A perfect experience! Dr. Carruth's office is never a top choice of places you want to spend time at, I mean this is a dental practice and nobody in their right mind looks forward to going to the dentist. However, I have to say this was truly a perfect experience. I was referred to Dr. Carruth from my primary dentist and he was able to get me in very quickly to do an evaluation and determine what was best for correcting the issue. Everyone at Dr. Carruth's office is super professional, caring and did everything to ensure I was comfortable with the course of treatment, understood what needed to be done and was able to receive treatment as soon as possible. I highly recommend going to visit Dr. Carruth if you are told you need a root canal. Sure, most regular dentist can perform a root canal, but if you want to be certain you are getting the best service and care go to Dr. Carruth and let a specialist handle the procedure and get it right the first time. read more

Had to go for my first root canal and I was terrified. I'd heard so many horrible things about the procedure over the years and I'm one of those people with back lower molars that WON'T get numb no matter how many shots you give me. I spent the night before my appointment stressing and reading everything on the internet about how hard it was to anesthetize a person with a "hot" tooth and began dreading my appointment even more. When I showed up at the office, the staff was super nice and I immediately asked if they had nitrous (which is one of the things they suggested online for a person who was resistant to numbing) No, they didn't. "But don't worry," one of the staff said "We have a secret weapon." "What's that?" I asked. "Dr. Carruth." She responded. I smiled, but I wasn't sold. I finally met Dr. Carruth when I was brought back to a room to begin the consultation before the procedure. I don't know what I was expecting, but this guy looked young. I mean, REALLY young. I'm thinking, "Oh, great. I've got Doogie Howser doing my root canal." Turns out Dr. Carruth has a fantastic bedside manner and did his best to put me at ease when I told him how hard it was to get me numbed. I'm really glad I told him that information and how terrified I was. He promised me that he would do everything to keep me from feeling any pain. They gave me a set of Bose noise canceling headphones before the procedure so I could drown out the sound of the dental drill which was a great idea. As the procedure progresses, Dr. Carruth constantly monitored my comfort level. Anytime I felt anything (and it was usually just a mild jolt) he would stop, and administer more lidocaine and make sure I was okay before he continued. About halfway through the procedure I finally trusted him and started to calm down. He completed the root canal and I really never was in any true pain. He was fantastic as was his assistant, Oriana. I can't recommend this doctor and his practice more highly. I'm sure I'm the type of patient they dread having, but Dr. Carruth put me completely at ease and did an excellent job on my mouth. Dr. Sugg retired recently and the practice was bought by Dr. Carruth. Dr. Carruth is very kind and compassionate towards his patients. The guy was working on a molar and in my mouth for well over two hours and let me hang out listening to his personal spotify account on his phone with noise canceling headphones. He had a lot of work to do while I hung out with Jack Johnson most of the time. Being new to the area & having my first root canal at 26 sucked. But Dr Carruth made it all ok. Dr. Carruth is by far the best dentist for root canals! My experience with him has been nothing but the best!! A little background of my situation that he fixed.. I had a bad situation where a crown of only a year old, it was poorly done. Being misdiagnosed by another dentist thinking the crown was too high and that it only needed an adjustment from a bruising to the gum. I didn't think I needed a serious to fix. Going on for months with pain, I went into Dr. Carruth's office, my gum had swollen so much that I had difficulty smiling. I was almost to an emergency state. Dr Carruth, diagnosed me right away after some x-rays. It was simple and easy. He is a wonderful dentist who knows how to explain technical procedures in a way that's easy to understand. He was able to do the procedure right away. You'll have the option to have your favorite music on with noise canceling Bose headphones. The procedure felt much better than some fillings I've had. Dr. Carruth really cares about his patients and wants them to heal thoroughly. Since my root canal was much more complicated with infection, he was kind to call and check on me. During follow up visits, he cleaned the inside of the tooth and put in a temporary filing to make sure it heals properly. Since then, everything had healed properly and a permanent filing was put in. Waaaay too expensive. They charged $220 just for a 5 minute evaluation and wanted $1600 to do a root canal. My insurance's established rate is $600. I had no trouble finding someone to do the root canal for $600, and they did a fantastic job. I would have saved $220 if I had done my homework before visiting. The dentist and staff were very friendly, helpful, and professional, but if you care about money go somewhere else. read more

I honestly can't say enough great things about Dr Carruths office. I had an accident and broke some stuff front teeth they kept me on their cancellation list and got me in the day after I called. I was very scared to have any work done on my teeth as I have never even had a cavity Everyone was so nice and gentle and caring and really made me feel much more at ease. They made sure I was comfortable and pain free from the start! Dr. Carruth also said that my situation was not that common as I had quite a bit of trauma but he and his staff stayed late just to get me completed in one sitting which was so appreciated because of the amount of pain I was in I would definitely recommend them read more

After years of dental pain not resolved by my dentists, I finally went back to Cotswold Family Dentistry. They recommended Dr. Carruth and boy was that the right decision. For the first time in a decade, I am without pain. I can eat cold and hot foods with ease. Dr. Carruth is a knowledgeable, gentle practitioner.... Great staff as well as the dentist himself. I am so grateful for the way they fit me in when I REALLY needed it. I love having the headset with 'my' music to help relax (as much as you can when sitting in a dental chair :) I felt like I was a 'person' to him, rather than just a number on the list. He listened, and explained things clearly to me, and followed up with me to be sure that things were going well.... and they were. He also gave me a number to call as backup. He is definitely my 'go-to' endodontist and I recommend him highly. I have bad teeth, so I'm sure I will probably be visiting him again, but even tho' it's not a place I would choose to spend my time, it was a huge blessing to have him when I needed yet another root canal. read more

Dr Carruth solved a years worth of pain from a crown replacement of a cracked tooth that ultimately required a root canal through the crown. I only wish I'd seen him before agreeing to the crown replacement! Very professional and caring about the patient's comfort during the procedure.
