me and my mom came here for dinner as a part of her spoiling me with my graduation trip and we got the nonna piccota. We were so engrossed in eating the first pizza and in how amazing it tasted when one of the employees came out with another free pizza for us, saying the one we had initially gotten didn't have artichoke hearts. Great pizza, service is fantastic and on top of things, and we're both left feeling so very grateful that we chose to go to this cute pizza place in port orchard! read more

Omg this place is simply amazing, hand crafted chocolate, fantastic coffee drinks, homemade cakes and pastries, and you have to try his cinnamon buns, you will never be disappointed with Carter's, the o ly things is maybe not enough time, money, or appetite. Oh and they will sell you a whole cake, or just a slice! read more

Was really excited to try this place having just moved here. When I walked in my eyes went straight to the chocolate and pastry counters, they all looked delightful. Everything was labeled nicely with names/flavors but no prices. I realized some were on the wall board. They had nice variety of savory items like quiche, paninis and stuffed brioche. While waiting I used the bathroom quickly, not a good impression walking around down the hall seeing dirty window partitions , rugs, etc.and into lavatory, just a grungy vibe. In my book a dingy bathroom means they don't take pride in cleanliness overall. So feeling a bit underwhelmed I ordered a goat cheese/pesto brioche. They also offer soup which was curry chicken so I had a cup but got and paid for a bowl? I had to ask for my soup to be heated properly, it was good but salty ( and I enjoy salt) full of lentils lacking chicken. As I was eating my soup at the front table I look down at the window sill and notice webs/bugs,just filthy!! I had to force myself to not think about it as I continued with the soup and asked for the brioche Sammy to go. I wanted to address the issue directly with one of the guys at counter but a couple people walked in taking their time. I took a bite a few minutes later my brioche and it did not taste like a pesto goat cheese combo, it was pungent in a bad way with off flavor I couldn't get past, hated to toss out $8 but not good. I was going to take a dessert to go when I was initially ordering but just found the prices a bit much. Now knowing the house keeping is an issue the prices reflect that of a higher end establishment. It's too bad, instead of the staff standing around they should be taking care of helping the appearance and sanitation of their work place. Owner /manager need to care more. read more

I heard about this place and decided to visit on a hot July day. The caramel ice cream with Jack Daniel's was very good. The lemon sorbet was also good. My Westie Abby enjoyed some vanilla in a pupcup in the seating area outside in the back with tables, chairs, and umbrellas. It was a pleasant environment to enjoy some ice cream on a hot evening in the shade. The seating area is located on the Marina side of the building in the back. The staff was helpful with ice cream choices and Abby couldn't have been happier eating ice cream with us. I'll definitely visit again. read more

I came into Carter & Co hoping for some cake and they were unfortunately out so we decided to get a bunch of other tasty looking desserts instead. Everything was really good. I'd say the cheesecake and stuffed brownie were my favorite. They were well made, flavors balanced and delicious. I especially loved the flavors of the brownie. The ice cream was unique and creamy and the flavors were really there. The shop was fun and gave us all some giggles. We liked the plants and the llamas. It was a quiet evening so our family had the shop nearly to ourselves. They were friendly and I will be going back to try the cake! The only thing I didn't like was the cookie but that's my bad because I didn't read the ingredients and wasn't a fan of all the things being mixed together but it was still a well made cookie regardless read more

We have always had great service and wonderful food and drink at Carter's. This morning was no exception as I enjoyed a warm pecan roll with plenty of pecans and just the right amount of caramel goodness to accent the light tasty roll. For me it is like sitting done with my dad after he made our family's recipe. The caramel latte was excellent as well. My mom had a decaf Americano and a lemon scone. It was also very good and brought a smile to her face. Seating inside, out front, or in the back garden offers a nice variety to start your day. Check out their broad menu from pastries, quiche, rolls, ice cream, chocolates, tarts and more. The folks at Carter's know how to start your day. read more

