We took a couple spins on the carousel during our Mother's Day Weekend outing. This was our first time here and weren't sure what to expect. We walked over the Walnut Street Bridge and found the carousel building fairly easily. The ticket machine is automated, and there is only one machine. Some had trouble with it and took longer than others to purchase. The price is $1 per person, I believe under 2yo is free. We paid for two rides and my girls had the tough choice of which beautifully carved animal they wanted to ride. The outer edge animals are stationary while the interior animals rotate up and down. There are bench seats as well. There are some rocking chairs for those who choose not to ride, a water bottle refill station and clean bathrooms (although small). There is even a small room that looks like it could be for private events.

Super easy to buy tickets, which were $1 each, with cash or card. Tickets are only needed for kids and adults over the age of 2. We got to ride with our one year old, who enjoyed himself immensely, while we relived our childhood.

I found this place scrolling through what seemed like touristy websites, and decided to check it out. So worth it! It was SO CUTE!! My sister and I (15 &12) LOVED it! It only costs $1 to do, so we rode like four times. Each round is easily 5 minutes! Definitely a cute, chill place, plus it gives parents a break Fun plus-each animal has a spot on the ground in front of it with its band :)

Fun little gem of a find. Cheap, classic, and cool (it was cooler inside by the fans by the carousel than outside in the heat) There are also bathrooms right next to the carousel.

We love the Carousel! $1 per person and kids 3 and under (I am pretty sure it's 3 and under) ride free! Anytime we are near Coolidge Park, we always ride at least once or twice! The staff are always very nice. There are rocking chairs if you don't all want to ride the carousel. It is in a climate controlled building and there are bathrooms. 5-stars for the price, friendly staff, cleanliness and the fact that our three-year old always wants to go!

OMG...I wish I had a kid with me so I could have an excuse to Ride the Merry go Round..I loved this carousel...it is under roof in a building to keep it GORGEOUS!!! The art work is amazing...I can't wait until my little Niece Dakota Rose visits this upcoming Spring Break..she is 3 and says riding the Carousels make her feel like a Fairy Princess...me too Dakota...me too and I am almost 50!!!! The rides are only $1 each... Cheap clean family fun and a Great Memory maker for all ages!! A Chattanooga MUST!!! located in the park below the Walnut Street Bridge

This place is mostly for kids if you ask me. So, if you have some little kids and they like carousels, then this area is the place to come while enjoying Coolidge park. If you get hungry or thirsty, you and your family can go to numerous restaurants, ice cream shops, and stores within walking distance. Parking, well I park at a meter after 4pm. Don't forget to bring a camera.

Totally worth the dollar ride. Gives you a break from the heat and there are bathrooms inside. Nothing special about the carousel itself though.

The vintage carousel is interesting to visit. We didn't take it for a ride (there was no one else there, and we felt a little silly, as two adults with no children, taking a ride on the carousel), but tickets are only $1. It was an interesting stop to look at and take a few pictures. I wish there was more history about the carousel in the room it's housed in - we wandered around the room before leaving and I finally find one little sheet of paper with information about the carousel tacked to a board with posters of events around town. That's how I learned that the carousel isn't native to Chattanooga and learned its year and a little bit about its history. Worth a look.

Well worth the visit! Fall hours: open at noon. Carousel is GORGEOUS! PROS: free park, parking nearby $2 for 4 hours or $4 all day, fountain for kids to run and play in, $1 carousel rides, tickets from Kiosk take cash or debit CONS: hours posted were wrong, $1 rides means anyone that steps onto the carousel (even if you're spotting a toddler), staff not very attentive (ride at your own risk)

This is my favorite place in the summer. The fountains are free for kids and adults. The restrooms are always clean. They have a place to change your clothes. And of course who don't like a ride on animals of your choice for a dollar?

Yay! I'm a Fan my family spent an hour riding this Carousel. My kids just loved it and it was only 1 dollar per ride with very long rides. Lots of kids to enjoy this with. Coolidge Park also had water play area but we didn't have suits Luckily the water park was surrounded by bushes and my kids didn't see it. Lots of bathrooms and a heavy police presence. Great Family atmosphere. Free Parking on Sundays only. Only 1 dollar to park on regular days.

I'm so glad I googled and saw that it's about 90% shade in the beautiful natural rock formations and caves that make up the majority of the park. Plenty of parking, charming location, and gorgeous natural scenery and rock with the park built to complement and draw upon what nature has already done. I was alone, but plan to bring my two-year old back in a few years when she's old enough to enjoy this, I think she will absolutely love it. Lover's Leap is stunning and my favorite of the 4 paths was Hall of the Mountain King. This place is amazing. Touristy? Sure. But worth it. You can tell the amount of attention to detail and love that went into developing every part of this place. Nothing is looked over. Even the sidewalks have small design elements built in. Love! This brought me back to the years of my childhood spent climbing rocks and building dams in our creek in rural Virginia. Let the imagination run wild!
