BACKGROUND INFO: - my SO's elderly grandfather (95 years…read moreold) was in dire need of a pedicure (extremely overgrown toenails) that he indicated he'd been trying to get addressed for several months - initially my SO's brother and his SO were going to address it, but backed down - my SO's sister and I scheduled an appointment on Friday 6/16 to go to a trusted nail salon, but on Wednesday 6/14 the grandfather backed out of it, insisting on finding an in-home service so he'd be in the comfort of his own home WHY WE WENT WITH SOULTREE: - Wednesday 6/14 evening I went on Yelp to search for "mobile nail service" vendors and opened up a project to cast a wider net - Nicole Williams from Soultree messaged me within 20 minutes of my Yelp project opening, providing me her name and phone number to call and schedule an appointment - out of all the mobile nail service vendors, Nicole was the most responsive and the most professional (she has a website and an IG page) CUSTOMER SERVICE (SCHEDULING COMMUNICATION): - I called her shortly after receiving her message and spoke to her on the phone - after our brief phone call I texted Nicole; our communication was mainly via text afterwards - after sending her recent photos of my SO's grandfather's feet (as part of the virtual consultation), she suggested the nail care package and provided an extensive description of service(s) pricing and accepted payment forms (i.e. PayPal, Venmo, CashApp, Apple Pay) - she indicated that she would possibly have scheduling conflicts due to waiting on confirmation of an internship, but opened up her weekend availability to service my SO's grandfather on Sunday 6/18, which also happened to be Father's Day - after confirming the appointment for Sunday 6/18 at 10AM, I sent Nicole the $150 deposit (applied towards service; non-refundable if canceled or not available for appointment time) + $65 travel fee via Venmo - I provided her with the address + parking information (FYI, clients are responsible for any/all parking fees) and contact information of my SO's sister (I was just the point of contact for finding and scheduling a vendor, but my SO's sister was the point of contact for accompanying the grandfather for the actual appointment) CUSTOMER SERVICE (APPOINTMENT): - Nicole arrived promptly at 10AM; my SO's sister was present for the duration of the appointment and reported that everything Nicole brought and used was clean, the conversation was ongoing between Nicole and the grandfather, and the end result was great COMPARING/CONTRASTING INFORMATION CRITIQUE: - Yelp indicates that Soultree's hours are Monday through Friday from 8AM-2PM, Saturday 8AM-12PM, and closed Sunday. Soultree's appointment times per the website under "Nail Services - Book Online" also indicate 8AM-2PM appointment time availability. On the initial phone call with Nicole and subsequent text communication she informed me she only accepts Monday through Friday 8AM-12PM appointments" - Her website indicates that her travel fee is "$35 and up depending on service location", but via text she indicated that her travel fee is "$65 or $0.75 cents a mile and up depending on location once address is confirmed" - Via text, her suggestion of the pedicure package was the "Specialty Nail Care Package #2"; further in the text explanation it states "Just Toenails - $150 per hour". On her website there are "Mommy Packages" as well as "Basic Manicure/Basic Pedicure" or "Spa Manicure/Pedicure" Packages at different prices - I would suggest that Nicole ensures that all platforms containing her pricing and scheduling availability is consistent and up to date TOTAL: - I sent (via Venmo) the $150 deposit + $65 travel fee = $215 - SO's sister sent (via CashApp) the remaining balance ($150/hour) and tip = $200 - $415 was the overall total

I never feel rushed and her studio is quiet with a sense of peace. I get gel polish on my natural nails, and after 6 weeks I was still getting compliments. The studio is conveniently located on Bay Street with ample parking and lots of shopping and places to eat to have a full day of pampering and self care.

I can show her ANY design and she always makes it even better than I had imagined. She's thorough and very knowledgeable about nail care to ensure my real nails still thrive under the acrylics and her pedicures are super relaxing. She's also in a private suite so you don't have to worry about other people being in an appointment with you which was an added bonus for me.

I went in on 4/11, texted her on 4/12. It was raining pretty hard so I was stuck at home not doing anything crazy to justify the chipping. It's now the 16th and crickets. I spent $150 ($50 deposit, $100 day of service) for gel nails that haven't even lasted as long as regular polish. Not to mention, when I arrived there were no instructions on how to get into the building. No signage. No way to communicate with her. I almost left until she texted me 7 minutes after the scheduled appointment time. I'm pregnant and I was out waiting in the rain as I had taken a Lyft there. I want my money back! I work hard for what I have and this is definitely not worth $150.
