I stumbled upon Carrousel du Louvre after exiting the Louvre itself. I was looking to exit, and like many an attraction, I fell upon retail. But seriously, this is essentially a shopping mall that it attached to the museum. Since we were here, we decided to check it out and see if there were any shops worth exploring. Carrousel isn't that large - there's a combination of known branded stores and independent shops. The latter are mostly souvenir shops from what I've seen - and since I was a tourist I browsed a few. Several shops have Louve merch, and there's also a sizable food court. With easy access to the museum itself, the metro, and the attractions on Rue Rivoli, the Carrousel is in a prime spot for tourists and locals to visit. It wasn't the most exciting shopping experience IMO, but worth exploring if you're in the area. read more

You can also access these shops via the escalators or steps. First and foremost, if you want something "Louvre Museum" I'd highly suggest you purchase it in the various shops within the museum. Carrousel du Louvre caters to the tourists or those with an unlimited euros account. High-end designer style "Louvre Museum" clothing and art inspired wear as well. Basically it's not frugal enough. A French chocolat shop in one corner and a nice book nook at the other. In between you have the boutiques selling clothing, jewelry, and trinkets. Mostly "Louvre" themed or something very Parisian. I admit I browsed but let's say just I'm happy I already purchased directly from the Musée du Louvre. Carrousel du Louvre has 33 stores and 11 restaurants. You can also find shops like Sephora, Esprit, the first Apple Store in France, Mariage Frères Tea Emporium, Plaisirs de Paris, Swarovski, Perigot, Le Tanneur and Fossil. A food court, Restaurants du Monde, with several restaurants including a controversial McDonald's. "Greta Garbo, and Monroe Dietrich and DiMaggio Marlon Brando, Jimmy Dean On the cover of a magazine Grace Kelly; Harlow, Jean Picture of a beauty queen Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire Ginger Rogers, dance on air.. They had style, they had grace Rita Hayworth gave good face Lauren, Katherine, Lana too Bette Davis, we love you Ladies with an attitude Fellows that were in the mood..." In the end, it's a great place to vogue. To be honest I didn't explore much here... I was here for the museum. I'm not even sure if any proceeds go directly to the Louvre itself or if it's just private companies making a profit. Probably the later. Pyramide inversée aka the inverted Pyramid can be found here, and oui, it's the best part of Carrousel du Louvre! Just ask Sophie Neveu! It's ok to French chic and nothing wrong with playing tourist. Carrousel du Louvre is a shopping mall connect to the Louvre. Yes, there is a shopping mall connect to the Louvre. This mall is underground and you can get to it from an outside entrance on the grounds of the Louvre, which is the easiest because you do not have to go through the security screening, or you can enter from the main central point that leads to the various wings of the Louvre museum. Once inside, this is your basic shopping mall with the various shopping items that malls have to offer. One may think that due to the fact that it is connected to the Louvre that there would be a lot of Louvre art orientated shops and items for sale. This is not the case. In fact, just the opposite. Again, it's just a mall. In terms of design, it is large, airy, and spacious. It is modern in its design, as are all the shops within its walls. The one thing that you should be warned about is that if you want to use the restroom it is going to cost you. Yes, they charge to use the toilet. They have a worker standing at the entrance, behind a podium, charging €1.50 and then directing the men or the women in the appropriate direction. I think there is a problem in this, but that is just the way it is. Overall, pretty good place to shop if you need a gift or that item that you never knew you needed. read more

We stopped at the food court on our way to the entrance to the Louvre. I am not a big fan of food courts but this one has a place that had a number of hot items that you could see in display containers that looked very good. I ended up ordering the Beef Bourguignon and it tasted very good. I was pleasantly surprised on how good it tasted. If you are in the food court and see this the Beef Bourguignon I would recommend ordering it. read more

Do you want to know a secret? Well if you are planning to go to the Louvre Museum this is where you would want to start. Take the Metro to avoid the lines that normally form topside. We didn't ride the carousel bit we did buy some souvenirs. We were able to purchase Mona lisa shirts for the peeps in San Diego. We also were able to pick up some pate and chocolates. The price is not bad for a tourist area. Then again if you want to purchase some big ticket items such as purses and perfumes they sell that here as well. Did you know that that the upside pyramid is also here so you can take a selfie if you like. It's a best kept secret on how to navigate the crowds. read more

