The cost wad $100 less; the advisor was friendly; they gave a nicer area to wait with free snacks; and a coffee machine with Starbucks coffee. It's sad when a dealership can't take responsibility for a mistake, I had a transmission fluid service done at Venice Honda only to find out the hard way when my car broke down out of state and was towed to Brown Honda in Ohio, upon inspection the Tech and service advisor Jake found the issue to be the drain plug not being tightened properly costing me over 7 grand as they had to install new transmission. Even to this day I've had zero inbound calls from this dealership after calling them multiple times so the 800 number was my only option and they assigned a case number to my situation and contacted the dealer. The case manager then reached out and said Venice Honda was denying any responsibility for this negligence so now I have to take it to court, Why would another reputable Honda dealer lie about what they found? When i got back in town I spent 20 minutes on the phone with the power tripping GM who should probably switch to de-caffeinated products-Dathan Phillips to explain my case and he was totally rude on the phone speaking over me every time i talked with a very condescending tone and raising his voice, his response was not enough photo's or evidence and that it was impossible basically calling the other dealer a liar, all while doing the side step boogie from every angle to deny everything, which its certain he will do again when responding below to my review. read more

I am disappointed in the vehicle. Prior to this last purchase I owned an Acura Cl that I had for 16 years and was my favorite car of all time. I bought a new 2024 CRV 16 months ago. Since then, two recalls and additional warranty work has taken place. I purchased a new car so I wouldn't have to spend hours at the dealership having it serviced. Honda quality has become marginal. When spoke to rep. to look at the vehicle, they advised "funny story" but the vehicle got front end hit by one of our other car guys and is now being held at collision center to be fixed. When we advised that was what we came for we were asked "are you just looking for another cheap truck cause we can get that". Credibility in service dept, quoted price of $1100 for oxygen sensor on 2007 Pilot and another $3,700 for new valve covers and gaskets, went to Masella's automotive down the street and paid $342 for replacing the oxygen sensor and told valve work not needed since most cars with 120,000 have slight leakage but didn't need any type of valve repair. My roommate took her car in on Thursday for repairs. Joe Cordaro told her he'd call her back in a few minutes to let her know if he could get the part in by Friday. He said if he couldn't, they would see about getting her a car for the weekend. She waited over an hour and called him back; the office said he was busy. She waited another hour and tried to call again at 15 minutes until the end of business, and they told her he had left early. She didn't hear from him until today, when he told her the car was ready and that he had gone on vacation on Friday and "didn't know what happened." He said he left all the papers on his desk, and he didn't know why no one had followed up or done anything. He had her believe that they would work on the car on Friday or at least get her a loaner, and then disappeared. When she complained today she got accused of lying about calling on Thursday. While I appreciate the service technician going over my vehicle when it is being serviced, I do not like how the Service Advisor presents the technician's findings and tries to upsell me on additional parts and/or services that are not urgently needed. Beware - this is how they treated me, and it is how they will treat you. Take your hard-earned money elsewhere. I purchased a used 2010 Porsche Boxster from this dealership while visiting family over the holidays. I live in Western North Carolina and requested that a few items be repaired on the vehicle, so I had to fly back to take delivery with a plan to drive the car back to NC. They knew of my plan to transport the vehicle this way. After taking delivery, I was driving to my parent's house in Fort Myers to spend the night before the long drive back to NC, and at 30 miles, the car flashed a transmission light and went into "limp" mode, almost causing me to crash as I coasted across 3 lanes of traffic into the shoulder (it was dark out, and traffic was heavy). I was able to "limp" it back to Ft Myers, where I took the car to a Porsche dealership for evaluation, and immediately brought this to the attention of my salesman, who put me in touch with his manager. After explaining the situation, he basically told me that I knew what I was getting into with an "as-is" used car purchase, but that I should call him back after the Porsche dealership finished their evaluation. For $400, The Porsche dealership performed their evaluation, and the fault codes indicated that the car needed a new transmission at a cost of $27,158.02 and also needed an alignment, which I was told was done for me before taking delivery (another $499.99). I left 2 messages for for the sales manager with no return call. After almost 2 weeks, another sales manager called and told me that I knew what I was getting into with a 15-year-old car that was sold as-is and that I was offered a service contract. The service contract offered to me was at a cost of $8K for a car that only cost $23K. I thought that with a 100+ point inspection process that they "claimed" was performed and only 53k miles on the car, that I should be safe. I have a hard time believing that it is the dealership's values to stick a customer with a car in this situation. I have requested a discussion with the General Manager, but have not heard from him as of yet. It is difficult to cost-justify legal action with a transaction of this dollar amount, but I am exploring this and plan on filing complaints with the Florida Department of Consumer Services, the Better Business Bureau, writing