Built in 1912, the CVIC Hall is one of the most recognizable historic building in Douglas County. In its infancy and during its youth, the Hall served as a movie theater, a gymnasium, a live theater, a church, and a center of Carson Valley social life. Today it is Minden's primary venue for community events, government meetings, and cultural performances.
I've been here mostly for symphony performances, particularly TOCCATA and the Tahoe Philharmonic. I've found the acoustics to be pretty good and enjoy being in this space. Judging by the brick blocked windows on one side, perhaps CVIC was more "free standing" in previous years. read more
