His imaging diagnosis convinced me of the importance to move forward with hip replacement surgery. Summit Orthopedics works closely with Sibley Hospital so I was able to schedule a Monday morning surgery and overnight stay at the hospital. The Nurse Navigator Supervisor at Sibley provided information on Pre-Op procedures and an appointment with Sarah, Summit's Nurse Practitioner, involved a review of the surgical procedures and the list of medications with a review of frequency. Dr. Siram brought together a great surgical team comprised of the Sibley Hospital Orthopedic doctors and nursing staff and an anaesthesiologist. The first nurse assigned to my post-Op care placed top priority on Pain Control and coordinated a meeting with In-House PT/OT Team to review and practice the Post-Operative exercises. I completed 2 weeks of In-Home physical therapy with Potomac Home Health Care, affiliated with Johns Hopkins and Sibley. The PT specialist was exceptional: checked vitals; reviewed my medications; provided a home exercise plan that helped me to begin walking with and without a cane, before starting In Office Post-Op PT. I would strongly recommend the Dr. Siram | Sibley Orthopedic Team.

They repeatedly told me in advance that there was no charge for my upcoming appointments. Then they stopped sending updates, and out of the blue, two months after my last appointment, they sent me a bill for over $2,000. I called the billing department and they would not call me back. I finally reached the billing department, and they just told me that I should have known the charge. I told them that they had never told me what the charge was. They just repeated that I should have known. Stay away unless you are fine with big bills.

As a result, now I must waste time filing a small claims court case to see if I can prevail and get rid of this bill. This has been a horrible experience.

Dr. Bobrow was the fourth "top" DC total-knee-replacement surgeons I interviewed in January of this…read moreyear. He was the only of the four that took seriously my fears based on my significant pre-existent condition (beside my deeply arthritic right knee: significant atrophy of all my right leg muscles stemming complications from the removal from the back of my right thigh of a 10 pound, benign tumor when I was 13. Only Dr. Bobrow of the four candidate surgeons had me disrobe to my briefs, and actually examined my entire right leg, including touching it (!). He then told me in detail how my TKR would be somewhat more complicated than usual, and ordered a few tests (e.g., leg/blood circulation) to ensure that my leg was "up to" the surgery. Dr. Bobrow and his excellent team did a great job. My real work began the day after surgery, when the meds wore off, and I was immediately thrust into intense (and initially (three weeks) quite painful) PT, conducted by the experts at ED&A Therapy, located conveniently next door to Dr. B' offices at Summit Orthopedics. By week 4, I was walking without assistance -- but the real benefit was that I awoke each morning to the repeated good news of there being absolutely no pain in my right knee. I'm now 3 months plus, I am walking strong and even, and my atrophied right leg muscles have returned, though I still have a long ways to go! I feel every day something I haven't felt in many years: strong and completely symmetrical. I won't dwell on the pain, frustrations, and hard emotions I experienced in the early weeks -- for a surgery as serious as this, these really have to be expected. The team ensures you have access throughout your recovery to the medication needed to manage your physical pain. Dr. B's office staff is competent, cordial and helpful -- but one must expect that he/she will experience some hiccups with processing and paperwork, and some extended waiting periods beyond the promised appointment time. But this is truly minor stuff. Though he has been doing TKRs and other procedures for some time, Dr. Bobrow comes across as excited with and enthused about his work. Being able to vanquish the constant, often searing pain that comes with an arthritic knee -- now, that's a great talent! I give Dr. Bobrow and his team my highest recommendation for TKR.

My mother recently had knee replacement surgery performed by Dr Bobrow. While he's seemingly a…read moretalented surgeon, I have little positive to say about the after-care program. It seems that Dr. B feels his job is done when the incision is stitched. He departed on vacation shortly after performing the operation and never reached out to determine how my mom was doing (not terribly well). I would urge anyone researching surgeons to look closely at the follow-up regimen, a vital but often inferior piece of American medicine.

The…read morestaff uses a lot of trainees who are randomly called on during your session with the actual PT who seems to have several clients at one time and can't focus on you . The aides seem incompetent and often don't know what your warmup routine is or what you're there for, as if the information is not updated for your visit. Also, some of the therapists seem over aggressive in their treatments, and as an older patient I don't and can't do heavy weights and frankly I got worse going to my sessions. They also leave you unsupervised for gaps of time where no one can correct your form or take your heavy weight from you. The therapists also are always having in depth conversations about sports, their weekends, their lives, their pets, as they 'work' on you and seem unfocused and careless about their jobs. The front desk staff is also rude and disrespectful at times and there is always a backlog of patients waiting to be checked in! I came here because it's close to my house and i have used a doctor from this practice for years but I've now found other options for my treatment and PT!

While I received PT services from about all of the physical therapists (Jessica and Mercedes), Brittany really was instrumental in taking the time to learn what verbal cues were key during in my recovery and PT sessions, and how quickly improvement came about with my gait. Every single person in that office was nothing less than wonderful in working with me, even though my schedule would've been maddening to me with how many times I had to switch things around. Not only did I get much much better - but working with people who cared about their jobs and patients made it so much more encouraging. This is a special group. A++

This location does treat a variety of orthopedic issues/injuries, work related injuries, but most importantly for me, they treat neurological injuries - Julie, in particular, is phenomenal, as is Mercedes. I am very impressed with this rehabilitation/ chiropractor/ physical therapy practice; they are very comprehensive with your recovery program and have a lot of great equipment and machines. They upkeep the cleanliness and wipe down before and after each patient. I'd HIGHLY recommend going here for any injury! They take my insurance as well, which is Anthem Blue Cross, so that helps with the cost. Ive been an athlete for most of my life, and now I just train at the gym and do CrossFit on occasion. I was in need for some physical therapy because I injured my groin and lower back doing heavy squats. I cannot say enough great things about this practice. So let me break it down for you... The office itself is really nice! I love the ambiance. It is a nice, cozy, trendy and clean office space. Upon walking in, you are greeted by whomever is at the front desk and there are several chairs for waiting and magazines to look at. Sam, Andrea and Carla are wonderful!!! They are very friendly and make your experience comfortable and pleasant! This place has compression machine for your legs, a physical therapy exercise area with a lot of sports/exercise equipment, office space for adjustments and additional therapies (cupping, needling, massage gun, etc.), and a warm massage bed while you're hooked up to an electrical muscle stimulation machine. Each of my appointments typically follow the same routine and i started going in twice a week for four weeks. Ill do 15 mins on the warm massage bed while hooked up to the electro stimulator, then ill do 15 minutes of compression, then 15 minutes of going through my physical therapy exercises led by Andrea. She is great at walking you through the movements and she switches up the exercises each time. Then ill see Dr. Dillon Balkin for more focused work on my injuries whether it be cupping, massaging, needling, adjustments, etc. Dr. Dillon Balkin is great! He is very professional, extremely personable and friendly, and you can tell he is passionate about his work and is very knowledgeable. I always appreciate his recommendations and they always help me progress with my recovery. My back and groin have healed tremendously and i can now do full squats with heavy weights again. I enjoyed coming here so much that I continued to go here to treat my shoulder injury from 2017 that I have been doubtful about getting treated again. I went to a different physical therapy practice for my shoulder in the past and it only got worse, so i've been hesitant to "waste money" to get it checked out again. To my honest surprise, Dr. Balkin found the issue and as i started to follow the program/exercises he prescribed me, it's actually getting better and im ecstatic! I can't say enough great things about this place. I would HIGHLY recommend this practice to anyone. I am so pleased with how my injuries have healed.
