I have had 2 bad experiences at the service department. 1- I made an appointment for an oil change on my day off during the week. When I got there I was told there is an hour wait. When i went to the waiting room (which is quite large) it was full of people. This would not be only 1 hour wait. I asked why I have a long wait when I had an appointment and I was told they are backed up with tire sales etc. I took my vehicle out and went to Valvoline. 2-My daughters car had a flat and AAA said she will need a new rim as well as a new tire and he suggested I tow it to a dealership. We had it towed on 7/16. She called to check on it 7/22 and Kevin said he had look into it and call her back. He called back and said they were waiting on the tire. He called back on 7/23 to say the tire will be in the next day. On 7/24 he called and said "Are you sitting down? We're having trouble with the alignment. You will need to replace the lower control arm and both front struts. The car will not drive straight." he quoted us at $3600 before tax "right now" (meaning he was probably planning to add more on later). We authorized the repair. We reached out to several mechanic friends and they all informed us that there was no way this level of damage could have been done. We told GMC we NEEDED the car done by Wednesday. As of Wednesday evening, the parts were not even there yet. We informed them we'd be taking the car and going elsewhere and they said that we would be charged for the parts (that weren't even there yet). We took the car Thursday morning to a local repair shop that had the car completely repaired THE SAME DAY for less than half the price. The struts were not even needed and the car drove beautifully out of the shop. I would not recommend this service center as they are not honest, price gouge and will prolong the length of the service/repair. It's also something to note that several days would go by without hearing from them and WE had to reach out to get any form of update. This is an absolute deplorable business. If you want to be disrespected by a smart ass "service advisor" please go here. I don't know his name. But he shaves his head. I'll call him "cueball." I have had problems with him in the past. Every time I have brought my car in he always tells me what he CANNOT do to help me instead of what he CAN do. So I brought my car in today because my engine light was on. He said I would have to bring it in and leave it to have it diagnosed. I told him that Valvoline had a little device that they could plug-in. He said that he had the device, but it wouldn't tell specifically what the problem was. I said that I was aware of that, but could he do it anyway. He went out and came back, saying that there was a problem, but he didn't know exactly what it was. Although his attitude was defensive and disrespectful, I accepted what he said. We got back into the office and he said that if I brought it in. He could not give me a loaner. I asked what I could do. He said unless GMC said that there was something wrong with the vehicle and that in that case they would get a car for me from Enterprise. OK. I got back in my car and after I was on my way out I noticed that the display screen with all of the icons on it was out. I drove back and asked him to restore it to the way it was. He said " I didn't touch the screen and I don't know what screen you're talking about." Obviously, there's only one screen. It's the display screen. He got in the car and looked and said he had no idea what it was supposed to look like. Bear in mind that this is a "service" advisor. He sees these vehicles every day and is telling me he doesn't know what the display screen looks like. I said that I never said that he had touched the screen, but that the screen was showing the icons before he attached the diagnostic device, but it was not showing them now. I told him I didn't like his attitude. I definitely raise my voice and he told me not to raise my voice. By then the service manager, a fat man, came over and he got inside and he said he didn't know what the screen was supposed to look like either. And this is this the service manager! Obviously these jokers were trying to blame the change in the screen on me. I told Cueball that I didn't like his attitude. I told him that I was gonna buy a new vehicle from the dealer but now I was not going to. He said "that's fine." I said so it's "so it's fine that I don't buy another vehicle from this dealership?" He said yes. Let me tell your folks, if you want disrespect and arrogance and a nasty attitude buy a vehicle and get it serviced at Carroll GMC. They won't see me after my lease is expired. read more