After realizing the disappointment of not being able to enter the museum part of the Louvre it was a bit of a consolation prize to walk around here. It has a nice selection of stores within that could tickle just about anyone's fancy. I'll be honest, I did more roaming than shopping in here. I wasn't in Paris to shop, I was here to see the sights. Don't get me wrong, it is beautiful in here regardless of your visit. Many different focal points for your eyes to feast on. Another thing that is nice about this place is how connected it is to many other beautiful places to visit. I really can't focus much more on this. read more

I have mixed feelings about this. The world is so commercial now. Who would've ever thought they could install a mall under the Louvre? There are a few really nice shops here. Highlights include Delfonics and Pylones for unique items. The first Apple Store of France is also located here. And the upside down triangle. It was nicely decorated for Christmas, and overflowing with people, as you might expect. Not the most exciting retail offerings, but nonetheless worthy of a stroll through. read more

It's a fancy mall. And it has a huge food court with lots of options. I have fond memories of visiting here for the very first time ten years ago now. And while my more recent visit was less food-oriented it did include my companions finding things they were seeking (a Pandora store for example, and the opportunity to sit down and rest out of the rain!). This shopping mall underground is attached to the Louvre and well worth a visit even if you're not going to check out the famous tourist attraction. read more

The Carrousel du Louvre is a really nice shopping centre, which is in the same complex as the Louvre museum and the Pyramid, I entered through the pyramid and from there, there was easy access to here and the museum, but to avoid really long queues, there is a separate enterence to get in here, which is also guarded to try and ensure you don't sneak in to skip the queue for the museum or pyramid, which both can probably see you wait hours. I'm probably the only person who can say I went to the Louvre, but not to see any paintings, but to go to Starbucks and the Apple store, every tourists secret dream perhaps? Maybe. This mall was quite big, over a few floors and it was quite nice, although one thing which was a shame was the lack of maps, to see what stores were where, and I also found it really hard to get out, due to a lack of signposting, it seemed there were 2 lifts to get out, but actually took me 3. Branches of most stores, especially Apple here seemed quite spacious, new and modern which was nice and some of the artwork on the wall was nice, and cool. Other large chains such as Bose and Mcdonald's all have branches here. While visiting the Louvre, this is a really nice place to visit too, being basically attached to it, and a great place to walk around, perhaps shop and get a bite to eat, and perhaps grab a coffee at Starbucks, with the cafe in the Louvre seeming busy, over-pricing and disappointing, which was a shame. The Louvre is a really cool building and a landmark in France, but this mall seems to be the unsung hero of it all, basically the James Milner of Paris and this place does deserve 4 stars. read more

This mall connected to the subway and the Louvre museum is beautiful and filled with almost everything you would need and expect in a mall. The issues, however, outshine all the positives for me. The biggest issue was the paid wash closets/toilets/bathrooms (whatever you call it). Considering this mall is already so expensive and you are purchasing clothes, food, electronics, etc... you should be able to have free restrooms. I just walked into the Louvre museum because I had a ticket already and used the free washrooms there. There's a lot of cheap food options in the food court as well, so don't get ripped off by the eateries inside the Louvre. read more

I needed a quick meal before entering the Louvre. The Louvre has its own cafe and restaurant, but both are overpriced and mediocre so I opted to eat in the food court (brought to you by Autogrill). Glad I did. For some people this place is hard to find. On street level, the sign couldn't be more obvious. It's basically an underground mall with its own entrance to the Louvre (enter here! No excuses. Forget about the pyramid for a sec). There is a McCafe that sells macaroons in six different flavors for about 5 euros. There is also a McDonald's (if you are looking for another budget meal), a small Maison du Chocolat and a very extravagant Printemps. Tip: Keep your receipt so you can enter the bathroom without paying a euro. Oh, and take a picture underneath the upside down pyramid! read more

Avoid this place like the plague! They charge for bathrooms. What respectable shopping establishment would that? Stay classy Paris! This might be the best entrance for the Louvre, but wait until you're inside, and don't pay in the mall to use a poorly maintained bathroom. This is the anti-Louvre. read more

