I wish I read the reviews before I hired them, and I am gad that I did not commission them to do anything else but carpet. The area was relatively small, so I did not expect them to goof that up. However, when I went outside about an hour later, I discovered that they left the old carpet and pad in front of my house. Not only was garbage collection about three days away, it was scheduled to rain the next day. This half -behind job caused me more work than it was worth. I am very pleased with my carpet from carpet depot. The salesman Brain was great to work with. The carpet was ready when they said it would be. I gave 3 stars because upon installation there were many area the carpet was not secured down, which they returned to fix. However, the installers damaged my new floor, scuffed my newly painted walls, doors, and closet shelves, dented door frames and built in closet shelf. All of which I fixed myself bc I was moving in and needed it repaired asap. Apparently my time and materials are not worth much, they offered compensation in the form of "dinner on them", $100 check. Last time I checked dinner typically costs more then $100 average (we are a family of 4), but also, it would have been hundreds of dollars in repairs for me to have it fixed. I needed two rooms carpeted with 15 ft wide carpet which is not easy to find. I also had a lot of furniture in each room so I wanted it installed in consecutive weeks. I could not find anyone willing to do it that way so I went to Carpet Depot in Levittown and spoke to a sales associate, Mr Brian Wilk. He showed me what he had in 15 ft carpet and I picked out a color. He was very willing to do it in two installments. He also beat the prices I had gotten from two other vendors. The installers came and did an excellent job. Carlos and his partner were neat, clean, efficient and easily moved all the furniture and put it all back each time. I requested an in home quote from carpet depot. Scheduling was quick and easy, so I was excited about the prospect of a new carpet. The day or the quote, the carpet depot employee seemed annoyed and put out by my questions. He was disinterested in going up and down the stairs because of a "bad back". Additionally, he scolded my husband and I for wasting his time because we wanted to discuss it together before leaving a deposit on the day of. He literally said "so this has been a giant waste of my time", even though I planned to order the carpet. I placed an order despite the very bad taste in my mouth from the employee. Was promised to have flooring installed in three days and it has been 3 weeks and the job is still not finished. I contacted people multiple times and they assure me someone will contact me to fix the issues but I'm still waiting. In addition to the slow service the work that has already been completed is extremely poor. Molding that was put back on after installation is uneven and some is missing. The salesperson was aggressive, but prices were good. Pressured to leave deposit. Should've taken that as a bad sign. The basement floor was not prepped correctly and you could feel unevenness and debris under the carpet. Called to ask them to resolve. They sent two workers and said it was the "floors fault." They fixed one small area of unevenness, but not the rest of the 20 spots. They charged me $200 asking for cash. A good carpet installer would not put carpet pad over uneven subfloors as they will wear unevenly and could cause accidents. We will have to hire another company to do what they should have done in the first place - fix the uneven spots on the floors by using a leveling agent before the installation. Additionally, they laid the vinyl flooring down over screws that were in the floor and they are now popping through the flooring. See photo. Not happy, have had much better experiences having carpeted many rooms before with other companies like Home Depot. Poor quality work, materials and lack of courtesy. We used carpet depot to carpet our basement several years ago. They did a fantastic job at that time, but we had a tenant that had pets so we needed to re-carpet most of the basement. The salesman came by said because they did did the previous installation they could match the previous install carpet. The carpet was torn up as well as the padding, reinstalled with the carpet that does not match and they felt padding instead of what was originally installed. So now most of the basement is a different color and depth of padding in the original installation and we have a ridiculous two toned floor. I posted pictures here because pictures speak more than words. I also posted multiple pictures of damaged onto walls and doorways during installation, there are no callbacks from the salesman on how they intend to make good on and obviously botched installation. Prices are moderately priced, but contracts with this installer at your own risk because you get much less than what you're paying for. read more

