Finding a staff member on the floor is impossible. My wife was looking for a certain size of jeans and you would think when a staff member sees you digging through shelves, it's time to ask us if we need assistance. Not the case. We looked around to see if someone was near by. Nope. Lastly, even though the store is the same layout there are flaws. There's a hidden area in the kids dept that goes nowhere. I'm confused by that choice. The selection right now is bleak but I suspect once the store gets humming and they have some metrics the stock will increase. So before anyone craps on this place give it time. It will be better soon enough. Just be grateful that we finally got old navy in shpk.

The store was kind of messy, perhaps it was because it was a weekend. I also found it difficult to find what items were actually on sale. There was a rack of pants that said 50% off. I grabbed a pair and set out to double check the price. I found someone and she asked where I had found it. She said only the marked pants were on sale. I went through the 17 pairs of pants and found 3 that were on sale. I was finally able to find a pair of pants on sale and also picked up 2 tank tops. Not in a hurry to go back.

What Sanriela lacks in quantity, it makes up for in quality. All clothes are made in France, and they are fabulous! I bet that any little person who gets dressed at Sanriela is very popular on the playground: ) The following brands are sold at Sanriela: 3 Pommes, Catimini, Floriane, IKKS and Jean Bourget. The clothes are nicely tailored, made from good materials and overall look very fun yet presentable. I located grey wool dress that looked like little version of Chanel dress I once saw in an online couture boutique. How precious is that? There was nothing but kiddie sandals in the shoe area but when Tawny came and asked if she could help us, I told her we were looking for some dress boots. She said she had just what we were looking for and went into the back and pulled out some boots that had not yet made it to the shelf. She explained that if we were looking for something to just ask at the counter and they would see what they have in the back. The boots were perfect, way cheaper than at a woman's shoe store, and the service we received from Tawny was first class.

I just can't justify dressing up kids in this stuff as I don't think a 7 year old should know her Burberry from her Diesel just yet! Let kids be kids and rip holes in their clothes and wear whatever! This store is really more for parents who want to create little fashionistas. For that reason I can't give this store a good rating as I really think it sends a horrible message and isn't for kids anyways. Plus, the customer service was not wonderful the day I was in there. I was ignored for the first 5 minutes and finally asked "do you need something?" before the sales girl went back to doing whatever it was she was doing. Came home with a giant bag filled with books to overfill our already filled bookshelves! But hey, since when could one have too many books? Once Upon a Child is HANDS DOWN the best consignment store chain for used children's clothing and accessories. I've frequented them in Edmonton for several years now and even visited one in Saskatoon! You can drop off your gently used clothing and toys to trade in for store credit if you'd like as well. They offer a frequent purchaser stamp card to earn discounts and usually have coupons in the SUTP coupon book. They are on facebook and have an e-mail list if you would like advance notice for upcoming sales and specials! They also carry new items like Melissa & Doug at prices below what you would find at Toys R Us. They typically get my kids to try on at least 3 pairs of shoes/ sandals/ boots, watch them as they walk in them, and then tell me whether they think they're a good fit or not. I'm sad that my oldest is growing out of their sizes. As for price, yes, it's more expensive ... but you also have staff who actually know what they're doing, instead of just picking something off a rack yourself at Walmart. I would prefer to spend the extra, and know that someone has actually taken a look at my kids' feet and the support they need. As someone who has had lots of issues with my own feet, including fallen arches, this is vitally important to me. I have never had issues with anyone here being rude to me. Busy, absolutely, but I feel very welcomed here and my kids love coming to the shop.

She explained that she is always on the hunt for the latest children's fashions, and recently came back from New York where she found amazing styles that will hit the shelves of her store in the spring. The lady was lovely and very friendly. As I browsed store's selection, I was impressed with how beautiful most of the clothing items were. Did you know that 7 for All Mankind make jeans for children? They look just as sophisticated as jeans for adults and...well...cost about just as much. Also, I was surprised to see Juicy Couture items for children. They very cute, and, again, rather expensive. There are clothes by many other brands in the store. As I browsed through children's sweaters, jackets, outerwear and dresses (sometimes very fancy once), I kept thinking what it would have been like to have this kind of fashionable items as I was growing up. The shoes section of the store is nice too. There are booties, rain boots, casual and dress shoes for all occasions and at all price points. When I was in the store, there was a buy one pair and get another one half off even going on. The owner couldn't stress enough how important it was to clear out the inventory to make room for new arrivals in the spring. I will make sure to check back because I do have a little person in my life for whom I can shop at this store.
