I run a meetup group, and used to go with my group-friends to painting classes at Van Gogh & Vino,…read morewhen it had an actual location. Currently, the owner and instructor, Theresa, can be hired for in-home classes, and so I hosted a very small, in-home class (and brunch) for some girlfriends. First, Theresa is still fabulous at teaching class! She is sweet, patient, funny, and understanding with all levels of artistry-- including us "artistically-challenged" folks. ;) Not only did she teach at our pace; she also created a painting that was doable for us, and that allowed each of us to feel successful. (She will even walk around and help you out individually, if desired.) Moreover, I appreciated her payment setup! Theresa has a very user-friendly payment system that accepts credit and debit cards. The system is an online website, allowing each one of our participants to pay whenever she liked, and, as the host of the day, I TRULY loved that I did not have to collect money from everyone, and then pay in one lump sum. I will be hiring Theresa again for a similar painting party, and would highly recommend her for a brunch, group date night, bachelorette party, bridal shower, and/or birthday party!

My girlfriend and I had the pleasure last October to get in touch with our inner artist and take one of the more unique class offerings with the talented Ms. Teresa for the wine and beer stein painting class. For $30 we had four wine glasses that we could paint whatever our hearts desired. With it being October and the weather in true form of Fall all around us we chose to paint a few in All Hallowes Eve theme and for my other two I got a little more adventurous with our teacher Teresa's guidance and painted purple flowers. My girlfriend got very artistic with Teresa's help and painted her favorite Football team, one in Old Saint Nick themed and her final one to reminder her to SIP HAPPY hehe We had an AMAZING girls night out, Teresa is an OUTSTANDING teacher, beyond patient and helpful and gosh it's been wayyyyy too long, time to get back in there! With Fall around the corner time to grab my girlfriend and paint a picture, a beer stein or maybe one of the cute ceramics Teresa has in her wonderful studio. Happy Yelping!

This has popped up (among a few other events), so we decided to visit this first. Again, what a great find. So much art in the historic buildings surrounding the other buildings and throughout the town (murals!). I took very few pictures (can you believe that, lol), as I decided to drive versus walk on this very hot day. Ambiance - Two blocks...? Not just the old brewery, but all the adjoining buildings. And the lot across the street with the stage, see pictures. Lastly, the old church... is not a church any more, lol. Free outdoor summer concerts, see website. Theater, performance hall, exhibit hall, grand ballroom, education wing, etc. Classes, membership; see websites. Small parking lot, but other than the artists, we were the only guests here, lol. Well, the rest of the parking lot is currently being used for this event. Call or check their website for hours. Service - Everyone is so welcoming. Price - Free, thank you! Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1975.

We arrived promptly at 9am, and parked in the free lot. It's $10 admission fee into the museum No senior discount. Train ride is additional cost. We passed as the train goes around in a circle on property a few times. Most of the restored locomotives are local - the V&T aka Virginia & Truckee. Used primarily to haul silver & timber. Staffed mostly by volunteers. Hubby & BIL spent a great deal of time with a volunteer who took them behind the scenes. At least an hour. Sis & I waited in the front lobby where there was AC. Outdoor temperature in the high 90's. There's a small museum gift shop.