I had a deeply disappointing experience with Carroll GMC specifically with Sales Manager Monte Jacobs. After negotiating the price on a used car and paying a deposit, I was told the vehicle would be delivered to me since I couldn't pick it up that Saturday due to a work emergency. I fully cooperated, submitting all required documents (driver's license, insurance, registration) early that morning and confirming my availability for a call later in the day. Despite clear communication and agreement on delivery, I was informed a few hours later that my deposit was being refunded because "they had another buyer" and that the sales manager had decided to cancel my purchase due to a supposed "lack of communication." This explanation is simply untrue -- I had been responsive, transparent, and cooperative throughout the process. The dealership's decision to sell the car to someone else after accepting my deposit shows a complete lack of business ethics on the part of Monte Jacobs. Professionalism and integrity are fundamental in any business, especially in automotive sales, and unfortunately, that was not reflected here. I would strongly caution others to be very careful when dealing with this dealership. read more

This will be my last attempt collecting on what was agreed upon between Monty and I and Carroll GMC. Between many conversations via text with Monty on receiving a check to cover the cost of purchasing a cargo cover on my own, and forwarding the receipt and shipping statements I was promised a check would be mailed out. That was on January 31st when the merchandise was received at my home and the same time I was told a check was believed to be mailed out but that he needed to verify. February 5th I messaged back and he apologized and that he would follow up, Again no response. This past Thursday I let him know that I was very dissatisfied, that was two days ago and I haven't heard a word. This will be my last attempt to reaching a settlement on a promise broken by Carroll. I purchased the cover out of good faith and out of my own pocket believing Carroll would follow through on their promise. I took a 2024 Denali in for a scheduled oil change for which I made an appointment. Prior to the appointment, THEY sent me an automated e mail estimate specific to my vehicle. After arriving, the service rep informed me that the estimate was not accurate for my vehicle and also the $20 coupon could only be used for a tire rotation. Nowhere did the coupon say "for tire rotation" only. After trying to make sense of the inflated quote, I walked away. I am a senior citizen that has owned many vehicles but never have I seen a dealership so anxious to gouge their loyal GM customers. It's no wonder so many people are now buying Hondas and Toyotas. Horrendous customer service. Low power mode on my 2020 Buick encore. I Called to make an appointment for service and was told I couldn't come in for over two weeks and no loaners available. I explained that this was our only vehicle at the moment as our second vehicle purchased in January at Carroll with a faulty radio and back up camera was still being serviced waiting for a part! appointment for service today March 17th, 2025 that I prescheduled out by 2-weeks to work around my busy work schedule. I showed up and the woman at the counter was very unprofessional. Her name is Cassandra. Be prepared to deal with someone that has an answer of "No" for everything as well as a sense of entitlement to just be downright not understanding to a customers needs. They must be having a hard time finding good help! I used "MY GMC" app to schedule this appointment. When I got there I said I had an appointment and she says no you don't. I said it's right here on the GMC app, and she says we don't use that. I then said I needed a tire repaired, an oil change, and a few mechanical problems looked at. She said we can't fix your tire, we can't do anything mechanical but we can give you an oil change. The scheduled appointment was specific to these fixes. I asked her if these items couldn't have been taken care of then why didn't someone call me to let me know this. If I wanted just an oil change I would have scheduled my appointment for just an oil change. Very disappointed! I wont return till she no longer works there. read more

I purchased a used vehicle yesterday. After waiting an hour in there "holding room".I met with the Finance manager, Justin. There was a miscommunication on the price. I thought I was agreeing to the price of the vehicle which included all their fees and taxes. I was not aware it also included my trade in. Justin "REMINDED" me 3 times that is what I signed and agreed to. Each time I told him I did not know my trade in was included he had to "REMIND"" me that is what I signed. I told him no deal. I was apologetic and ready to leave. At that point I needed my keys and saw my salesman Mike. I really liked Mike, great guy easy to work with. He was able to get the deal done. Over the last five years I've bought three cars from Starling, now Carroll Buick - the most recent was a year ago and it was in part because of their service department. Sadly, my experience today was underwhelming. The GPS went out on my wife's new Envision. It kept telling us the SD card had been removed. The dealership didn't have the part, but we were told by several different people, it was a 15 minute fix once the part was received from GM. After the car was in for routine maintenance a few weeks ago, we made an appointment for 8:30 this morning and I arrived five minutes early. When I mentioned the 15 minute turnaround time the service tech looked at me like I was from outer space. "Who told you that?" Then it was, "We've got 3 other customers ahead of you." An hour later my car was ready...I would have had no problem with being told originally that they needed the car for an hour. They set up the expectations for a quick turnaround - NOT us. And why bother with an 8:30 appointment? But it's the attitude that got to me. Great customer service isn't about right-fighting. I get that not having the part was a GM issue and at least two people telling us it was a 15 minute job wasn't the fault of the tech on the desk - but wouldn't it make sense to NOT add fuel to the fire and just stand behind the commitment of previous service techs and staff? read more

