Small but nice shop, some interesting pieces but did not leave with anything. Pricing seemed mostly on-point.

Antiques & Chatchkes - Estate Jewelry "Antiques Jewelry"

Of every antique & vintage store/mall I've visited throughout Florida over the last 6 years, this sole proprietor shoppe offers the most fine jewelry. Ken's supply of fine silver, as well as 18k,14k, 10k, & 12k jewelry is quite remarkable. There's also a sampling of costume jewelry. Also carried here are currently very popular mid-century furniture pieces. Every piece I saw appeared to be in mint to very good condition. Prices were on the high side, so should you stop in & be interested in purchasing a piece, I suggest you negotiate a better price. This is not the antique store to visit if you are interested in furniture from decades preceding the 50s thru 70s. The few pieces that were available were too high in price. The shoppe is open Monday thru Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM. Calls are answered 24/7, & a Contact form is located on the business page. A large part of the owner's business is handling ESTATE SALES (phone for more info) & he is a Certified Antiques Appraiser-- phone to schedule an appointment. His appreciation & knowledge of antiques originates from his grandmother who, for 50+ years, owned & operated a shoppe in Indiana. Today I walked out w/ a framed watercolor for my last remaining wall. On this particular weekend, art was 50% off; I believe the original price was too high, but the sale price was acceptable. I hoped to purchase a vintage broach, but I did not see any @ prices I was willing to pay (&, in a hurry to get home, I was uninterested in negotiating). On an interior wall, there's a sign posted that advertises for vendors. Currently, the owner sells alone. He indicated that he'd like to find a dealer of high end vintage jewelry. When asked if he travels to find the merchandise displayed in the shoppe, he indicated that most of it is brought in to him by those wanting to sell. The name of this shoppe is Antiques & Chatchkes. Chatchkes is an alternate spelling of "tshatshke," which means "trinket" in Yiddish. A trinket is a "small, decorative item or souvenir, usually of no particular value." (Wordsense.eu) For many who seek antiques, chatchkes is not an appropriate name for this shoppe as there is boundless value in nostalgia & much of the shoppe's higher end merchandise was anything but worthless. And for that reason, I will likely stop in here again on a future visit to the area. The prices may be higher than I normally pay, but when nostalgia & quality are sought (especially w/ regard to jewelry), this is THE shoppe to visit. Definitely a worthy store to browse! It would not have remained open since 2002 if it were not:)

If you're going to offer vintage luxury goods priced higher than buying them brand new, I'd expect to see certificates of authenticity and similar documentation. The man behind the counter was super nice, but it was a bit of a bummer seeing how much of the good stuff felt overpriced. I hope people come in and buy, but a lot of it seems like it's been sitting there for a long time, and what's the point of that? The whole idea of antiques is keeping things out of landfills and giving them a second home.

Currently, there are 27 dealers; proprietor Love opened this business after her husband retired:) And it has thrived ever since. Not a huge antique mall (& w/ perhaps more non-vintage offerings than vintage), there are still good finds here providing vintage furniture is not your priority. Vintage includes the following: mid century modern odds & ends, Retro Kitchen, Rusty Relics, Eclectic, vintage costume jewelry, vintage clothing and accessories, & mid century, small Christmas decor, etc. None vintage categories include Fusion Mineral Paints & Finishes, Nautical & Coastal, Danish Modern, Shabby Chic and Farm House, Cottage, sterling & other artisan jewelry, artisan paintings, linens, glass art & jewelry, & beautifully crocheted clothing, etc. I'm positive I've omitted other offerings, but not intentionally. Mrs. Love, a native of Michigan w/ the accompanying accent, was very friendly as well as helpful. She has many years in the antique/vintage business. This clean & organized shoppe is in a small strip mall & offers plenty of parking. Will we return? It's likely. The shoppe offered far fewer antiques/vintage items than we would have liked to see. However, if we're in the mood to browse an interesting shoppe managed by a very nice woman, we'll definitely stop in again. And we'll bring cash; there's a 3% charge on every debit & credit card purchase. My companion was quite happy to locate a 1960's electrical blow mold Santa face (mint) inside its original box for under $35, & I picked up a pair of sterling baby blue glass earrings, as well as two very nice mid-century ornaments for $3.00 & $5.00. (The Christmas dealer has a year-round room here.) We recommend visiting this interesting shoppe-- who knows what you'll find! Four new dealers will be joining soon...
