I shopped here last week and during this visit to the supermarket I had a list of things I wanted to purchase. I was followed by a rent-a-cop the ENTIRE time I was at this supermarket! It was upsetting because I had never been followed in a supermarket before- not even in the Asian markets in America! I will not be shopping at this market again, I would rather go to LIDL. Un peu plus loin le LIDL, mais au moins je suis traite avec respecte la. Et ca coute moins cher que Carrefour.

It is big and it does have lots of stuff but it always has queues at the checkout. Has the management of Carre-four tried waiting for 9 minutes in a queue with two tired and hungry children standing behind other bored children? It isn't nice. And they keep moving things around. You look for the slippers where they were one week and they've gone so yu have to traipse round the aisles to find them. And you have to go to a seperate place and stand in a line to weigh your fruit and veg - even the smallest supermarket in the UK does that at the main till so you only queue once.

Washing powder was around only 1.95 euros for a small pack which was perfect for one person for a few weeks. I didn't personally experience it but my friends had a problem a few times with the fact that they accept francs but only notes not coins and you have to weigh and put a sticker on any fruit (even if it had a sticker and the sticker is ripped).

Happened to walk down this alley post farmer's market and the line was long so stopped to watch…read morethem make and serve some raclette and reblochon sandwiches. Sandwiches could be Hot or cold and I read you could add toppings but they were busy and didn't ask if I wanted anything added, which was fine. I saw they took credit card but didn't realize there was a minimum charge and couldn't understand what they said - then the server turned to the crowd and said something which they laughed at? but I was eventually able to pay and get my Sandwich which I enjoyed by a nearby canal. It would have been nice if the bread was toasted since I ordered it Hot and I didn't find it had too much flavor but it was still filling and nice to try. Store attached to it also had some nice local gifts and food for purchase.

There is a small range of fruit and vegetables - plenty to get buy with on a week's self catering, which is what we were doing. We bought spinach, potatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, carrots, fresh root ginger, lemons, oranges, garlic - basic items really, and the most divine avocados. They have plenty of other store cupboard items - pasta, tinned goods, rice and the like - really just what you would expect from a mini supermarket. Surprisingly, they also have a Bio (organic range), and the gluten free Genius bread. And quite a few dark chocolates that are suitable for vegans (essential provisions!) So it's probably quite a good place for those with dietary requirements. Casino however are not big on varieties of beans (although you can get Heinz baked beans!) although there are chickpeas (being vegan, chickpeas pretty much keep me alive) and their beer selection isn't great. They do however, as you may imagine, have stacks and stacks of wine. Service is good, quick, and typically no queues. We were very happy to have such a good shop very close to our apartment, as for a week of self catering while on a ski holiday, Casino really had everything that we needed.
