We stayed here while attending a wedding in the area. The rooms were spacious and clean. The shower was nice and hot and had good pressure. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Our AC wasn't working but unplugging it and plugging it back in did the trick. It was hotter than hell outside but our room was nice and sleep-well cool. Breakfast was free and it was good. Instant oatmeal (wish it wouldn't have been instant), scrambled eggs, and sausage is what I ate for breakfast. Everything was hot. The area was clean. There were plenty of tables for the guests. While the building and rooms are showing signs of age, I gave them an extra star because the staff was so nice. Whether it was providing directions, welcoming us, getting Husband a toothbrush he forgot, or helping us with our AC, everyone we encountered worked together as a team to ensure we had everything we needed and that our stay was pleasant. Just checked in and found out the pool is broken. We asked for an adjusted room rate and was denied. Response from the clerk, find another hotel. It's 9:30 at night. We get a second-floor room. No elevator. My wife uses a cane to assist her when walking. Great. We get to our room and find the door open. I enter with caution wondering what's inside. All good. Now, after closing the door, the bolt does not engage. Recommend- Avoid. read more

Came here for work. The room was ok. Whoever made the bed needs some training. The restaurant 1730 tap house, NOT RECOMMENDED!!! Inedible!!! Super salty, steak was as thin as a cardboard. The breakfast was unappetizing. Containers were dirty. And if you still want to eat, make sure you get your breakfast by 530 or you don't eat. We got there at 730 and everything was gone and they never replenished them. I think if you're passing through, don't stay here unless you absolutely have to. read more

Probably the best hotel in Carroll, I've stayed at a few of them. The Carrollton is an older building but it is kept up well. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. Breakfast is free and is more than just muffins and donuts, there are gluten-free friendly options (including eggs). It is on a very busy street and close to Highway 30 so the noise level is fairly high. read more

What a shit hole. I booked this room off what I seen in the website. The hotel looked nothing like the pics. We had to carry are luggage up the flight of stairs because there was no elevator. I was was walking to the room I seen a guy very upset and carrying a fan back to his room. First Red Flag. Get to are room and opened the door. Lol I could barely get are bags in. The room was so small. I checked the bathroom and it had a timer switch for the heat lamp. That was the only light. The AC was blowing warm air. The room looked like a rundown motel 6. Far better than I expected for a hotel in Carroll. Room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was a good selection beyond donuts and cereal, included eggs, sausage, and the hotel breakfast room obligatory waffles. If find myself back in Carroll, this will be my hotel of choice. read more

Rooms are super expensive but worth it. Has great amenities, lots of fun. Very clean! Great food, might want reservations but not needed. Tiny bit pricey but not too bad. Has the best amazing rolls I've ever tasted across the United States. Service was generally rushed and cold! Manager was extremely friendly and generous. Would go back! Really was expecting a crappy hotel and wasn't looking forward to staying here. BUT, I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The rooms were very clean and modern, with the kind of white fluffy bedspread that you just want to fall into. I felt safe and comfortable here. The tub and toilet were white and spotless. The front desk people were nice and courteous. The free breakfast in the morning was nice too. And it wasn't just muffins bagels and cereal, there was hot food like eggs, bacon, sausages, and home fries. The bartender at Charlies restaurant, I forget his name, so nice and friendly! I definitely plan on staying here on my next business trip to Carroll. read more

Before I write this review I just want to start by saying this is my first review I've ever wrote. Monday night I checked two of my co-workers and myself into two doubles for the remainder of the work week, this isn't are first time staying there we've actually stayed there a few months ago for two weeks while doing a job in Yetter IA, I'm an electrician that often travels for work, which make this all the more frustrating. Tues morning I awoken like any other morning and was off to the job site I'd say probably around 10-10:30 I began itching but really didn't put much thought into it, but you can believe by 5 o'clock that evening I was wondering what it the world was going on and where in the word did all these bumps and welts come from first I thought allergic reaction to something, my co-workers said I could be the detergent in the hotel linens or BED BUGS!!!! Yup u said it bed bugs. Now I've been in and out of hotels of in on for 8 years and never seen a bed bug, but I thought to myself what can it hurt to look around so i did and I found zero absolutely nothing. The following day I took things like benadryl but nothing work and it had appeared to me that there were more bumps and welts, still confused and racking my brain I went back to the hotel and chucked it up as hives which I've never had. After a long day of work I went to bed I'd say around 5 a.m. I woke up sweating and itching so I got up turn the air on and went to the restroom in doing so I turn on the light at the sink and mirror and quickly notice something crawling on my t-shirt I quickly knocked it off and immediately knew what it was I grab it with tissue and put it between two cups until I could rinse out a tea bottle to put it in at the point I was somewhat happy to know what was going on but at the same time extremely disgusted. I waited until it got close to heading out and called the guys and told them what I had found and that they needed to pack up and meet me outside I then took the bottle to the front desk where a polite older woman agreed with me that it was absolutely unacceptable and that she didn't want to check me out until I spoke with her manager and I agreed well i never received a call I actually called them back and was told they were having an exterminator do an investigation and that the would call me when they knew anything. Around two hrs later she the manager called me and said not only did the not find any bugs but there was now trace of blood that would indicate that I had ever been biting and I said do you show him the bug and she said yes it was a bed bug but the could come from anywhere you could have picked it up at a restaurant uncommon but true I agreed but then explained that it could also come from the guest the was in the room before me let's just say she wasn't hearing any of it. So not only did she tell me that I brought it with me but she never even said sorry at this point I don't even know what makes me angrier the fact the she had the nerves to tell me that or that I'll be itching for the next to weeks and all I got was not are problem! I will never stay there again worst experience every I would have never thought they would handle it like they did. We're spending are last night here in Carroll at the days Inn it's no 5 star hotel but it's bed bug free! If you read this entire review I apologize I just had to get it all out. read more

Had family stay here for a reunion. Would never recommend, had to pull out bedside table to plug in camera battery and there were 2 opened condoms on the floor underneath. The doors to the outside weren't sealed well, and that's where the workers smoked. Left because my allergies couldn't handle the smoke any longer. Better to spend extra on a big hotel rather than stay here. read more

Awesome bar/restaurant with really good food. Rooms are just your standard rooms, nothing special.

The reviewer who discussed the noise understated how bad it was. Not only do the room doors slam shut but you can hear everything when you are downstairs. All upstairs noise (walking, running, water) and perhaps worse, all the noise in the hall. The weekend we stayed there were many many children of all ages. They had not been taught manners and as a result raced up and down the halls yelling at all hours. It was awful. To top it off the bathrooms were dirty and we too noticed hair on the sheets. We been staying several nights a week for over the last month. Staff has always been nice and rooms have been clean. Very good steak house connected to hotel makes it a one stop shop to stay overnight. We've had as many a 6 rooms rented at a time and all would stay again. Breakfast was a little lacking. read more

Would not stay here again! Chaos from start to finish. Our room was not the reservation agreed upon. The doors are loud and I got basically no sleep due to constant banging. The AC was loud everytime it turned on! And the beds were hard and very uncomfortable! The manager is unapproachable although the reception staff were very nice. read more
