Joe especially make it feel like a true neighborhood spot. They remember people, they joke around, and they keep things moving even when the place is packed. They're a huge part of why I keep coming back. And the food... man. The wings are hands-down the best in town. No debate there. And the pickle pizza? That thing gives me quite a tickle. Whoever came up with that combo deserves an award. If you want great food, great beer, great people, and a place with a genuinely cool story behind it, Cartridge Brewery's the move. read more

Late Friday night... Spur the moment, "Hey, let's try Cartridge Brewing." Boy, am I glad I did. I was alone, hungry..... so I sat at the bar. A wide variety on the menu. Several appetizers, salads, pizzas, burgers, wings,...and much more. With the bartender/waitress's help (Kailey - very nice, attentive, and friendly), I decided on two appetizers and a salad. Korean pork belly Cheese curds with ranch Seizure salad with grilled shrimp All three were fantastic. The Korean pork belly is like something I've never experienced. If you just get one thing, please get the Korean port belly appetizer. It's enough for one person, as an entire meal. I told Kailey, if they had someone standing at the front door, passing out samples as customers walked in... they would sell out of this every night. They made up for pizza oven with the sale on appetizers during happy hour (1/2 price) & $4 beers. The ambience outside on the river is amazing. Short drive to great Wolf Lodge or Kings Island if you're here for the family. We love the military history of the place as veterans. Plenty of parking. The service was extremely attentive. Let me start with saying I typically do not post bad reviews, but was not impressed at all with this restaurant. So the pork belly appetizer was good to start with which is why I gave it a 2. I got the smokestack and had the pulled chicken and pulled pork with double fries. The only thing good were the fries. The chicken was lukewarm at best same with the pulled pork. The pulled pork had very little seasoning and was watery. Service was not great as we had to always track our waitress down to get anything and they were not busy. Really not worth the money we spent and the fact that they charge you the service fee to use your credit card. Will not return. read more

It pains me to write this review. When Cartridge first opened, I was their biggest foodie fan. The pretzels and beer cheese....the Brew burger....TOP SHELF FOOD....i have been recommending them since the beginning despite my absence.....however....here we go. I was so disappointed tonight. The menu has totally changed. The Brew burger, which was the best burger ever, isn't even offered anymore. I got the Cinci burger and had beer cheese add red by it was so messy, I could eat it. The beer cheese was thick and cold and not the same. No pretzel bun option.... I am not even going to elaborate at this point but will just say this. They have taken what was a local, quality staple and fit it in a corporate burger. Too focused on everything but quality food. Even the specialty blueberry lemonade was like drinking syrup. I just don't even know what to say other than I was such a champion for this spot and now I am so disappointed that I'm not even giving this spot a second chance which makes me incredibly sad. This was our second time here....first time in over a year though. Husband and I decided to do a little date night. We didn't have any issues getting a table and our server was super nice. The atmosphere has a cool vibe. Decent amount of food and drink choices. My husband really enjoyed a couple of the dark beers he tried. Our only complaint was the lack of flavor on our food. We shared some pork nachos and pork belly. Both lacking in good flavor. I was excited to try the pork belly and I was left disappointed. They were also kind of dry. The nachos needed a queso style cheese instead of beer cheese and needed less corn. We also did not like the carolina gold style sauce. It ruined the flavor. They also need to put more pork on them. The cheese curds we got were really good. Dessert was amazing! We got the deep fried pb&j and oh my gosh it was soooo good. Get this!!!!! I'll start my review by saying that the brewery doesn't exactly feel super welcoming with a 'seat yourself and order on an app' situation. It would be nice for a human to greet you and confirm you're doing things correctly. Because it's self-service focused, we didn't get water or silverware right away. Despite the above, my friends and I had an excellent visit. The brewery smelled and looked super clean, and there was plenty of seating. Our food was amazing. We loved the pretzels with cheese, the pizza, the fries, and the fried cheese curds. The fried pickles were just okay. My beer was all very good too; there were plenty of lighter options which I appreciated. The location is also super cool and I'm excited to see if more gets added to the building. Most of all the tables were either covered in old dirty dishes or the table itself was in poor shape or covered in some sort of animal debris.Upon paying my bill I didn't notice my total included tax and a credit card surcharge. So I stupidly tipped someone who only took my money and typed my dinner order into the machine 20% on the total of my bill. Next day I looked at the receipt and realized that is how they do business.To add insult to injury my credit card is also pending another amount that was not my order. Went a week ago for dinner on Saturday night. Service was disappointing. My husband had to ask the server twice for a Coke before he actually got one and it took about 15 minutes. Throughout our meal, our server didn't come by to check on us at all. We had to wave her over after our food arrived to get drink refills and things we needed for our meals. Beyond the service, I'd like to talk about the fooWe had the pickles and the cheese curds to start. The pickles were pretty good. The cheese curds on the other hand were chewy. For dinner I ordered a Cartridge cheeseburger and asked for no tomato & no onion. I guess that means leave everything off the burger, because it came with nothing on it. Aside from this, it was a decent burger. It would have been better with lettuce and pickles. I had sweet potato fries as a side, they were pretty good. When the bill came, the server had the wrong meals on our checks. We decided to just work it out with the other couple we were dining with rather than have the server fix it. As I was double-checking our bill I noticed that I was charged $12 for my Manhattan (which was the price on the menu) and then below it I was charged $1 for Bulleit. When I asked the server about this she told me the $1 was for the alcohol. Ummmm....the drink description on the menu had alcohol in it. Then I was told it was because they don't make that alcohol there on the premises. Again, there's alcohol in the description -- not to mention the $12 price tag. I could understand if I requested a different bourbon...but I didn't. After she went back into the kitchen and came back to tell us they were adjusting it this time, we told her that we weren't upset with her, we just wanted the restaurant to know that it's not okay to list one price and then add to it at check out. She was done with us at that point. In hindsight, I should have asked to speak to a manager. I'm not sure we'll be back. It's a shame because the food is pretty decent, but doesn't make up for the lack of service and questionable pricing practice. read more

