The woman greeted us ok until we mentioned we were from California. Face fall, "oh." Was her reaction. Once I told her we had family here, always up here, finally moved to our favourite city, etc, etc, did she look at us least somewhat welcoming. Then she said go to the website for info and gave us tourist sheets. I especially wanted to know how to volunteer at the Chamber/Visitor centre but she took that thought right out of me. I know Californians are coming in droves, I get that but the attitude there shows a negative, not welcoming air to potential homeowners, new business owners, new tax payers, landlords, etc. I'm embarrassed for the Chamber and kind of sad...

There's a sign on it that says out of order. But on the upside I just learned about this 3d printer I couldn't be more thrilled. Yes the library now has a 3-D print lab. They only allow 1/mo and it must be something that was successfully printed from thingverse or similar site. in other words you probably can't just design your own without uploading it to one of those sites first and getting others to successfully printed to show that it's not a disaster and then it is a successful design not that they only offer PLA (Polylactic Acid). It is the standard for library printers because it's easy to use and doesn't give off toxic fumes, it can warp if left in the direct summer sun or high heat though so if you're printing something for use outdoors you may need to spray on a protectant of some sort.

Not only is it a great place for students to come for a quiet place to study, it is also perfect for anyone looking to use the computers or have a quiet space to work or read. They have free wifi, printing and copying that are only 10 cents a page. They also have fantastic rooms in the back where you can study with a group, or if you just want a private space to be alone and quiet to concentrate. These rooms are such a plus! Where else can you go to use free wifi, but also have a private area all to yourself? In these economic times, money is scarce, renting movies can be $3-$5! But at the library, you can rent three movies at once for FREE! Not to mention, their late fees for books are very low so if you forget to return a book for a few days you wont be paying big bucks. Check it out! As a lover of books and quiet places, I highly recommend.

Okay here is what makes this a 5-star rating vs a 1-star rating…read more It all depends on who you get as a clerk. I had a very high fine for being one month late in getting insurance. The first clerk I saw, told me I needed to show proof of insurance, otherwise, I was SOL. So I left and went to my daughter's, where I could use her computer and print out the info. (I live too far away to do that on the same day) Went back to court showed my info and the new clerk I got told me that unfortunately, I was a month late, however.... she directed me to the computer and printer they had on site. She told me there was a form available if you are having trouble paying and it would be a hardship for you. So I filled out the form, printed it, and brought it to the third clerk I saw that day. He was also very helpful, and picked out from the paperwork I gave him, what the judge would need to see. So after all is said and done, I did get a substantial reduction in fine. Thank you to the two clerks who helped me out. The first gal, well maybe needs more training or not be hating on those of us who screwed up and didn't, fly right the first time. Heads up people. If you cannot afford the fine, go on the court system website and you will find a form for if you can't afford to pay. It will list options you can choose from and just ask for reasons.

The department that handle traffic ticket is horrible. I got a speeding ticket in May of 2017, it…read moresaid on the ticket it will take about 45 to 60 days before it appear on the court website. I checked the website almost every week until it show up and finally it appear at the end of July 2017, I paid it right away, but the only confirmation I have is a receipt basically saying "case will be released when payment is received", no other communication or contact whatsoever afterward. The deadline to pay the ticket is at the end of August 2017, so I was assuming my case had been released after I pay it in July, but it was not. THEY SENT MY DEBT TO COLLECTION COMPANY WHICH INCREASE MY SPEEDING TICKET FROM $281 TO $561, UNBELIEVABLE! NOT ONE ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO CONTACT ME ABOUT THE PROBLEM. When I contact the court the only thing they tell me was how sorry they felt about my situation, but no attempt to help at all; basically, they just want to finish the phone call asap to get rid of me. I serve in the military and was preparing for a deployment, so I didn't have much time to deal with it. When I was at my deployment location I have to collect a lot of documents to prove to them I was attempting to pay my ticket, but for some reason it didn't go through. I even contacted my bank and they say there was no record of attempt to withdraw money at the time I pay the ticket. So I wrote a letter and gather all the necessary documents and send it to the collection company so they can send those docs to the court to review my request. 2 months pass by and I contacted the collection company again and they say the court deny my request. To sum it all up, I end up paying approx $300 more for ticket in which I took full responsibility for, did my diligent, checking up on the ticket and pay it right way when it appear on the website. But for some fucking reason my payment did not go through and they have no effort to find out why and refuse to accept my effort in researching the reason behind it. No support receiving whatsoever from their staff or even the clerk; especially the clerk, she such an idiot, she have very limited knowledge about her job and very unprofessional in the way she talk to me.

Staff trays inmates like people and it was clean and spacious. I was a kitchen trustee and the guy who ran the kitchen back then always made the day so much more bearable. Guest services was very clean. The front desk staff was very attentive and offered to store my personal belongings. Upon arrival you will be offered a keepsake photo for your Instagram and given slippers for your stay. Room was not overly decorated. Unfortunately, there was no turn down service and the mattresses were not very comfortable. Complimentary meals were served three times a day. The food was like nothing I've never experienced. Portions could have been larger. Beverage service was below average. Not a large selection. There is limited cell service and no access to the internet. A real off the grid experience. It's a wonderful place to have time alone to reboot and really get to know yourself again. They have a great incentive plan for guests staying more then one night. You receive a significant reduction in your final lodging invoice. Overall, my stay was very eye opening. I regret to say I will not make reservations again.