Be careful with your kids, or even better: shop elsewhere! After a day spent visiting the Louvre, my family and I were hoping to pick up something interesting to remember the visit. My son (12) in particular wanted to spend some of his saved up money on one the pretty neat recreations of antiquities there. But, when looking at it, he was very rudely confronted by a clerk there. Not only was he verbally confronted, he was physically grabbed by the hand. It wasn't expensive or even fragile. At this point I let him know he should talk to me if he has an issue. After being in my face, he told me that children are not allowed to touch anything there. I told him we would spend our money elsewhere if he would prefer, and he said " good." and shooed me away. Other than this man, the people we have met have been very nice and helpful. This man, who represents his company, is the caricature of the rude parisian. read more

The asian Chinese lady with glasses from information desk is extremely rude, impatient and unprofessional. She refused to inform us the direction of the day pass selling point, which is literally next to her desk! She threw things away on her table and yelled at customers. She thought us did not speak French so she only talked to the security in French. She does not deserve this job. No replied from the mall even we send email to complain. No wonder a person from customer service desk could treat customers like this because the mall does not care at all. read more

Been to Apple Store - Incompetent, slow service. Spend two and a half hours waiting to be helped while the "genius" people were saying - another 10 mins and you phone is ready... it was ready in 3(!!!!) hours!!!! And there were no working restroom in the mall. read more

Beautiful shops, modern, great for shopping. It's connected to the museum so obviously a high traffic area. Also be aware that when you shop there the stores tell you that if you shop and spend 175$ or more at the mall you can get your tax for the products refunded at the airport when you leave. You are directed to bring your receipts to the information booth where they will issue you a paper you need to bring to the airport upon departure. Unfortunately it's quite a scam. The office you need to get the refund from approved and returned to your credit is located in the arrivals terminal which is in a different area if you are flying out of CDG airport. It may be the same with Orley. They leave that part out or they just don't know that. read more

I never realized that an entire shopping mall (high-end shops no less!) is attached to the Louvre Museum. As a matter fact, the famous "inverted" glass pyramid (often associated with being @ the Louvre Museum) is actually @ the Carousel Shopping Mall...ATTACHED to the museum. This mall features a standard food court, cafes (including a Starbucks!) and mall staples like Apple store and Tie Rack. Many high end shops also abound. Good place to have a group meet up after the Louvre visit. read more

This is actually a pretty nice mall. Once you exit the subway, you actually enter through this mall from one of the specific subway exits. Just follow the crowd and you'll eventually find the correct entrance into the mall and then eventually find the mall entrance into the Lourve. This mall has stores such as Apple, Starbucks, Tumi, etc. for your quick shopping needs but it doesn't look like many people shop there and mainly are there for the Louvre. There is a food court on the 2nd floor which has a wide variety of foods such as McDs, Greek, Mexican, Italian, crepes, and desserts for a quite bite to eat as well. read more

I like the Carrousel du Louvre. I liked it more when there was an ESPIRIT, but you can't have everything. Stop by Pylones, have a coffee.... the restrooms are really expensive, so go to the fancy one downstairs. read more

We stopped here for lunch and a little break before we went to the Lourve. Very nice, English-speaking staff. Extensive menu and daily specials. We had the escargot, boeuf bourguignon, and the thyme chicken. The escargot were just okay, a bit overcooked. The chicken was very, very delicious. Tender, moist and well-seasoned. I was accompanied by fries, which were also wonderful. The boeuf bourguignon was yummy and tender. Service was also quite good. read more

If you ever go to Paris, you NEED to eat here. Best meal I've ever had because of presentation, flavors and meats were perfectly cooked. They have amazing merlot, milk coffee, tiramisu, pork chops, steak, sausages and crepes. So tasty!!! Even their salad was yummy and I'm super picky. The greens were fresh and the dressing wasn't overbearing or too subtle. I'd like this place to cook my last meal on Earth. The best "food court" I have ever seen. I really find it hard to believe that there could be a better one anywhere. With this quality and this location it's no surprise that it's expensive but it's an expense that makes you say "Well, at least that was the best quick serve food I've ever had from a mini shopping mall outside a world class museum." It was cold and rainy, the moment we got to this restaurant and ordered the daily specail, the beef burgoinon, it was delicious so good. Ordered the roast chicken was just as good. Service was fast, food was hot. There were heaters outside perfect for a cold rainy day. read more