It took far too long for us to make the trek up to Cartridge Brewing, and it didn't disappoint! First, the vibe: Bright and spacious, somehow homey while maintaining the look of a warehouse/factory and right off the Loveland Bike trail. You can see the brewery from the dining room too. Second, the beer. I ordered a flight of Sabot (IPA), Grounded (coffee IPA), Prost ( (Munich dunkel), and Covert (schwarzbier). He got a flight too, but I only remember the Up the Hill (Munich Helles). The beer was great. Sabot is a solid IPA, the Prost and Covert were delish and both true to style. Up the Hill May have been my fave. I believe it's made with Pilsner malts and had a lovely Pilsner bite that reminded me of a Polish pils my uncle used to drink. Lastly, the food. We ordered a cheese pizza with basil and extra sauce on the side, and the Mexican Steak Salad. The pizza is a Detroit style pizza, so super thick, with a nice buttery and crunchy crust. I really enjoyed it. The salad was alright. The steak was a bit chewy, and I got a large piece that I couldn't break down by chewing. With a mouthful of steak, I had to ask the waitress to bring me a paper product to discard it in (they use cloth napkins). That was a bit awkward. Lol. All in all a great experience, so I look forward to getting back there and checking out the Mac n cheese! read more

I've never heard of Cartridge Brewing (My Mr has though). This was an accidental trip but it turned out to be an excellent experience. Originally we were supposed to go to Warped Wing. The wait was an hour and 45 minutes long. Nope. Not for us. Plus I had bad vibes of that place so My Mr mentioned Cartridge was nearby. I was skeptical but once we got there I fell in love with the building, it's history (used to be gun powder factory) and where it's located. It's near the bike trail on the hills of the Ohio Valley. Dined in for dinner and was told there is a 30 minute wait. Which we were fine. You leave your name and number. They will text you once a table is ready. In less than 30 minutes were seated. Our server was Cade. He was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Menu selection was simple. So much to choose from. Besides their beer on tap, they serve wine and cocktails. We ordered: Angel's Ink Pinot Noir Flight (Fuse blueberry blonde, Airborne amber lager, Drop Zone IPA, Katana rice DIPA) Buffalo cauliflower (Mae ploy sauce) Mexican Street Corn Salad w/ smoked salmon Kentucky hot brown Wow! The appetizer was amazing! I requested light sauce. Which had great flavor and went well with the blue cheese. This is one of my fave salads so far. Loved the smoked salmon with the arugula, corn and dressing. Had a great citrus taste! My Mr kept raving on his Kentucky Hot brown. I tried a bite and was amazed! Besides the food i tried my Mr's flight and my fave is the blueberry blonde ale! Very refreshing and light. Everything was perfect! Love the setting of the brewery. Industrial, cozy and welcoming.