This location has a new Sales GM, Monty. I did not have a good experience with him. I go there for service, and I had to bring my brand new vehicle because they failed to fill up my washer fluid. Now this same thing has happened to my mom and to my friend in two separate instances where they bought a brand new car there and the washer fluid was empty. Monty walked me to my car, opened the hood, proceeded to confirm that yes the washer fluid was bone dry. Instead of politely filling it up for me, he closed the hood and proceeded to give me a quick sales pitch then walked away. I do not recommend this location if you can find better customer service elsewhere. Otherwise, I highly recommend their salesman Mike. He was very patient and helpful. read more

I have gone to Carroll Buick GMC a few times for an oil change because they have more immediate openings versus waiting two weeks or more and sometimes the price may be $10 less. There has been numerous times I've reached out to my service advisor for different reasons, each time it took numerous calls to get a return call. Once I was waiting over a week for an email that was supposed to be sent that day and the last time I had four new tires installed and an alignment. Don't know if I even needed one, but when I got back home I was looking over my invoice and noticed I did not have any documentation pertaining to the alignment. Typically you get a paper with a Birdseye view of a vehicle and it will tell you what needs to be addressed right away or soon or what is good to go. Typically they will give you paperwork stating where your alignment was before the adjustment and where it is afterwards. I called and left a message and have never received a callback to this day about my concern which begs the question. Was an alignment needed ? If not was I charged anyhow even though one was not needed ? Perhaps that's why I never received any paperwork concerning the alleged service and maybe that's why till this day over a month later I have not received a call or an email with the paperwork in question. read more

After waiting 3 weeks to be able to service my GMC Yukon, (since they were supposedly very busy the same day of the service) they canceled me because several technicians were missing. They never called me to cancel and then they wanted to make me wait another week, which bothered me a lot because I was going on vacation and needed my car. They told me to go to another dealer that was from General Motors so that my warranty would cover the service and they LIED to me because after going to another dealer, (Jenkins Chevrolet), the warranty did not cover anything because the only thing covered by the warranty is with them explicitly and I had to pay unnecessary money having a guarantee that I paid extra when I bought my car. That is to say that if I move I lose the guarantee, which was never explained to me when I bought it. When I complained to them, they did not want to help me , they did not give me good customer service. They are lousy and very informal. I might never have to go back again. What a pity that they appreciate your business in that way, after spending more than 85,000 with them. The service that I paid was for $128 and they said they will make a claim for only $ 30.00 to be pending on acceptance. read more

Scam artists. Found a car for my daughter with an attractive internet price. Called ahead to say I'm coming to test drive it. I get there, they can't find the car. When they find it, it's dirty inside and out. Test drive it anyway and then start talking numbers. Get told by sales guys about a $2k "reconditioning fee". And another $1k "documentation fee". Then the a manager comes over and, when asked about the extra fees, states "this is a certified used car, if you want it to be a certified used car the $2k is for the paperwork to do that." I've been buying cars for 40 years and couldn't believe this nonsense and bold-face lying. I wouldn't buy a care from these guys if it listed for 6 bucks. You've been warned. read more

