What I can say is this:
1. Make sure that if you are quoted at a square foot install price, make sure that is the way the contract is written. If the contract is not written the way it was quoted as square feet installed, make sure you calculate out and determine if the price on contract is the same as square foot installed price you were quoted.
2. Make sure ALL that is discussed is clearly written on the contract BEFORE signing it, i.e., moving furniture, moving appliances, HOURS OF WORK (meaning start and stop times that is expected for the installers to work). Alot of people appear nice until . . .
3. DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT. . .from the time the installers get there (take pictures of product BEFORE it is unloaded). Digitally record EVERYTHING! For instance, f you have a room door closed and do not want them going it. . .TELL THEM. . .ON CAMERA!!!!!
One important note. . .If the hours are not clearly agreed upon and stated in the written contract, then you have NO say so as to their hours, meaning they can decide WHEN they come and go no matter YOUR circumstances, no matter YOUR health issues, etc.
If you decide to press the issue of them leaving at a reasonable time, YOU will be held accountable AND sued for canceling the contract, speaking from HARD experience here.
This was my experience with Carpet Corner, but I believe now that ALL companies/contractors should be treated this same way. read more
