I had to consign on a loan and help him make payments. He's on a fixed income. Floors started erupting shortly after. Then my mother came home weeks after because she broke her foot in the winter and needed a wheelchair for some weeks. They blamed it on the wheelchair. We said no this was happening before that. Blamed it on the subfloor. Well the subfloor was fine with the previous floor and completely flat. Took the money from the loan and did the work. After flaws started to happen they blamed it on everything else. Completely unprofessional company and lied to my elderly father multiple times of what they would cover after the fact and were very disrespectful. Only sincere person was Adrian who was part of the crew who worked at the house and seemed to want to try and make things right. We sit here with a loan and completely unfinished/faulty floors and then refusing to work anything out. Very disheartening and still exploring different options. Unreal how they think treating customers this way is ok while paying them loads of money. Your best friend at first then when you speak up on what is right they completely turn on you and become disrespectful. Thats putting it nicely. Think twice before giving this place your business. We were looking to replace floors and counter tops. With absolutely no pressure we picked out the floors and counters and were scheduled for an in home quote that night. Quote went well. One of the sprayers in an old Jacuzzi tub in one of our units was leaking and the plumber we called out to look at it gave us an estimate that fixing it would run into the thousands of dollars, so I called Donald to go down to see if he could come up with alternatives. At first, he suggested that he could probably fix the sprayer for a reasonable amount or replace it with a standard tub, but the tenants asked if we might install an in-unit washer-dryer instead. Donald said he'd be able to do that as well. He is always prompt in responding to messages and the quality of his work was top notch as always (see photos). I'll also add that he was generous with his time and willingness to share advice on how to address other home improvement issues with our rental property that we did not ultimately ask him to fix, such as helping us look up solutions to install a collapsible ladder to access the attic and replacing patio doors. I'm thankful that he was willing to drive all the way down to the city to do the work, and he was very fast and efficient in getting the job done. In addition, we ran into a couple of issues with matching tiles in the bathroom and putting doors on over the new space for the in-unit washer-dryer combo. Each time he was great with his communication and offered thoughtful advice. He also went above and beyond by making two extra trips downtown to address those problems. I sincerely appreciate how he makes sure to get the job done right, and with quality. When the installer team came out, they did not replace the boards and told me new boards were unnecessary. I was still charged for the board replacements anyway. I disputed this directly with the company on March 19th, the day of the installation, and did not receive a follow-up. I had to reach back out on March 31st to continue addressing the issue. At that point, they asked for photos, despite my earlier explanation that photos would not prove anything because of the nature of the work. Today, they responded by saying the pictures were "not proof" and agreed to issue a refund, but only after I pushed the issue. At that point, it's no longer just about the money. It's about integrity, poor internal communication, and how a legitimate customer concerns are handled by this business.

They exceeded all of our expectations…read more We redid a few rooms of flooring (including one bathroom), changed out a lot of the trim, and upgraded the stairs from carpet to hardwood. Peter is probably one of the most professional contractors I've ever hired. He confirmed the start of the project the day before, showed up on time every day of our 3-4 day project, finished at a decent hour (so we could have our evenings to ourselves), and kept me informed about the progress of the project every step of the way. Everything was contracted and professionally handled in terms of invoicing. He made suggestions for how to improve the appearance of our home in certain places and gave us up-front pricing about every additional change we could add on if we wanted (we took all of his suggestions and so glad we did!). He paid such great attention to detail, fixing so many errors throughout the house that previously were there...things I didn't even know needed fixing! So many of our doors were not sealed correctly and the flooring was all a mess, they fixed it all for us. This was a big project for us - we saved for a whole year for this project - I am so happy we chose to work with IDC.