a Trustpilot and other reviews, and making sure that the Honda Franchise is aware of how they are doing business. This should have been a wholesale car, but they chose to put it on their lot and sell it, giving a false sense of security under the Honda Franchise's name. Update - I just noticed the recent Google review of "danbo" who also was sold a car with a bad transmission and was told the same as me. Looks like this is becoming a common practice at this dealership and not an isolated incident. Take your money someplace else and protect your family's assets. Never again at this Dealership I visited Venice Honda to look at a certified preowned car that was advertised online. Of course, it had "just been sold", when I arrived. Be aware that there are appointment setters (in their internet dept), and then there are those in sales and leasing on the floor. As an older woman shopping alone, I got the distinct impression that the young salesman, Zach, didn't take me or my inquiries seriously. After showing me a few models on the lot -- all over what I wanted to pay, I was ready to leave. But, WAIT! After several visits to the "back", Zack discovered he had another car to show me, while not the same year as the car advertised online, but the same color and with similar features. Zach walked me through the lot and --I kid you not -- down a steep, albeit short, gravelly slope to a lower lot. It would have been courteous and only a small effort on Zach's part to have driven the car from the lower lot to the front of the showroom. After the test drive, we returned to the showroom where Zach disappeared again into the "back" and returned with Frank to talk to me about leasing, even though I had told him I wasn't interested in leasing. What a disappointing visit. Zach, the salesman wouldn't give me any written figures to consider when I asked for a written worksheet on the cars he showed me -- he jotted some figures on the back of his business card -- saying until I was interested, he couldn't do so. With this kind of exuberant enthusiasm, why would I want to buy a car from him? I thanked him for his time and left. Avoid like the Coronavirus!!! I was interested in a car they listed on the website so I called a couple of times to get more details from this dealership, and scheduled the hour-long trip with my family this morning to come see it and drive it. Last I spoke with them, it was 7:30pm. We got a call this morning confirming that we would be arriving, and we confirmed. I even called them again to confirm info they'd need for a registration transfer. I spoke to several people, but my main points of contact were Michael and Red. They told me - this morning - they "were getting it ready for me" and they "found it in their notes" by my phone # and they "would see me soon". When we arrived this morning we were told the car was gone. Apparently it sold last night at 8:45pm. We were given a number of clumsy excuses, including an effort to scapegoat their third party scheduler. My feeling is that at best their story shows they are willfully negligent in keeping their customers informed. At worst, they were gambling that we'd be interested in the up-sell alternative they were only too quick to offer. WHY ON EARTH DID THEY NOT CALL AFTER THEY "REALIZED IT WAS SOLD" INSTEAD OF LETTING ME DRIVE AN HOUR FOR OUR "APPOINTMENT" ? These are the shenanigans that give car salespeople a bad reputation. I want to start off by saying that I have never stepped foot on their property. I'm from out of town and anticipated traveling HOURS to buy a car. I've been looking for a specific vehicle for months and I finally saw it on Venice Honda's website. I called them and they told me that it was sold. No big deal, right? Wrong. I received a call from a salesman a few hours after they told me it was sold asking me if I was still interested in the vehicle and when I can come in for a test drive. I told the salesman that I already confirmed that the car was sold. He stumbles on his words and proceeds to tell me that it wasn't sold and it is being shipped to the dealer that weekend. I ended up making an appointment in case he was being truthful. As it turns out, that salesman wasn't truthful. I called the dealership about ten minutes later to confirm if the car was there or not. It was sold the day before. I wouldn't suggest boycotting this dealership but call to confirm if the car you're looking at is actually there. DO NOT FALL FOR THE BAIT AND SWITCH. WARNING - DO NOT TRUST Advertised pricing!! Looking for my sons' first car...we saw a car advertised for $4995.00 . My son had $7000 cash in hand to pay for car (he worked hard to save this and he just turned 17) , Test drove the car , fell in love with it , perfect first car with low mileage- We knew it would be about $7000 with tags / title /taxes etc. However, they tacked on an additional $2500 to pay for inspection of the car so they could even sell it off the lot! Don't you think you should do that before you advertise the car , and should not advertise the car for $4995.00 if you are actually selling it for $7495???? So end of the story they Nickle and dime you - and a car advertised for $4995.00 - came out to be $9372.64!! And good luck trying to actually get someone to answer the phones there - it is impossible !! Even before we visited for a test drive we could not get anyone to answer. Apparently I am not the only one with this complaint - Several reviews of this nature all over the internet on pages they list their cars! Rule 2-19.005(16), F.A.C., states that it shall be an unfair or deceptive act or practice for a motor vehicle dealer to advertise the price of a motor vehicle unless the advertised price includes all fees or charges which the customer must pay for the vehicle. I recently went to Venice Honda to do some maintenance items for my CRV. My service advisor was Tyrell who was able to help me with everything. He answered questions and explained things to me. We took a look at my records and he was incredibly helpful. I waited at the dealership and everything was comfortable. There was a great place to sit both indoors and outdoors. