I'm not gonna get on here and bash this cemetery But it seem just in last few years that someone is…read moretaking my sons stuff off his gravestone. I had a plaque made with my son's picture on it that was made of cast iron That stuck in the ground that was stolen. I say stolen because I was told that the grounds people don't take stuff off of the grave stone. I understand that they do need to cut the grass and weed eat And that some stuff may be in the way and get tore up or whatever but just in the last few months almost everything that I put on my sons grave has been stolen or taken off . My son was buried here 32 years ago. The last few years i have placed stuff around his grave stone or on it is gone. It's sad that I can't even leave stuff on my sons grave because other people thinks it's ok to just take it becuase they thinks it's ok. If it is the grounds people then they need to take all the stuff from all the baby's grave stones out there and not just mine. Idk what's going on but I want answers. What would someone need a plaque with someone else's baby picture on it for just to maybe get 10 dollars for it. The last time I went to see my son the grass was mowed and some of my sons stuff was gone but left a couple of things. I looked around at the other graves and their stuff was still there with grass growed up around it . So why mess with mine and not the others ?

Very satisfied with Grove Hill. The funeral home is always nice and clean and the people are just…read morelike family.

I guess the only reason I call myself "fan" is because I walked and biked past it so many time…read moregrowing up in Dallas. As far as could tell, no interment ever happened there during that time. The yard was (is) situated along busy Loop-12/Buckner Blvd, so the only "peaceful" daytime hours would have been towards the back (southwest area behind the corner "gas" station...which might have long since disappeared after the 1960s) where some gnarly bushes and trees still remained the last time I passed by. I did not as a kid pay much heed to the cemetery before it came to pass that my Scout troop and I became engaged in cleaning up the even more historic yard that existed across on the other side of Scyene Road. I remember we guys coming across some stones marking graves of rather notorious people--in particular, female miscreants--from the days before Pleasant Grove (town's) annexation by Dallas. Looking at the Pleasant Mound Cemetery pic on this Web page, I can see that compliment are due to someone(s), either public or private, for the substantial beautification of the grave yard. I am left to wonder, also, if any of the derelict graves across Scyene have ever been re-interred in "official" Pleasant Mound. I find the perpetual care designation interesting in light of the fact that a bank or similar holding institution normally requires lots of money--through fees, donations, grants....to hold cemetery and cemetery upkeep in trust. Even though Pleasant Mound, small and level as it is, would require little upkeep, I still think praise is due to whomever has donated, and will continue to donate, either money or voluntary labor to maintained the site's historic as well as "resting place" status. It took a long while but at long last finally some good Dallas people got it done right.

They have NO CLUE what they are doing, they are a scam....I regret ever doing business with them...wish I had read the reviews about them before committing to this cemetery--IT IS AN ABSOLUTE JOKE. The good news is I had met with Janice Demus the week before so was a step ahead! Mrs. Demus was GREAT! She went over all of the details thoroughly, so I was able to make a decision on the funeral arrangements fairly quickly. Miguel Bandy was PHENOMENAL! I often wondered did he ever sleep! He was very responsive and supportive. He made a very tough and sensitive situation very comforting and uncomplicated. I know there were other bereaved clients with families in need, but I never felt like there were - based on the GREAT customer service my family and I received from the moment my dad passed until he was laid to rest! Unfortunately, I was not able to give 5 stars. We paid for the livestream service option and are not pleased with the outcome. The recording is not great. There seems to be some technical disconnects that need to be addressed if they are going to continue to offer this service. Had we known, we would have secured an alternative. We are grateful that the service was recorded, but we would have liked a better product ultimately.