The ice cream was exceptionally good, and the lemon curd cake was great. The price was the best part; with 4 kids and a nanny, it can be expensive to go out for treats, but this was most definitely a fair price, and we got very decent portions. We went during the week, so it was calm but steady. They had a table that seated all 7 of us, and it had the feel of an old-school place. There were pictures of what I assume was the sweet old lady who created the place. We definitely were feeling the love. Appreciated the customer service and the welcome when we told them it was our first time here. Thank you! read more

Carter's Bakery is such a gem. Their cakes are incredibly yummy--moist, flavorful, and not overly sweet. The cookies are just as good, the kind you think you'll have one of and suddenly you're three deep. (Brown Butter Toffee is my fav.) And the latte? Excellent! Smooth, rich, and honestly better than what I've gotten at some big-name coffee spots. The staff makes the whole experience even better. Everyone I've interacted with has been warm, friendly, and genuinely happy to help. It's the kind of place where you feel welcomed the moment you walk in. I definitely recommend this bakery to anyone in the area. Whether you're grabbing a treat, a coffee, or something special for an event, Carter's is absolutely worth the stop. read more

DO BETTER CARTER & CO!!! This is what happens when you try to support local businesses these days. Take your money elsewhere!!!!! With my MINI poodle in my bag on my shoulder, I go inside and before I even get to look at their sad looking pastries in the dirty fingerprints smeared and dimly lit showcase, the young girl behind the counter says "Is that a service animal?" To that I responded "no she's not" and to my surprise the response she gave me then was "Well, we can't serve you but you can go outside and order".....so I laughed and said "oh wow even if she's in my bag??? and I'm ordering for takeout??" I walked out. It was in the middle of a heat wave in Port Orchard. Wtf do I look like ordering through the glass window from the street in the heat. read more

I checked this place out for a sweet treat while visiting friends in Port Orchard, WA. I loved the options they had! The ambiance felt like a Christmas themed all year round vibe. I did not check out the patio, but was told it is spacious and a great place for meeting up with friends. No service here, just order at the counter, but options ranged from baked goods to homemade ice cream, which is what I had, specifically the Brickleberry, which was made fresh with local blueberries and amazing! Also ordered the Swirly Jack, which was probably one of my favorite whiskey infused ice creams. They were so smooth and creamy, just what you'd want from good homemade ice cream! Definitely recommend checking out, as there's so many more options from the bakery and want to check out that patio! read more

We haven't been to Carter & Co in a few years, but we decided to pop-in on a recent trip downtown. As with our last visit, we were a bit underwhelmed. The ham and Swiss stuffed brioche we chose was decent, though the bread to filling ratio was not quite right. And the key lime tart we purchased (based on a staff's recommendation) had a bit of a strange texture and flavor profile. The cookie we ordered was quite tasty, so that was a highlight. This was the first time we opted to sit inside the establishment to eat our treats, and we found the interior a bit dark and drab, definitely in desperate need of some refreshing (as with most businesses in the downtown corridor). We really want to like this spot, as it is obvious the owner is very passionate about his business, but we've yet to be wowed. Maybe next time? read more

Wife and I went to try this past weekend as she saw the shop and wanted to try plus I saw the reviews. The service was ok, no one jumping to help, seems very "next customer" type of service (guy in mask seemed like he did not really want to be there that helped us). There was seating inside and there were ppl there. It gave off a place to stop during your walk or stroll while in downtown. It seemed outdated and needed its own vibe as it seemed to be using the prior tenants decor/ look. Wife ordered a pastry which was a 4 star. Ordered 2 specialty drinks 1 star. My wife's was bland and mine was way too sweet. Wife ended up dumping hers and drank mine as I could not get past the first sip. We personally will not return as we were very disappointed in the drinks & pastry on the higher price, but if you are into pastries & sweets, give it a try while supporting a small business. read more

Carter's is one of the best places around!! They have the most delicious cakes, pastries, and savory options as well! And they make chocolate!! They have truffles, handmade trees at Christmas and eggs at Easter, they have chocolate heart boxes you can have filled with truffles for Valentine's Day and everything we have had has been phenomenal! And there is more!! They make their own Ice cream and it is incredible! Swirly Jack is a favorite ( vanilla with a Carmel and Jack Daniel's Swirl) and their plain old chocolate and vanilla are top notch!! The proprietors are always on site making new creations. They are wonderful and welcoming. You should go!! read more

