On my first visit to Dr. Mitchell, I initially went to the 3rd floor (Suite 325) but was informed by the receptionist there that he had moved down to the first floor. Sure enough, when I went down the elevator, I saw his name showing among two other names for the MedStar Orthopaedic Institute (Suite 125). This is in building 18109 on the MedStar grounds. From the outside of Suite 125, you can't see inside, but they are open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm - push the door to enter. Parking is available (free) both in front of the building and behind it as well.
My primary care physician referred me to him for a visit, and I was glad the choice was made (did a little research myself). The office has up to 15 or 20 chairs in the lobby area. On my recent visit, I checked in with the receptionist by completing the check-in sheet. I then provided whatever forms or ID that were requested of me and then patiently waited for my name to be called. Be aware that the office is shared by 3 doctors so the lobby may or may not be full of people.
Soon, my name was called and not long after, I had my appointment with Dr. Mitchell. So far, my experiences with him and his staff have been pleasant. Any questions I posted were answered. I would refer him to others, based on my experiences with him. read more
