For a small grocery store in a resort town, it's fairly well stocked, though popular items (like greek yogurt and anything on sale) run out quickly. Prices are also not heartbreakingly high, as is normally the case in a ski town. read more

The clothing store is in the bottom part of the store and in my opinion, is equivalent to a Target, or possibly a hut if an upscale Target with decent prices and good selections. I visited 3 times while I was there visiting and each time, I left with some cute piece of clothing. In the back of the store is the home area with things such as towels and bedding. Up the escalator near the back right area of the store is where you go to get to the grocery store. They do have a good variety of things although most of it is in French, although there are some American products. They have a great selection of cookies too! Exceptional wine inventory although I had no clue what I was looking at to purchase. I did ask one person for help but he did not speak English. Make sure you have a decent translator app on your phone. But great dairy department as well! The only thing I found to be lacking was a selection of paper products, such as paper towels. All they had were cheap, small rolls. The carts used for groceries are the basket type you pull with a handle. But great store all the way around and it was nice to find most of what I needed. Hope this helps. Oh and they do have several locations. I probably will sadly never get back to Annecy, but if I do, I will know right where to go!

This small Carrefour does a good job at providing what you will need for your stay here…read more On the pluses, it provides a decent choice of fruits and vegetables, it makes an effort at providing some seafood which is the only place to do so in town. On the not so good part, where the Sherpa market does a better job, the meat choices are rather limited and the cheeses are the pre cut types. Don't bother buying bread here, go up the street to fournil de cannelle for much better quality.

Sandwiches could be Hot or cold and I read you could add toppings but they were busy and didn't ask if I wanted anything added, which was fine. It would have been nice if the bread was toasted since I ordered it Hot and I didn't find it had too much flavor but it was still filling and nice to try. There is a small range of fruit and vegetables - plenty to get buy with on a week's self catering, which is what we were doing. We bought spinach, potatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, carrots, fresh root ginger, lemons, oranges, garlic - basic items really, and the most divine avocados. They have plenty of other store cupboard items - pasta, tinned goods, rice and the like - really just what you would expect from a mini supermarket. Surprisingly, they also have a Bio (organic range), and the gluten free Genius bread. And quite a few dark chocolates that are suitable for vegans (essential provisions!) So it's probably quite a good place for those with dietary requirements. Casino however are not big on varieties of beans (although you can get Heinz baked beans!) although there are chickpeas (being vegan, chickpeas pretty much keep me alive) and their beer selection isn't great. They do however, as you may imagine, have stacks and stacks of wine. Service is good, quick, and typically no queues. We were very happy to have such a good shop very close to our apartment, as for a week of self catering while on a ski holiday, Casino really had everything that we needed.

Few times I've gone there there is always a friendly staff person who speaks English well enough and is able to help me. Quality of food especially fresh but also packaged is quite good. You could not skimp here and spend 1/5-1/10 of what you would in the restaurants here. And while they are a few good restaurants, most are not worth your cash. Be warned though that the downstairs area with all non food items (yes coke and Pepsi are not food) is cramped and a little disorganized. But everything you need is there. BTW, address is incorrect on yelp. Should be 117 Rue Joseph Vallot.