I had a great experience with Carpet Depot. I purchased 10k worth of carpeting from them. The carpet was special order and I expected to wait for it. The sales experience was excellent. I went to the Wantagh store and worked with Dennis. No pressure sales and he educated us on the different grades of carpeting. We shopped around but ended up going back to make the purchase. You get what you pay for when it comes to carpeting! The installation was for 1 living room, 2 bedrooms, 2 staircases, 2 landings, and a finished basement. Carpet Depot sent 3 installers. They were clean, professional, and their work was great. The furniture was moved and put back. All of the old carpeting was cut, wrapped, and put to the curb. Worst installation ever! They never called in advance as they are supposed to and when I called the store on the day of the installation, they said someone will call me. Next thing, two hours later, installers show up at the door (no call or notice). The guy then asks me which carpet I need to install - they open carpet and rugpad on the road (it rained in the morning). When I mentioned to do it in the house, they said they do this at every place even after I said it rained in the morning and roads and driveways are dirty! Anyway, after the installation, they left with mess around the whole floor (no cleaning on dust they produced while installing carpet). Worst service ever!!!!!! I wish I had read customer reviews before hiring Carpet Depot to install wall to wall carpet in my house 3 years ago. The carpet is lifting horribly in 2 places. There are nails sticking up from the floor in several places which have cut our feet and my husband had to hammer them down. We are only 2 adults and a toddler in a 2000 sq ft home, so no heavy foot traffic, never dragged any furniture. I called Carpet Depot today to have the lifting fixed since we have a 10 yr warranty, and spoke with Larry who was extremely rude and condescending. Told him everything the liar salesman told me before installation. He was surprised that I remember what he said 3 years ago. Umm yeah dummy I remember everything including when your rude salesman told me, 7 months pregnant at the time, to not name our baby a name from our culture. Like how dare you? Who are you? I spoke to the admin and salesperson Danny who both told me that because the paperwork was never even processed because it was before the business opened that I wouldn't be charged. Anyways flash forward three weeks later they charged me!!!! They literally proceeded with a bill I never authorized and in fact canceled. Mind you they called me today three weeks after the job should've technically been completed that the carpets just came in. Such BULL!! I wish that I would have read the reviews before I had purchased my carpet from the Levittown store. While the salesman was quite helpful, I found the quality of the carpet to be awful. I also had the same issue as Danielle A. with the installers clogging our toilet!! I can't believe it!!! Amazing. I needed to call the service department because after 5 months my carpet began to pull and unravel. They blamed my cats!! Unbelievable!! We went to the Lake Grove store and talked with Joe the sales guy. We made it very clear that we will need the carpet installed prior to a certain date. He said he will call and make sure the carpet is in stock. He assured us it was in stock, so we placed the order. After giving the deposit, we get measured and the next day I receive a call from the Main office telling us it is not in stock and the MFG is giving a date well past our drop dead date. We looked at some reviews and all the negative ones were due to Not In Stock issues. That is why we told him, that we will not purchase unless it is in stock. After getting my small bathroom measured for vinyl flooring, I never got a call back from the salesman John at Levittown for a few days to go over how much it would cost. I left messages and had to go to the store to get the details from him. He quoted me a ridiculous price of $1,000 for my small bathroom (Labor, tiles, freight, tax ect), but I put my down payment down and was told that they would get the order in 2 weeks. No one called after 3 weeks (again). I called back twice today and was promised that John would call me back was also told her order of flooring arrived awhile ago. Now I have to make a trip to run behind John to set a date for installation. The customer service is very poor, they use antiquated paperwork and no one knows what is going on when you call with your invoice number. This will be the last time I will use carpet depot in Levittown Ny. I was going to get my livingroom done in a month but I won't waste my time with these lazy trifling losers! i am sorry to have to write this bad review of Carpet Depot, as I have been a long time customer there. On 11/19/17, I went to the Lake Grove location and bought a carpet remnant from the salesman Rocky. As in the past, I put down a $100 deposit and thought as usual I would wait a few days for them to bind the edges of the remnant into an area rug for my bedroom. On 12/1/17, after hearing nothing from the store, I called and was told the remnant had been sent to their Levittown location for binding, and would definitely be ready the following Tuesday or Wednesday (12/5 or 12/6). The following Wednesday (12/6), I called Cindy at their Levittown store and she said she would look into it and call me back, which she never did. That same afternoon, I called Rocky at the Lake Grove store and he told me that he "didn't know" what was happening with my order and I would have to call Levittown myself. This man has no idea of what customer service means. He was not willing to do anything to help me whatsoever. I expressed my anger and frustration, but he couldn't have cared less. I then called the Levittown store back, and Cindy informed me that it would probably be another week before my carpet was back in the Lake Grove store and ready for pick up. I told her this was totally unacceptable and again, she could have cared less. I am thinking of taking this company to small claims court to get my $100 deposit back. In any event, this company has lost a loyal and long-time customer, which I'm sure is fine with them because they could care less. I Have only good things to say about the experience I have had with Carpet Depot. From Larry who answered the phone and when I explained that I am physically unable to come to the store and he made sure he covered all the bases so that Joel would be prepared to come by for the measurement and discuss options for flooring and or carpeting. Joel like