Brought my $90,000 2021 Yukon Denali in for a noise the vehicle was making. They told me that the Idler bracket needed to be replaced and good news is that the car is under warranty and will be replaced for free. Bad news is that the part is on back order and they did not know when they can get it in. Meanwhile you can't drive the vehicle. So our $90,000 American car has to sit there and we have to go back up north in less than a week. Well we called our dealership back home and they located us the part through several other dealerships. Part is only 45 dollars. We can overnight the part. We were very happy and told this to the this dealership and they said they couldn't do it like that. Has to go through the warranty process and has to wait till the back order Sends it. We can overnight it ourselves and pay for the parts and labor to get it fixed right away. What kind of sense does that make. We will overnight it and pay for it ourselves but that is no kind of customer service. Think twice before using this dealership. Think twice before buying a GMC. $90,000. I have a Toyota truck that I gave to my daughter. Truck has over 200,000 miles on it. Has never broke down. Only a fraction of the cost of my Denali and I've only had to do routine maintenance so far. Very sad. read more

I'll give you the short version....I tried to find a good deal on a car in Detroit before we came to Florida for the winter, but was unable to put a deal together. I went to Starling for an oil change, saw an Enclave Avenir and had to have it. The discount wound up being significantly better than the Detroit dealers offered, so I bought the car. Scott Conklin did a great job selling the car, and they gave me a good trade-in value on my Cadillac. Fast forward six weeks......someone dragged a walker across the right rear wheel well, scraping it down to the primer. I took it back to Starling, and Garrett and the guys in the body shop buffed it out perfectly. I couldn't be happier. To make it better, Cassandra hooked me up with a loaner while the body work was being done. I can't thank everyone at Starling enough. The Detroit dealers could learn a lot from the team at Starling! read more

I had my car repaired at the Starling Collision Center in Dec of 2020. The place was recommended by my insurance company, Progressive. When I went to pick it up both the battery and the gas tank had been completely drained. They had to jump it to get it started. I went directly for gas and they had to come and jump it again so that I could get home. I ended up calling AAA and they had to replaced the battery. I told Progressive about my experience and they agreed to follow up with Starling. No follow up, no follow through. Would not recommend. read more

Wish I could give this place a zero star rating mainly for their collision center but for the service center as well. Someone wrecked my truck whom had progressive insurance so they recommended there. Once there they have not made one single phone call to keep me updated on if they received parts or had complications in the 3 months they had my truck let alone had answers to any questions when I showed up anyways. In 3 months the manager told me my truck will be done 3 separate time with dates which obviously did not happen. Once the truck was finally done I noticed the rim repair was a joke and had to be redone again, they drained my battery dead for the fourth time, got me two "new" tires ridge grapplers that were already a couple MM worn... They re-wired light bar cubes on my front bumper using blue wire slide clips that come loose over every bump in the road... so had to redo that. Original aftermarket headlight housings had expensive LED head lights in them. They replaced the headlight housing with projectors instead and refused to buy the right ones, also did not replace the 100$ LED headlight they misplaced. Once the truck was finally completed I get there to pick it up to find out they misplaced my truck key and had to have the Toyota dealership make a new one the following day.... Then to find out the rim that got repaired again was in even worse shape then it was before. So after all the bs and complaining they finally ordered me a new rim. I go to the service department to get the tire put on the new rim to find out the service department used the wrong socked on my lug nuts and stripped them all on that one wheel. So, if you have a choice just stay away from that place all together. Lack of communication throughout the whole process... read more

We love our Encore. We have been researching prices and dealerships for about 2 weeks. Through American Express preferred dealers is how I was contacted by Starling. Our experience started online with Shelby an internet specialist. We selected our vehicle and had pricing wrapped up prior to our arrival at Starling. Once we arrived we worked with Raven who finished up all the details. While Seth detailed our car we were signing papers. Everything from negotiating to the financing went smoothly. We were at the dealership for an hour and 15 minutes. Purchasing a car is daunting but the entire team made the process enjoyable. The only negative that I could say is that their emblem that they'd put on the car is quite huge but they had absolutely no problem removing it from the vehicle before we took possession.