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. Sent an Email as I live 80 miles away and requested an out-the-door detailed cost sheet . I received two replies from different staff members , asking , "When could I visit for a chat ?" "Am I trading, financing, what is my zip code etc .?" All rather presumptous queries as I've yet to receive the O-T-D. I suspect that their lack of forthcoming with my request is that a detailed out-the-door cost sheet would include many dealer add-ons which I would challenge and refuse to pay as , despite what many, but not all, dealerships claim, these additional fees and simply blatant profit padding. I checked with KBB to see what the leased car is worth before returning it to the dealer at the end of the lease and this dealer began to inundate me with phone messages, emails, and phone calls that they wanted to buy my car and were stating that they will give $4-$6k more than KBB. I immediately clearly explained that I would not buy a car from them as I already purchased another vehicle. They assured that they were just buying used cars and really wanted mine. As a result, these clowns offered me several thousands less than KBB (even though I told them MANY TIMES how much the lease buyout was) and I wasted more than an hour of my time. Daniel Smith 08-12-2023 From FACEBOOK....ATTENTION Venice Honda is Exploiting the Elderly (my Mother-In-Law) Service Advisor Joe Cordaro pressured my elderly mother-in-law into getting a recomended service on her 2016 Honda Pilot Touring that she owned since new because he said the motor would "Blow Up" if she didn't get it done. The service advised "pressured" was a timing belt, 4 new tires brake fluid change, A/C Filter, Windshield wipers and an oil change (which the oil change was the only thing she originally came in for on 7/21/23). She clearly informed Joe that she could not afford all this, but Joe didn't give up and gave her a brochure for Koalifi financing and pushed her to apply for pre approval on her phone, which she got for a $5000 loan/lease. She was scheduled to return on Monday, 7/24 and when she arrived they took her across the street to get a rental car while they performed the services. She was told she wouldn't get to know the terms or amount of her bill until they completed what was necessary and submitted it to Koalifi (the finance company) when they were finished. When they were done and submitted the $2968.46 (invoice #644159) she was then made aware of the horrific finance terms. They were going to take $188.35 out of 52 paychecks starting 8/9/23 or she can pay $3,497.85 as of 8/2/23 (increasing daily) but she only has 90 days to pay off the daily increasing total, otherwise she will have to pay a total of 52 times 188.35 = $9,794.20‼ HOW CAN YOU CALL YOURSELF A TRUSTED SERVICE ADVISOR AND DO THIS TO SOMEONE?‼‼‼ This then leads us to 5 days later after my hard working mother-in-law was coming home from work and had a nail in her tire. She drove to Venice Honda (who she trusted) to just get her tire fixed as she needed to get home to pack for her long awaited 3 night trip to Disney the next day with her Grandchildren and Family. She was tired and vulnerable and unfortunately trusting of these employees. Certified Honda Sales and Leasing Consultant Stephen Walczak saw my mother-in-law in service and approached her as he stated service was his sales territory‼ He pressured her while she was in a vulnerable state to sign a HORRIFIC contract for a smaller, used 2020 Honda Passport Touring with 29,717 miles on it. He got her to sign all under the guise of "helping her" because she needed to "get out of this situation". Mind you the "this situation" is the situation she was in because her service advisor Joe Cordaro advised her to use Koalifi financing to pay for services she could have waited to do, but she believed him when he said her car would blow up if she didn't do her timing belt. So let me backtrack and get to the HORRIFIC numbers of her new contract. She ONLY had 10 payments left of approximately $550 to own her 2016 Honda Pilot Touring with all the fancy upgrades‼ She was concerned she couldn't afford the additional $188.35 every 2 weeks (that's out of every paycheck through Koalifi lease financing for her service) thus costing her about $927 a month (which would only have been for 10 months mind you as she would then have owned her car) and then she would have only had to pay just $188.35 each paycheck for the remaining about 32 of the 52 paychecks she would have left (Assuming I hadn't found out, which I have now so I would and will buy her financing out of Koalifi if they do the right thing and give her her car back) Salesman Stephen with the help of finance manager Spencer Hibbins and sales manager Kyle Composto then persuaded my elderly, single, vulnerable Mother-In-Law to quickly sign a contract for $726.58 per month for 72 months for a merely 4 year newer, smaller, used Honda Passport Touring with 29,717 miles on it with a 13.54% APR. THAT'S financing $35,377.25 for a 4 year old smaller vehicle that she doesn't like that after her trade in that they only gave her $13,000 for and she still owed $5,509.08 on it. They did include a check for $3,700 to pay off that Koalifi loan for the work done on her trade in Honda Pilot. So after the payoff and the money to buy her out of the lease on her trade in service work through Koalifi (so including the $7,490.92 down payment for her trade in) her total cost of purchase is $59,347.48 (well that's according to the paperwork that shows a 13.21% interest rate, but the other page shows a 13.54% APR so it will be more). Paul in the finance department recorded the wrong VIN# on my paperwork, even though it was corrected a week later it was never reported to Honda Corporate, no knowing this, I have since paid off the vehicle and have not been able to obtain the title due to a lien Honda has placed on my title due to the confusion with the VIN#.