Larry is very efficient at what he does and is also just such a nice guy. He is not the typical pushy high pressure sales person. Joel is a down to earth man that will treat you the way that if you were coming into his home he would want to be treated. We decided on a gray rug he basically had the whole thing written up and I changed my mind to not only a new color but it ended up that it was a different kind of rug so he so graciously rewrote the information again. I called the day before as instructed and I was given my window of time and the following day the men showed up at exactly 3 pm which while it was the latest they would at least I was prepared. Its installers really didn't speak English so there was a lot of hand gestures going on thankfully no finger gestures. They were both very adapt in what they were doing, worked well together and finished before we knew it. All carpeting save for a piece they cut for a bit of a cover up so that wet shoes etc wouldn't make marks on the new carpeting. 5 STARS from start to finish. I will update if anything changes in the future with regards to the carpet. read more

I would give zero stars, if that was an option. I had someone come give me an estimate. They seemed very put off that o don't sign the contract with them on the spot. I assumed it was an estimate. I tend to see what prices others come in at. (Hence the word ESTIMATE) The salesman basically told me that he could have gone to another house and that he "lost a lead" coming to me. He then went on to tell me that I would not get a lower price anywhere on Long Island. Well, I DID GET A LOWER PRICE, and I'm glad that I didn't sign that contract. I would give 0 stars if possible. Do not use Carpet Depot. Their workers clogged a toilet during our install, overflowed the toilet and left it constantly running. They told no one and ran out on completing the job with the toilet still running. The water then seeped through around the toilet, down the ceiling and walls of the downstairs bathroom, as well as the living room. We had to scramble to rip down the sheetrock and clean up the bathroom with shit still on the floor. This all happened Saturday so the managment was gone until Monday. Because the bathroom was gutted and trash cleaned up 2 days later they are now refusing to pay. Even though there are obvious water marks still on the living room ceiling. They do not take care of their customers. company expected "dirty" water to be left in upstairs bathroom and seep into the downstairs bathroom and leave it so they could better see the damage. with little kids dogs and everything living in the house....unacceptable. read more

I guess I should have read these reviews first. My husband and I went in for a quote 2 weeks before we intended to move. The first question we asked was 'can you have this done by 10/15 because we have the movers coming that day and don't want our stuff and boxes being moved around for carpet to go down.' The response was 'yes of course, all carpet is in stock so we can do the job as fast as you want it done'. Ok I thought, that sounds great! Well after they took our money it turned to 'oh there is a 7-10 day lead time'..... so here starts the stress. Every time we were told we would get a call with an update on the carpet, we didn't! Turns out the carpet was coming from Georgia and we heard every excuse as to why carpet didn't arrive until Friday 10/14. They refused to install on Friday and on Saturday (we could have had them start at 8am and be done before the movers got here). But no! They push us to Monday. Well it's now Monday and my stuff is in bags and boxes all over my new home. I have 2 kids under 2 yrs old and the carpet is being done now. It gets better tho! Turns out they did not order enough carpet to cover my stairs. So now my old carpet is all pulled up and my stairs are bare. I guarantee this company will try and say this is our fault and make us purchase more carpet when THEY did the measurements wrong. Carpet Depot - Wantagh installed carpeting in most of my home. Within three years I notice buckling in several places in my master bedroom. Carpet Depot refused to stretch the carpet and fix the problem unless I removed all furniture from my bedroom and paid them $125 (it is not a large room). I read several articles on line about the possible causes of the buckling. The only two causes, aside from improper installation, were dragging heavy furniture and water in the carpet - neither was the situation in my room. A contractor who was at my home looked at the carpet and agreed it was installed improperly. I told the store the above information but they refused to do anything unless I paid them the $125 fee. Carpet Depot does not stand by their product or work. Stay away. read more

Good deal. This review is based on the carpeting I have had installed approx 2 months ago. The salesman who came to measure my apartment was nice and honest. I was already aware that the $599 deal was only for a specific type of carpet so I opted to pay additional for the better plush carpeting. I live in a coop which meant I have to abide by rules and obtain proper insurance paperwork before any type of installation. The company did complete the paperwork fast and did not procrastinate so I literally had the carpet installed exactly 1 week after measurements. The people whom came to install were fast pace and knew what they were doing. They were in and out my apt under an hour as all I needed to carpet was a living room and hall. They also help removed the old carpeting and brought old carpeting to the sidewalk. The carpet is plushy and has not felted yet. I have washed this carpet at least 3 times after installation. I would recommend this company to friends and family as it was an easy process. read more
