LOL While out shopping at Zara in another part of Paris, a local Parisian put me onto this mall and I am truly grateful she did!

Galleries Lafayette is a department store on steroids and a shopper's paradise, offering mid-range…read moreand higher end products. Their merchandise is extremely diverse, comprising just about anything you want across three buildings. The main building, where you'll find women's fashions, accessories, cosmetics, eyeglasses (including an optometrist), sportswear, children's wear, is topped with a must-see art glass dome, complete with a glass cat walk (maybe on the 4th floor?) that enables up close viewing of the dome from the inside. There are restaurants, rest rooms, and sweets shops in this building, too. Menswear has a building all to itself, as does the food court. Be careful here. There are so many delicious and appetizing foods offered in the food court building that you'll be tempted to overstuff. It would be just too easy to spend an entire day shopping at Galleries Lafayette.

At the entrance all the well known brands for bags and clothing. The area for Moynart Labubu was doing brisk business. A Labubu bag I looked at was 2300 euros!!! Soooo many stuff here. We went to the 6th floor to get souvenirs, cookies, and gifts to bring home. Our suitcases will be packed full. Great service, friendly staff. No pictures, the store was too crowded and I didn't want to get in trouble for taking pictures with no permission.

Inside, it is bright and has a nice, new, modern feel to it, while the selection of shops is okay, the giant square featuring Grande Arche and the Westfield Les 4 Temps across the way, one of my favourite malls worldwide makes it better. CNIT stans for Centre of New Industries and Technologies, it was one of the first buildings in La Defense which are the business area of Paris, I like to think of it as a Parisian Canary Wharf. I did find the lifts a little confusing and difficult to navigate at first. I did find the loud construction noises throughout during the daytime to be offputting, I get they have to do it sometime and it can be difficult with a hotel, but it just felt a little uncomfortable. The place is weird overall from having offices to shops and hotels, it isn't' HUGE but is a decent size, perhaps they're doing too much? 3* - A really nice building featuring some useful locations from Nespresso to Monoprix, and even a Hilton in a nice part of the city but it's only the start of your La Defense journey. They have free wifi, so the French employees don't even have to report to their offices to work. They just congregate at one of the coffee shops and then move to the next coffee shop where they can continue their social time - which by the way lasts until lunch when they go somewhere else to avoid their office. After a two hour lunch, they might just take the metro or train home, because they do have a grueling 30 hour work week to fake so that they can earn their 16 weeks vacation time. Thank god for socialism, because these overwrought employees only have to do this for 20 years before they get 100% pensions. Whew! what a relief. Here is a typical French employee, doing absolutely nothing - http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/cnit-puteaux?select=KvOei8a9yRjFgyutlZ-xNg#8ZhT5eGOQO62p9545gRYfA All dressed up, but sitting on his ass for hours. Please notice the offices overhead - empty in the middle of the morning.