Love this chocolate/ice cream /pastry/ sandwich shop Literally a one stop shop! Atmosphere makes you feel at home . The decorations are relaxed and tables are always clean Outside seating in the front or in the garden which is covered in the back . They have the cutest library nook inside I had no idea that was there ! With a table and comfy chairs We ordered : fruit tarte , blueberry cheesecake , ice cream and a pastry that was warmed with goat cheese . I wasn't a fan of the tarte since it felt like there was no bottom, it was soupy and seemed more like a mousse on the inside ? The chocolate was bitter and I wasn't. A fan Blueberry cheesecake was WONDERFUL ! Fresh , fluffy, and yummy Ice cream: they have rotating homemade flavors I had the chocolate chip coffee and wow .... Best flavor I've ever had . It was a coffee lovers dream . Goat cheese pastry : fluffy firm bread exterior , soft melty goodness on the inside . It was wonderful tastey , flavorful and warming I love coming here and will always stay true ! Also the kiddos adore this spot read more

I went here on my b-day because Holy Water refused us service, saying their grill was shutdown 40 minutes before their closing time. After seeing Holy Water's disgusting, vacant employees vaping and hawking luggies outside, we said, "no thanks" and went over to this little gem. And what a gem it is! Their decor and ambiance is perfectly uplifting for these winter doldrums, with plants and art bursting from every crack and crevice. Their desserts and pastries are amazing, to say nothing of their goat cheese quiche. The quiche as well as the savory croissant roll I 'et were the best I'd ever had. My husband and I were really disappointed this time. We are regulars and have been for years. The kid behind the counter must have been new because his customer service skills need a lot of improvement. He acted like he didn't want to be there. The ice cream was freezer burnt. I've been here a few times before during my trips to port orchard. Stable coffee house with yummy desserts. I got the lemon tart recently and it had so much flavor despite being so simple. My kind of no-frills dessert. The last time I was there, someone took ten minutes to order and was being really picky about everything. I was patient but sort of hoped that the folks working would take other customers since the line behind was getting long. read more

Carters has baked goods, ice cream, chocolates and coffee. We usually go for the homemade ice cream. I especially enjoy the chocolate with chili spices. We were craving some dessert and stumbled on Carter & Co via Yelp. Arrived about an hour before closing, delightfully busy so that was a good sign. Helpful counter persons quick to offer assistance and answer my questions. Overwhelming number of options, you'll need to make more than one trip :) My Swirly Jack ice cream in a waffle cone was just right, happy they stuffed some ice cream down in the bottom part. Right when I was wishing there was a bit more caramel I found a pocket of yumminess. Husband devoured his caramel chocolate brownie ice cream, his standards are pretty high so it must have been good. We took some mini cheesecakes to go as well. There's a case of chocolates I'll need to investigate further. Savory options and an espresso menu. Reminds me of a bakery in Morro Bay we miss a lot. I've tried the caramel, Bailey's Irish cream, cherry, blueberry, and white chocolate & vanilla mini cheesecakes so far and have been 100% satisfied! I plan to try them all truly! They have plenty more there too, including their deep dish cookies. How insanely good does that sound? There's even savory food items that are equally incredible! All of their everything is just so delicious and I know no matter which menu item I choose it won't be the wrong one here! Definitely: Try. This. Place. read more

New to the area so took a little time to meander on Main Street. Popped in here when the heat was too much. As much as I love pastries, I went for ice cream which I rarely eat. The blackberry sorbet was fantastic! The young lady was very helpful and offered a few ice cream recommendations, then offered a couple of samples (all delicious). The backyard garden is excellent, cheers to the gardener. Given the owner does seem to read these reviews, I would suggest turning down the music or changing the genre. It was very loud, and grating at times (and it was music I liked) There was table of 3-4 elderly trying to enjoy their ice cream and chat but they couldn't hear each other. They left pretty quickly. I tried to do a little work but it was too distracting and left. I can't wait to be hungry and return for some of the many things they offer! read more

This place was fantastic. The young lady working the front counter was very friendly and helpful. My wife and I ordered the chicken panini and it was delicious.
